How long is going to take to either get this update right or realize it is a flop like the last one. I can not join a battle on my second acct.........

It would be great if we could see which server our friends are in though -_-
Trying to force us into joining battles where you do not stand a chance. Or just simply a battle you do not care for at all

Server restarts should help with the lags and disconnects, I can only advice to join half-full battles.

If the giveaway gets an extension I will notify you, right now it seems unlikely.
Or you could realize this update is mistake the same as the last one. Match Making system..... Stop trying make us do something we do not want.

oh yeah, TANKI NEEDS TO SEPARATE BETWEEN EN AND RUS SERVERS

Yes Please! No communicatively and socially unskilled russians on seperate EN servers please!

How can a player at the very start of a match already show to have an overdrive star? Is that a hack or a "glitch"?

Two points to salvage what is left of Tanki before it is too late:

!. Reduce the Rank Brackets.

Based on past Tanki history, the unified battle list won't be repealed, so it is here to stay.  It's one biggest problem, through all the ranks is the large rank brackets.  Previously in another idiotic update you increased the rank brackets...now they need desperately to be reduced again.  I have an another account at rank 13 and I had to play against rank 25...That is preposterous!  That is low M1 (maybe even some with M0) vs M3 and M4.  Battles are now crammed full...I guess this was you goal Tanki, so now you could reduce the rank brackets and players might be able to enjoy battles more rather than just being cannon fodder.  It would be less frustrating to play against a more evenly matched field at all times and would solve some of the mission problems that people are having.  In fact, if the rank brackets were reduced to what the were a few months ago, most of the problems players are complaining about on this thread would not be problems any more. Incidentally,  I now spend a lot more time waiting around for a slot in an  appropriate battle to open up than I ever did surfing servers for a battle. Reduce the rank brackets and the game becomes less frustrating...Tanki keeps players.

2. Don't inflict MatchMaking on us.

What could MM possibly bring to the game at this point?  ...Other than giving players even less choice and control over the game.  All the battles are full and Tanki controls the index of maps that we play on.  MM will only force us onto maps we don't choose in battles we don't choose with rank brackets we have no control over.  I just can't see any possible advantage to MM after the unified battle list update....weren't full battles the goal of MM?   OK, goal accomplished...drop the MatchMaking idea and leave players a modicum of choice.  Tanki keeps players.

After a couple of days of this unified battle list, these two points stand out even more...please pay heed to these points Tanki and salvage what is left of this game.

You players need to know that the purpose behind this update is for your good, they may be experiencing issues now but I feel that they are able to solve it.

The idea for the update was good, but the implementation is completely stupid. The update has created more problems than it solved. Lags, battle joining issues, crammed battles, harder to do missions, higher rank brackets etc.

I used to occupy the top-3 position in almost evry battle I used to play but now I'm usually in the bottom-3 and have to compete with legends (almost all of them have m4's) with lots of drugs. This update has completely ruined the amt of crys i used to get.... Really bad update

No we don't need to know the purpose of the update. Tanki is a game. It's providing us a service. We are its customers. And as customers, we are to have a good time. That's what matters. And when we do have a good time, that is when we invest into the game. Get it?

Do you know the story of the man chooping trees?

When an old man walked through the woods, he spotted a guy who was chopping down trees with an axe. As the old man came closer, he saw that this poor worker was sweating all over, so he asked him, why he is working so extraordinary hard. Without stopping his work, the logger said "I have to cut a lot of trees, to reach my daily quota today. But it takes so long. So I have to work harder in order to keep up the service".

The old man looked at the axe, and on the little crumblings that it copped out of the tree with each hit. He said: "You axe is blunt.. you should sharpen it. Then you could be way more efficient".

"I can't" replied the worker as he raised the axe again, "I have no time to sharpen my axe, I have to work to catch up and keep up my quota".

Sometimes you have to interrupt the service, in order to provide a better service afterwards.

Not a good marketing strategy. It would be understandable if the game was in beta or something, but now that it's a released product you can't just do that.

From the technical point of view, it is very hard to live without that. This things are called "maintenance window", "predefined maintenance time", ... and usually specified in time-units/month (or in % per month).

The thing that Tanki was always bad (since I follow things here) was to

  1. tell in advance what the players can expect

(like "we do this and that feature, please be aware that it might not run as smooth as usual / please assist with decent error reports if you see problems / we have created a thread soley for error reports / example of error report can be found there (link) / there is at least one helper online who reads the reports and updates a "list of reported errors" in the main topic of that thread, so we get less duplicates) / ...

  2. Catch issues

(as we can not assure the availability of the service during the test, we decided to count this single day not as an interruption of your mission chain / we prolong every existing premium pass and pro pass for +1 day / ...)

  3. to run test for short periods of 1..2h, catch information, and then fall back by a server restart to the former version - so the players can play while the programmers analyse the information they got through the test.

Point 1 has already improved a bit.

why dont all the people moaning about the devs go play their own game they created using thousands of lines of code??

do people really expect the game to work flawlessly after every patch?

Ive certainly noticed that the response times are getting worse especially when i try and ping tanki online i dont know if thats caused by the amount of network traffic...

i dont know but in cases like this i think the devs should really implement it for a few days and see how things go and recall the update to work out bugs before a final release?

A problem ive been getting is the chrome browser becomes very unstable (cant even enlarge the screen without it freezing) have to refresh and log back in again... same can be said when i try and switch tabs

ROLL ON HTML 5

Any chance of a HTML 5 trial for the masses instead of the test server ^_^ i think they have pretty much ran out of allocated memory for flash hence all the bugs and crashes

oh and on the last note.... i like the battle list it means i don't have to troll 25 different servers just to find a battle

I play using the TO client

Today I also noticed crazy lags. On Barda DM, tanks were ice skating, zipping around and disappearing only to reappear at elsewhere. My tank would explode, then an enemy tank would approach and shoot me.

I also still had problems entering battles. One battle ran the entire time with an imbalanced team because no one could join and take that last spot.

I also received the Server Connection Closed message when trying to enter two or three battles over the course of the afternoon. Lost Temple was one.

Hope this helps

Probably not anytime soon. HTML5 is still quite raw and optimized, and given how many people are going nuts about lag after the unified battle list, it would be even worse if HTML5, which can currently run 60 FPS only on lowest settings, is tested.

Make the rank brackets smaller....the battles are to complete capacity with this unifryed battle list, so give the players a break and make the rank brackets smaller.

Narrower rank brackets will make the competition more closely matched...balance like Tanki used to spout...balance.  12 and 14 ranks higher (or lower) is too wide.  Rank brackets should encompass about 5 ranks...7 at the very most...not 12 or 14...but 5...or 7.  You would still have full battles and the lower ranked players wouldn't be just fodder.  The frustration level would be reduced dramatically and some strategy might re-enter the game instead of just Agario style gameplay a la Tanki; shoot shoot 3 shoot shoot shoot 2 shoot 1 shoot shoot shift shoot shoot shoot die repeat.
