Battle strategies?

How do you go about capturing a control point or flag? How would you kill only the hardest-to-kill-drugger noob on the enemy team?

If you don't mind giving away your secrets, share them here!

Mine are waiting for the big guys to be left on their knees for me to blow em down form far away like a bous with my Rail. I usually sneak about with DA and SB to cap, if I'm not hit too many times and my Hornet being Hornet, becomes impossible to control. I like to squeeze through a tight spot and drop a mine so any chasers will either have a tank too fat to fit, or will blow up.

Last night in a CTF in Industrial Zone, a teammate was going for what looked like an M3 version of the Annihilator kit. Had him nearly dead, but got rekt. There was an RK dropping, by that tiny tunnel into one of the buildings. I dropped from above, took it, landed on him, mined him and he wasn't as dead as I thought since he didn't die. Pulled a 180 and missed. Luckily the same firebird spawned nearby and saved me xDD

My typical flag grabbing op is to put on my favorite Hunter+Twins M2 combo ( might not work for everyone cause I have Twins M2.8 and decent M2 modules) gather a powerful teammate and an isida if I can and head to the base . its a good idea to also wait until your Overdrive is charged and to take a route that has DA DD and Speed drops along the way so you arrive at enemy base with full tiara, and from there I pretty much destroy the enemy defense and then try to make a run for it

Most players dedicate their time to steal the flag so I play defense/support most of the time. I stay near the flag in a hidden spot so I can surprise and expel would-be flag carriers. I use Smoky so my enemies won't see where I'm shooting from. When my team has enough (and competent) defenders I help our attackers by bringing in extra firepower and sharing overdrive (I tell them to share their overdrive too but most of them don't understand or are too selfish to do it) If the other team is too weak and has no chance of winning I just go on a killing rampage  (Magnums and Shafts are my first victims in this particular case) As for TDM (my favorite mode) I try to team up with a fellow Smoky user so we can take down multiple targets at once, but most players I encounter don't want to team up  :o so all I do is roam about (stealthly) and steal kills.

Killing druggers is easy, it just takes Magnum or Striker and DD. You could also use Shaft, but it's not as effective if you miss.

Using double damage makes you a drugger aswell. But you're right, the only way to kill druggers is to use drugs yourself to cancel out the other player's drugs.

There is no strategy and there is no skills. All what we're doing right now is to use up drugs and overdrives and wait for them to use again.

It's either that or going trough the most miserable time in the battles.

Just before going into enemy territory, I take out a can of spray paint and paint my team identifiers the same color as the enemy so I can blend in. I pretend to defend the flag and when no one is looking, I grab it and run.

I'm not very good at grabbing flags. I see players waltz in, grab the flag and waltz out. I waltz in, grab the flag, but I don't waltz out. But if I'm in enemy territory and I see a golden opportunity, I'll load SB and run like the Devil is after me.

Because of my inadequacies in grabbing the flag, I'll give support, instead. If I see a couple team mates going in for the flag, I'll join them, try to keep the enemy busy while someone grabs the flag and makes his escape. If it's more practical, I'll run interference by blocking a pursuing tank with my own tank. (The big sacrifice for the team). Anything to give the flag bearer a few extra seconds to clear enemy territory.

In CP, if the enemy is heavy on the CPs, I'll at least try to do a little bit of damage to the whole group instead of trying to kill one while the others are at full health. By damaging the group maybe I can get their health down enough to make them easy kills for my team mates so they can change the CP color. But if I see the enemy's CP is clear, I'll go ahead and start changing the color.

A strategy I've used a few times in enemy base and home base is to ram the front of my tank into a building keeping the tracks going forward and the turret spinning. Sometimes, the enemy will kill me, but usually they will give me a couple pot shots. When I don't respond they leave me alone. When the coast is clear, I'll go about doing what I came there for. I've used this strategy when guarding our flag. When their back is turned, I load a DD and shoot them in the back.

Another strategy I've seen several times is for 2 or 3 tanks sit in separate respawn zones and don't move. When the enemy comes in, and they see no movement, they go about their business. They think the player is AFK. The tank the enemy has passed will load a DD and shoot. If the enemy survives, the others playing 'possum will shoot.

Geezes, you can't trust anyone anymore.

If you're playing rover with a flag runner I highly recommend brushing and pushing at the corner of pursuing enemies to mess up their shots or take them for the flag runner. As a last resort you could turn yourself sideways so your body blocks them for a few precious seconds.

My fav thing to do <3

But then their horrible internet connection makes them leap-frog over you

Use the terrain to your advantage. Hulls with a small hitbox like Wasp can hide easily if there are a lot of places to squeeze in.

Give us an image of an example?

I don't know if this is what you were trying to say, but on certain maps there are passages and spaces between obstacles that only wasp/hornet can fit through.  An example is the space between the rock walls by the blue base on Serpuchov.   This is valuable when you have the flag and are trying to shake a pursuer, but don't get stuck!- that's such an irritating feeling. ;)

Activate drugs in the following order

0-Spawn

1-DA

2-SB (after short cool down), start searching for an enemy tank

3-DD (by the time you find an enemy, this cool down should be clear)

The above takes about 10-15 seconds and gives you a good 20-30 seconds with full drugs to wreck tanks. Picking up supply drops from the map speeds this up and extends your OP life.

It can also work for the red base's buildings at their spawn, hiding between the wall and the building and laying mines is an easy way to keep a flag.
