The Rise of the Abandoned

Transmission from g-force

Psst...

It's me, @g-force. I need to tell you something really important. This transmission will soon be terminated so listen carefully. It may be hard to believe but it's true. The code of the game has been tampered with. The result is very terrifying. Let me explain what exactly has transpired.

It was just another regular day in Tanki Online. Everything seemed perfect. The noise pollution due to endless war, the destruction of millions of tanks in combat, what could go wrong? It was 13:42 UTC when everything started to go wrong. Some strange tank joined the battle. His username was in a violet color, unlike the standard red, blue or green color. I wasn't sure if he was supposed to play for our team or the opposite team. Then suddenly, lightning struck and the sky turned gray, the air smelled acid, the ground felt like it was going to collapse any moment and the time seemed to slow down. In the middle of the battle came a bright flash as a portal opened. Something weird happened suddenly and everything was a blur. Then the portal disappeared. I had no clue as to what happened. I searched the map. Only half the tankers were at the field. Where did the others go? No idea. Ran away?

I took up some courage and teamed up with the others. Amongst them were @ZanarkTheWiz and @sparkl_awesome. @ZanarkTheWiz was in his fancy new Ricochet M2 and Viking M2 with a nice coat of Rustle paint and @sparkl_awesome stood mighty in his Touche kit. There was an eerie silence in the entire map. Everyone was terrified. Then I noticed something. At the blue team's base, there was a mysterious tank that was steaming hot. He looked... very futuristic. But he looked similar to some project Tanki scientists abandoned long ago. I zoomed in with my built-in camera system. The tank was a Wasp and Thunder and on his hull was a text painted in chromium, "TankiOnline 2.0".

I was taken aback. How did a tank from the abandoned project reach here? We had no time to think. The other tankers began firing at the tank. Surprisingly, a force field stood against all the shells they fired. The future tank replied, "Get ready to die, folks". He shot at one tanker and that tanker just went up in flames. Same happened with the other tankers. What did we do? We wisely fled. I don't know where my companions fled but the tank from 2.0 gave me a really hot pursuit. I somehow managed to evade him and now I am here sending you this transmission. Please send this report to the developers that Tanki Online 2.0 has somehow managed to collide with Tanki Online. I should be moving now before...

Approved.

-Minor grammar and phrasing corrections.

Sometimes, it looks much better to use single words rather than words combined with "very". For example, instead of "very fast", you can use the words "suddenly", which makes for much better reading.

I quite like the idea of this. I'll be waiting for the next installment  ;)

Since you are transmitting this, I assume on radio, you could insert some static noise time to time in the story. Makes it more realistic. I would also suggest different font colours, colours that suit the dark theme.

How was that supposed to be funny except for the part where we fled?

I thought my story created a sense of fear and thrill...

Oh and it is a story, not an article  ;)

I noticed that you did a bad job with the skybox. Let me suggest something.

First, take the picture with skybox off. Then go photoshop or something like that, and make the solid colour of the skybox transparent. Then place it over your desired skybox picture.

:)

For more accuracy with how the tanks looked like in 2.0, check this out.

I have TO 2.0 blueprints. But it is not easy to model the looks 100% exact cuz I am not a graduated animater. So I made some modifications. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion.
