Unified Battle List and Chat channels

As an example, there are frequently XP/BP sandbox pro battles on EU5 and EU2. A few, but there are some. But -> They are soooo easy to find. You simply activate [CTF] as game mode filter, then you scroll down (upper half normal battles, lower half pro battles), you scroll towards the sandbox map and there you are.

I prefer Polygon or Noise :D Noise is CTF, but Polygon is often CP. I will jus thave to scroll until I see "P" maps, it's not a big deal. But a filter with all the XP battle would make it easier, and I would also probably try XP in less popular maps if one is available.

I really like the unified battle list and chat channel update. I do agree that we need a better lobby chat interface because Tanki Online has to be prepared for the upcoming matchmaking system and HTML5 which will add a brand new interface to the game.

 

1. Will the unified battle list cause lags due to the long list of battles?

 

2. The good thing here is that players will no longer need to switch between servers to find the battle they want.

 

3. What about the clan chat?

 

4. Shall there be a unified clan chat in the near future?

 

5. What will replace the server switch button?

 

I would like to learn more about the unified battle list and chat channel. I have read the new announcement on this top post.

What does it means ? 

There will be just EU 1 ?

It will look as if there was only one server, one EU1, but there will still be many servers in the background.

 

It is a good change, but the beginning could be rocky, it will all depend in the system that manages it, the rank bracket ranges, and the filters.

I would like to learn more about the unified battle list and chat channel. I have read the new announcement on this top post.

1. most likely the lag inside the battles will not be affected.

The lobby might feel a bit slower within a few days after the update (as usually after each update) as the code is not optimized yet and they are collecting more statistics then usual.

3. you can check the last vlog regarding that, there is a screen that shows the new interface. I don't know it by heart now.

5. nothing, it's simply removed and the buttons on the left will slide to the right. The xp-bar will grow a bit.

Since the servers are all getting merged, there will be 100's of battles and lots of PRO battles too. Maybe if we add more filters like XP/BP or Just XP, Only Pro Battles and a few others it would make it easier not having to scroll and look in and out for that 1 perfect battle.

Ok! interesting!! Hope this turns out to be a good update without any problems and side effects. And yes, Removing those "Catch a gold box", "Finish 1st in batlle x2 and x3" mission's is absolutely good move (I hope this news is legitimate) Those missions suck and its annoying.

don't blame me for multing when i do nothing but fool around in a team battle. you basically asked for it when you removed the finish 1st missions.

Finish first missions will still be there, the only thing that will change is those 'finish first twice' and 'finish first 3 times'.

Well xD getting first once is already hard enough when soon they will probably only be 10v10 so I assume this is why.. but if you're that pro to it on the first battle you join, kudos to you :p

Well Tanki, I think you have stuck your foot in it this time for sure.   Missions, for many, will become much harder to complete.  I base this on how many people I see at all hours of the day doing missions on slow servers in sparsely populated battles.

 

As with everything you update there will be less choice now.  

 

Less choice, harder missions, less in-game income = fewer players

 

As I have said prevously, I expect of see a 25% drop in players within a month of tomorrow.  As the missions take longer, more players will break their mission chains.  When the mission chain is broken, there is no reason to log in everyday.  Many players will become just casual players...a game here or there, but nothing serious like folks that need to keep up their mission chain.

 

Oh well, everything changes...

No, all the battles that were on EU1, EU5 etc will just be all in one battle list. Technically battles will still happen on different servers. However they will appear in ONE unified list.

how is it harder? I usually play in 12 vs 12 and battles last 15 minutes right now, when it becomes 10 minutes it should be easier because you can finish first 3 times in half an hour instead of 2 times right now.

Technically battles will still happen on different servers, but they will appear in ONE unified list. So I'm guessing an algorithm would distribute the battles across servers based on load and other stuff, that would mean significantly reduced lag, we'll see though. :d

Actually, servers shouldn't be overloaded anymore after this update, since battles will be distributed over all the servers instead of concentrated on a few servers. With this update, servers won't be unified, just the battle list (the lobby).
