I agree, although preventing spam is not very simple. If you block one way, players will find another. You can block repeating words or repeating messages, but then players will start adding random little changes. In the end there's no way to distinguish between spam and real chatting programatically.

 

For example, look at the following text:

jfasd isgsdj aodsjf ngareo nfosaf ngiarf ngioa nfioeaf gioarfanlk nvoiarfm nigoaefm gioeaf fnaeoiwfn noaeifn eanfaof

 

These are different words separated by spaces. It doesn't look like spam unless you understand that these words have no meaning, but checking if these words appear in the dictionary is a bad idea both because it's a lot of work for the server (which will result in lag, and for very little gain which is not worth it), and because the player might be typing with spelling errors or in a different language.

I kind of wish you wouldn't mess around with these beginner ranks so much. It would be nice if stuff could remain permanently.

 

Here are a few examples of what I mean.

 

Daily Missions - These used to be unlocked at the rank of . Then you went ahead and changed them so they were unlocked at Private ().

 

M0 Hulls/Turrets - These used to have their own fixed (and different) unlock ranks. Then (for a short while) they all could be unlocked at Recruit rank. Now, they've changed again to have different unlock ranks as they were at the beginning.

 

Starting Crystal Amount - This has changed a lot recently, varying anywhere between the range of 1,000 to 5,000 crystals.

 

 

And also, if you purchase supplies through a bundle/kit via the shop, you can use them even before you've actually unlocked them in-game. Is this not a massive bias towards buyers, even if it only lasts a few ranks?

 

Just a thought.

And my best friend whose friendship I value extremely highly, happens to be a Commander and therefore I won’t be able to play with him. As far as I know, I would have to rank twice or thrice to play with him, and that’s Beyond my possible amount of playing.

In my opinion , the game was alright before the whole chat update but after it things get a little bizarre. I hope I'm not the only one. Let's hope it doesn't get worse.  :unsure:  :mellow:

Shouldn't you guys be fixing the current in-game lag and bugs? I mean a lot of players are complaining about battle joining, so it would probably be wise to fix that first and then proceed with new updates.

It is a programming language. Tanki Online was until now a Flash game (which is a different platform for game development, with a different programming language), but now it is transitioning to HTML5 which has several advantages over Flash. The main reason to move to HTML5 is that at year 2020 Flash will no longer be supported, so the game developers don't really have a choice here and have to move to a different platform, and they chose HTML5.

We are fixing the issues with the last update and at the same time work on the Lobby. Both go hand in hand.

No, HTML5 and Matchmaking are not related. HTML5 is basically a way to run the game (kind of like Flash currently does), while Matchmaking is a feature in the game.

at Captain, I could play with Legends, and that suited me just fine. I could hold my own against a slightly under-average legend in XP/BP, andas far as I know didnt cause problems for my team. Now, if I can't play with m higher ranked friends, I probablty will lose the wish to play tanki, and wont try to.

tanki has come far away from things that were so simple n fun to play. paints , crystals drops, easy maps, easy to join battle and all. 

Now they r getting worst day by day. new useless senseless updates every now n then. they make change without much thinking n after few days they make update again to change d same things. n again to make previous things better. this is not gonna stop when u hv choosen d wrong path. all creepy n boring things started with MU updates. tanki's greediness will lead them to d end soon.
