that's the thing, i don't want to have to make up entire characters and their backgrounds myself. and because this game is international, most likely the ghosts i grew up with aren't known by people from other parts of the world. i could use well known non religious ones like frankenstein but that'd be copyright infringement.

BTW, can I write my story in the AWS and then submit the link in the Google Form? I am of the opinion that the formatting of the story really matters, and it's difficult to get the desired formatting in a Google Form. I won't edit my story after publishing, and you can verify this... if I did, there would be the "Edited by Magenta, 27 Oct 2017 - 11:39."  kind of mark.

I mentioned that presentation will be judged, however it won't be as important as the plot and quality of writing. So I would avoid posting entries in the AWS just to make it visually more appealing.

Just a quick response to this. One person believes there is God and other does not. They are both free to believe whatever they want. However, such discussion is not allowed, because it's already turning into an argument, so in case you need to discuss it further, do so in PM.

What are the judges really looking for to get u to win?

Plot should be good, and Grammar should play a good role in it. Imagine reading a story containing grammar errors.

Plus, Go to any bookstore and surf any spooky books it helps you a lot but, make sure mix all stuff every suspense in one to give you a better chance of winning. 

Make sure to read the Rules. One single mistake can lead you to eliminate.
