Hello tankers, and welcome back to another addition of 'Meet The New Reporters!' It's tradition around here to interview newcomer reporters, so with that in mind, let's get into today's interview with and @Destrod, the latest recruits to the Newspaper!
_____________________________________________________________________________

Nyx
A former Event Helper switching over to Reporter. A wise choice, few would say, a choice nonetheless. A potential feminist in the group - the possible Night-Sisters successor? Come join us as we interview the newly recruited nublet to the team!

Hey Nyx, since you know yourself best, why don't you tell me and our readers a bit about yourself?

Oh shizzle, okay. I wouldn’t really like to share my real name, because I’m a shy person... ish. Hi, I’m Nyx and there’s nothing much to say about me except that I’m a 16 year old girl that comes from a tiny country placed in middle Europe, called Slovenia.

Well, now that the introduction's out of the way, please tell us; why'd you become a Reporter, and what lead you to apply?

I used to be an Event Helper, then all of a sudden I lost interest in that and got too busy with real life. I wanted to try something new that wouldn’t take as much time as events did. Besides that I always liked writing and reading so I decided to apply for a Reporter and here I am.

Ah, yes, I completely forgot you were an Event Helper. It's hard to remember when at event, all the helpers are cloaked in orange paints and robot-like nicknames. How was your experience as an Event Helper though? You said you lost interest, how long were you an Event Helper? Why did you apply for that? Just for the fun?

Being an Event Helper was a lot of fun, I would even dare to say it’s the most interesting job among all. It takes a certain amount of skill to not mess up (I destroyed a few minehunts, not proud to say lol), but when time goes by you get to know the tactics and you learn to do things and then your life becomes much easier. I was an Event Helper for about 6 months, I think. I was actually going to apply for a Forum Moderator but then my friend said I would never make it no matter how good my application would be because I had like 15 posts on the forum in two years. He then suggested me to to apply for Event Helpers, so I did.

Sounds interesting... I'd make a horrible Event Helper to say the least. I have some garbage can for a computer, with FPS ranging from around 10 to 20. I plan on getting something decent soon though. Anyhow, you probably could manage to become a forum moderator now, you seem like you can qualify, not that I would know. I have a few steps before I know what does and doesn't qualify to be a forum moderator. :V But let's discuss your current situation for a bit: How are you enjoying the reporter position? Do you have any long-term goals set?

Being a Reporter is easier for me than being an Event Helper - not saying the job is easier than another but like I mentioned events took a lot of my time and there’s a lot of working in teams. Now I don’t have to rely on anyone (most of the time), which I prefer... Since I can decide when I want to write and what I want to write about. It feels like my hands have been untied. I haven’t set any long-term goals, because I’m not sure how busy I will get in the exams time yet, but I want to continue writing for sure.

Well, that's good! Continue writing, people definitely seem to be enjoying your articles. I can get quite bust too, with school and life (yes, I do own one, I bought it last month). I sometimes just take out a sticky note and just jot down a bunch of random article ideas. I put one down about a year and a half ago, never got to writing it yet. xD But stepping aside from our jobs for a second, how did you start Tanki? Did you randomly stumble upon it, or did a friend suggest it to you?

Funny story, I was on a holiday somewhere God knows where, in the middle of winter and there was this boy, who was geeking Tanki 24/7 and I was really annoyed by that. I kept asking him how can he play such a bad game and stuff like that... but once I got home, I was bored one night and decided to try it out myself, it seems like I liked it since I’m still here after two years.

That's a new one. Everyone just says "miniclip" or "a friend showed me it", but you... "I found some kid talking about this stupid game on vacation." :lol: What's your favorite thing about the game? For me, it's basically the people.

Yeah, I think the main reason I’m still here are the people I met.

Do you play other games besides Tanki? What else do you enjoy doing in your free time... If you have any.

Nope, in fact I never played any other game than Tanki Online (if we don’t count Club Penguin in 4th grade). I usually read novels or short stories but I also like to go jogging/running whenever I can.

You read, eh? You have a particular favourite, or do you just read to read?

I like psychologically difficult books (I’m a boring person, I know). Putting that aside, I love most of John Green’s books.

Yea, from what I know of him, he's a pretty nice guy. I never read any of his books though. But from that, let's jump into the question everyone wants to know, "how much do reporters get paid?" And that shall conclude our interview.

Uh I’m not allowed to tell, you should know yourself since you count as a Reporter, don’t you?

Not really  Anyways, before they catch me, I best be off. Thanks for your time, bye!

Bye!

Destrod
A man with the guts to call himself 'Yisroel.Rabin 2.0', and a former Amateur Writing Club member, behold, Destrod! Only two months into the paper, and he's already done quite a bit of work. Let's see what he's all about!

Hey there Destrod! Let's jump right into this! Tell our seven readers a bit about yourself.

@Destrod
Hello everyone. My name is Suhaib, I'm from the gloomy and doom-y country called Pakistan, and I love blueberry pie.

