I personally agree with this update, but I'd like to give it some time to see how dead the section really becomes. But, honestly I don't like people who just go there to increase post count cos apparently it's cooler to have 10k useless posts rather than contributing to a proper discussion.. but if the section dies down completely, then I'd rather they revert the update... we'll see in a couple of weeks :)

Please, someone explain, why is there so much fuss about this?  Surely you'd judge someone on the quality and content of their posts, rather than the number of posts they've made? Why does post count matter so much to people?

These people don't understand how much i have gained from this. My posts went way up, and I gained fame. With that fame came self-esteem and relaxing and you guys payed attention and that helped me relieve some of my stress. #highschoolproblems

Bad boii, if this happens and players don't stop using the Forum Games section by playing the games normally and the section continues to roll like it did before despite the posts no longer being counted in there, then this will happen but in the meantime it depends on the players since it is still under testing. I'm wondering how many 15k users will go below 1k if not less.  :ph34r:

Preach, Maf! I agree with every word here. I would be glad if Forum Games died, it serves no real purpose and time can be better spent in productive conversations in places like Game Discussion, News and Announcements, Ideas and Suggestions, etc. I really dislike that people think that spamming Forum Games makes you "cool." Yes, before you nugs go around calling me a hypocrite, I did spam Forum Games, too. Yes, it was partially to increase my post count but ultimately, I realised that I don't care. I enjoy participating in lively debates as opposed to adding 1 to the post above me or minusing two from the post above me. It's quite boring, if I'm being honest. I'd love to see players instead sparking some interesting conversations in Game Discussion - where the real good stuff is. Lank rose a very good point somewhere, that we shouldn't treat Post Counts as prestigious things. In part I agree, doing these sort of updates indirectly imply that having a high Post Count is important, it isn't entirely. However, it does signify some things that are important, such as (but not limited to): experience, who to go to with queries, who to trust when seeking information, etc. Sure, Avatars for Staff members serve the same purpose but I'd really like to see the Forum crowd engaging in lively conversations, smart conversations, instead of mindlessly spamming some stupid Forum Games that no one cares about.

Anyways, that's my rant done, I really like this new update and would be more than happy to see the posts from Forum Games removed (like a forum-wide post recount) again.
