You don't get the choice. What I meant was, do you think you would have known you weren't born if you weren't? Things along that line.

I am born as me, mydoom.exe. However, let's say, in an alternate universe, I'm not mydoom.exe, but someone else. The question is whether or not I, as that other person, would have known that mydoom.exe was not born.

 

And the answer is no. Of course not. In both scenarios, you identify as one person, and that is you. You would not know that you could be someone else, and thus you wouldn't know about that person.