So, main key factors, name, nationality, favorite food. Got it! Now that you've introduced yourself, tell our readers what lead you to apply and eventually become a Reporter.

@Destrod
I wanted to become the greatest mult of all I was always inspired by the ingenious initiative the Reporter team takes in servitude to the community. While everyone else is out there making important decisions and endorsing improvements, the Reporter team makes the most vital contribution of all using nothing but an arrangement of words. This factor inspired me to become a Reporter.

Fascinating, I just did it for the avatar... Nah, just kidding, just like anything in life, you've got to want to do it to be able to do it. But stepping aside from that for a second, let's jump back a bit. When did you start Tanki Online? How did you discover it?

@Destrod
I started playing Tanki through the widely familiar game website by the name of Miniclip.com. I am proud to say that I am a pre-rebalance player, I started this addictive journey back in mid-2013.

Aw yas! We're from the same era! It's actually scary, knowing you've played a game for around 5 years, and there're those Veterans, who've played since 2010-ish! Oh, how much it's changed since then. If you had to pick one moment, which was your favorite moment over the years?

@Destrod
Right after the rebalance. The game was perfect, not to say that it is terrible now, but the balancing of every turret and hull was just right. Tanki still had an SLTV contract, and there were practically no glitches and bugs except for the dreaded lag of course. Y'know how pure and innocent a baby is when he/she is born? The rebalance era was the baby version of Tanki, It is in the teen ages at the moment apparently.

Teen ages, eh? Isn't that like the "rebellious and stupid age?" :lol: Anyways, how are you currently doing? And by that I mean, how are you enjoying the Reporter position?

@Destrod
It's interesting. Reporters are probably the only helpers who are really confusing for the community. Last night I got a message from a random guy who asked me why the HMTL5 version wasn't working. And then again, I was asked why player "XXX" hasn't been banned yet. I guess no one reads the newspaper. But other than that, the position is lovely, you get to meet a lot of cool people. After observing different helper groups, I will proudly say that the Reporters are the most interesting people on the forum. Not saying this because I am one, but because (I am one) I find this to be true.

How dare you say no one reads the Newspaper? We have like - We're news, we can lie, right? - We have like twenty thousand readers! Okey, well, yes; noobs do tend to see our avatars and thing "Oh, look, a gold admin, he'll ban this guy I don't like." And then send us some message with the worst grammar, which we'll never be able to decipher. What I do in situation like that is just troll our fellow forum mods by adding them to the PM and saying something like "Deal with this."Regarding us being interesting, there isn't much of "us" anymore. We used to have tons of reporters (we used to be mocked way to much for it), but no, we only have a few reporters, not to mention half of us are dead. However, if you mean to say I am one of the most interesting people on the forum, I completely understand. But on to the next question, before I create a whole article of its own. If you could bring back one former Reporter to work with, who would it be?

@Destrod
Night-Sisters. She was a rare jewel in my opinion, besides the fact that her humor skills would top both of ours combined, her administrative abilities being phenomenal, which is obvious since she was with the biggest Goldmult to assist her. And of course, her dedication to the Amateur Writing Section which has made it more successful than anyone could have imagined. Most of us Reporters are from the AWC for crying out loud. I remember having numerous conversations with her, all of which left me relaxed and happy. So yes, I'd gladly see her come back again, so that we can blame her for everything once more.

Ah, of course, Night-Sisters! Definitely one of the nicest helpers out there. Unfortunately, she chose school over living the no-lifing experience we call Tanki. Foolish choice, but each to their own. In my opinion, the whole old crew was a nice team. Contradiction, Fen, GoldRock, greyat, hogree, Rem, you know... Those guys. Let's jump into quick shot random survey questions. Whats your favorite turret?

@Destrod
Firebird. No explanation needed, it's just flaming awesome.

Hull?

@Destrod
Wasp.

If you had to change the color of the sky, what color would you change it to?

@Destrod
White.

Racist.

What's your favorite animal?

@Destrod
Dog.

Do you have a dog?

@Destrod
Yes, I do.

What's his or her name?

@Destrod
His name is Bruno.

Who's your favorite celebrity?

@Destrod
Emma Watson.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Do any of your real life friends play Tanki?

@Destrod
Real life friends? What are those?  :o

I know that feel. One last question before we conclude this interview. How much do Reporters get paid?

@Destrod
Did Flexoo put you up to this to get me fired, haha? Nice try. Not going down that easy!

Dang it! Turn to Flexoo He passed the test, we can't get rid of him! Turn back And that concludes this interview! Destrod, give our reads the biggest dab you've ever done say your farewells.

And that concludes that very odd interview! I hope you enjoyed meeting Destrod, who's apparently a Dabosoarus Rex.

Wonderful potential helpers, looking forward to see their work in the community and congrats Nyx for becoming full NS helper although it is been a while now.

Destrod on the other hand definitely seems like a replacement for Yisroel, seems like it is time he took a successful one who can replace his troll.  :lol:

Welcome welcome both of you. :)
