Rarity of XC games

Ive played a bit of unofficial xc recently on my lower account using m1 striker and m2 hornet and it was the most fun ive had in a while on tanki, it was great.

 

What i want to discuss is why these battles are so rare, why is xpbp so much more popular and what can be done to increase the popularity of this (in my opinion) great game mode.

I never really liked Striker, so never bought it but it does intrigue me as to why these battles are so rare. Considering most people say it's fun, it's quite strange that no XC battles can be seen. DR was an awesome format in its first 3 hours of release, the Railgun reload was accidentally made really fast and gameplay was amazing. Then they put out a Server Update and removed it, thus killing DR completely.

Both modes are great, but I have a soft spot for DR because it's the father to XP.  :ph34r:

They are fun in small doses but I can't play it all day every day. :LOL:
