Magnum and why it should be nerfed

Why don't I contact some random player?  Well because I have been playing with Striker for a year and sort of know for myself you see. On my titan I blow up on the 5th shot of self splash with no Striker protection.  With protection I blow up on the 7th shot. I do not need to PM any one to tell me what I know.

The distance from the epicenter of the blast should also be taken into account. But I think you got the gist of it.

Without the ability to move the hull or barrel a Magnum will have to take a cue from Shaft and think before it starts firing. We are in agreement.

However, it would then be incredibly difficult to hit opponents. How about Z and X make the turret go up and down, while (only while charging) left and right keys make the barrel rotate.

That could work, but I'm not sure if Tanki would move too far away from the turret being immobile.

Considering how long this thread has existed and the matter is still under review, I am not holding my breath for anything to happen. I agree as with several others that magnum should be removed from the game completely. I know this is not going to happen, but I still say it. Because opinions of players should matter. I am going to list my suggestions to what to do with magnum:

 

1. Remove it completely and never bring it back

2. Make it much more difficult to use

3. Nerf it big time

4. Make it more difficult to use and nerf it

5. Remove it forever. Did I mention that already?

 

Devs have hard time balancing the maps even with the old turrets and magnum has added a whole new level of complexity. Only cover for a magnum would be tall buildings that would not allow a low angle shell to hit the ground. But even with this, the hugely OP splash damage would be enough to ruin the game balance.

 

Sometimes it is best to admit mistake and correct it.

The only viable solution, in my opinion, is to nerf it. Making is more difficult to use wouldn't really solve much. That was the thought process while it was being developed: make a difficult to use turret with high skill floor to compensate. Of course we know what happened: players got over the skill curve. If the skill floor is increased yet again players will get over it eventually as well.

What if we remove its splash damage capabilities, but keep its self damage disadvantage? :ph34r:

The biggest issue here isn't Magnum's fault, but with the maps. Highland wasn't intended for 10v10, Nor was Silence, Tribute and a couple others. Yes, they were modified but did that change much? NOPE. At best, it turned Highland into a camperfest.

Magnum is 100% balanced with how it was on the release day, yes.

As a magnum user, I believe they secretly nerfed magnum, at least 75% it takes at least 2 shots to kill opponents even with splash damage whilst DD is activated. I might be really wrong and I will take that responsibility.

Magnum has a large damage range. Max damage is almost twice min damage for all modifications.

Okay, I read your posts and comments etc on the forum about a lot of things and facepalm to each and everyone of them. And it is hard to agree with you on this one right know  <_<  :lol:

Its not hard to agree with me. I am not kidding. I have said so many times that Magnum is perfectly balaned as it always was during its initial release. When Magnum was released, no one complained about it. I don't understand why noobs on this forum complain about Magnum being overpowered. If Magnum had a problem with balance, the developers would of changed its parameters by now. Magnum must stay as it is because its perfect. Keep that in mind.

 

Please Maf can you kindly close this topic because Magnum does not need to be nerfed at all.
