[Halloween Special] Spook Me Stiff

Does it have to be about Tanks, or can it be about humans too? Its not very scary when you're using words like "hulls" or "turrets". I tried it mutliple times with other peoples stories by switching out certain words with Tanki related vocabulary, and it just sounded stupid.

P.S. I do not plan on using anyone else's story for the contest I just used it to see how it would sound with Tanki vocab.

It does not have to be about tanks and you can definitely put humans in your story. It just have to be in some way linked to Tanki, but that does not mean that you have to use every turret or hull in the game.

Yay i got an idea :D but i'll get a ban forever if my story is similar to others? That's the scary part of this :"v

Nope. You won't get a forever ban if your story shares some similarities with other stories. That's okay because it's practically impossible for you to know what will others write about. We control the plagiarism, a.k.a. a word by word copy-pasting of someone else's work.

Can it be made up?

Definitely.

how will plagiarism be judged? Especially if everyone is using Google Forms, so nobody sees anything else.

There are plenty of tools that can uncover it.

Well, you can potentially go up to 1 000 words. As stated in the rules, you can make it slightly shorter or longer (+/- 200 words). I will also link you this article written by tweezers; http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=349270. It's a perfect example of compact, powerful story that unfolds in few perfect paragraphs.

That story really inspired me to write more. Thanks, idk how I missed it :)

Will a simple paragraph just brushing by tanki suffice?

I would recommend you keep religious figures, or politics, out of this. You can make fictitious characters, purely fictitious.

Hi Happy Halloween guys and girls. Good Luck

Halloween isn't supposed to be happy :/. It's supposed to be scary. Doh.  <_<

that's the thing, i don't want to have to make up entire characters and their backgrounds myself. and because this game is international, most likely the ghosts i grew up with aren't known by people from other parts of the world. i could use well known non religious ones like frankenstein but that'd be copyright infringement.

the imaginary characters and stories from the bible and quran aren't copyrighted and everyone knows about them.

purely fictious? jesus and allah are purely fictious.

The writer of Frankenstein died in 1851, more than 1.5 centuries ago. Hence, her copyright on her work is no longer legit. Frankenstein is currently free of any kind of copyright. Copyrights in Europe are not valid after about 70 years after the death of the official copyright holder.

Jesus and Allah are fictitious, agreed, but they are controversial and religious nonetheless, right? Tanki isn't the place for social reform, so :(

i only know about frankenstein from the universal movies and i have never ever read the original novel. and the universal version of him is copyrighted. even if i do read that original novel just for this nobody will know what i'm talking about because i doubt anyone has read it, and i don't want to go through the trouble of explaining everything in that novel in my own version, because if i directly copy it from the novel that's be plagarism nonetheless because it's not my own work.

Agreed with Magenta on this one. I would definitely try to avoid anything that is related to religion as it usually leads to lot of controversies and fights. I also don't know how you want to link gods with this game. It does not sound as a good match up to me, at all.

Besides, creating your own character isn't that complicated and I would not even think about creating a whole background for the character considering the word limit. If you will spend words on describing the characters you won't have enough space to develop the plot.

DW regardless of which version one has watched or read, everyone mostly knows the character and significance of Frankenstein in literature. If they don't, they are mult noobs.

Precisely. Try to avoid Michael Crichton styled writing in short writings, putting a full background to a character doesn't make sense.

Scary Halloween guy's and girls

*facepalm*
