actually I'm happy with this update. buyers want to pay 14 euros it's not my problem. Free players who think spending 100k on name change shouldnt cry about how this game is pay to win because they're willing to spend 100 freaking thousand crystals on something that doesn't help them win at all.

I think it's time to unfollow this topic, clearly just repetitive statements coming and irrelevant replies (a minor few - no names), as you can see.

 

Also, feel free to check server load graph. Any real changes due to this update? I think not.

 

To those few who dislike this update, there are way more f2p players than buyers and these players are still playing despite this update, why? Well, I'm sure you can realize the reason ;)

That's only a weeks worth. Go back 5 years to present and you see a steady decline from over 100,000, even during the week, to not even being able to crack 40,000 and having usually under 35,000 during the week. Go look at the analytic's that Google puts out and it becomes even more evident. While this update may not make a huge difference to many, it is indicative of one bad decision after another made by the dev's. Pony Tail Boy and his minions have, over the last 2 years, practically run this game into the ground, and lately almost every change to the game has been made to wring every last dollar out of the community before it eventually collapses. Including this latest change to changing names. You used to be able to build a garage with in game earnings. Now it is almost impossible if you want to be competitive. It's all about the money now, It's pay to play guys. Unless, of course, you already had a good garage built.

Tanki has basically a static number of players.   They are not even trying to squire more new players...no advertising or promotions to motivate current players to find more customers for Tanki.  Numbers keep going down, regardless of the reasons why ( I'm sure from crap updates), but they keep falling fast.  Old players that are playing now have mostly spent what they will spend. How do you continue to keep the game afloat?  

 

My way would be to try to increase organic growth, but Tanki has decided to squeeze every drop from the current dwindling player base.  This is a typical death throes type of move.  I think Matchmaking will be the last straw for Tanki...six months after MM Tanki will be less than 20000 online at a time or possibly just dead and gone.

If you're in a clan or have good friends in the game you will likely become more conscious of your name and may want to change it, but it's more the principle of having a feature previously available to all players now only available to a select few who buy.

 

I can see why it doesn't matter for you, credit to you for picking a name which always makes me smile, never change it.

Ahh well thank you for explaining why people care about the topic. But ... if a game company is going to moneytize something in the game then it is best if they moneytize something that does not affect game play.

I hear you. I do not know one thing abut Tanki's ownership. But the way the company acts fits, as you say, hand-in-glove with the way companies act in when a product line is dying.

it's well known fact that at least 80% of them are "helpers" just to obtain some fancy paints and benefits which are out of reach to regular "mortals" some of your helpers are suckups,some of 'em have (had,until erasing (hell,how the heck noob like me knows??? :D )) crap carma,some of 'em still think that you don't need to be ranked higher then major to know everything about gameplay itself,some of 'em are obssesed with "job" (khm Ostrica,khm Cooper) and spend (proablly) every second available to bully (yes bully) pople on chat and forum,some of 'em are kinda to smart (IMHO) to be part of this..

As much as helpers are thought to be above the others with their "fancy paints and benefits", they are actually hard working members of the community who are managing chats and forums on daily basis, bringing you interesting & funny texts and articles in newspapers, helping you find your way through the game in Wiki and Help and altogether work A LOT to make this community and this game a nice and enjoyable place for everyone.

Now, if you spent less time breaking the rules and more time thinking of ways how to get involved and help the community, I bet you wouldn't post offtopic posts now nor seven pages letter to Alternativa directors, you'd actually help other players to enjoy this game and post helpful tips and ideas on how to move onward and make this community the best one in Tanki. Which you still can, btw. Always a good time to start anew :)

Semyon Strizhak mentioned quite some time ago that they will terminate advertisement of the game until it has reached its final shape. Yes, this game was advertised and quite a lot of people came to know about this that way. However, we don't know when this game will reach its final shape nor do we know what did Semyon mean by "final shape".

I had to face crazy_ukranian at a dm. he was druging the whole time despite already having almost fully MUed m2s while i only had m1s because my rank was too low.

 

anyway i managed to steal his first place in the end, but it wasn't easy. i still think spectrum and other stuff helpers get make them senselessly praise all these updates. not this one, it's a pretty good one in my opnion, but other updates.

Agreed. When premium was first added, it gave 20% and everyone complained about it being OP. It wasnt too bad at higher ranks since stuff there were much better paints like zeus, but it was broken at low ranks when even 40 combined prots was rare and expensive.

i dont need to learn how to play the game to realise that being able to change my name when I want instead of having to ask an admin and fill out a form etc is a good idea... plus i didn't have xp/bp equipment when there was a RU1 (only baught it in the last few months) so i think You need to learn to read players names before you make accusations like that

Me neither, I won't spend money on any game. However, having said that, I'm starting to like this update even more, though I do think they should allow us to change for free once. But let's face it, what difference does a name make in actual gameplay? It's a great idea for TO to get the revenue it needs in exchange for someone changing his name. No one will complain it's OP, and it makes it a whole lot easier in remembering who is who because you won't have ppl changing their nicks all the time :/
