Not sure, but I think it doesn't change. Your keyboard has a particular configuration and certain key combinations won't work. So no, it doesn't get worse and it doesn't get better. And as far as I know, it affects every game equally.

 

However, if games have different controls, then the ghosting might be worse in some games compared to others. For example, if one game requires you to only use WASD and click with the mouse, then you'll most likely be alright, but if another game requires you to use Tab, Shift, Space, QERFZXC, 123456 and arrow keys (this is what I use in Tanki), then you will end up pressing more keys simultaneously and are more likely to have issues with ghosting.

It does not get worse over time as it is not a hardware failure issue. Its just how your keyboard is built which stops it from being able to accept a number of different keys at once.
 
It effects the whole keyboard, wether you are using the keyboard in games or for everyday tasks, though in the latter in may not be as noticeable as you don't tend to use many keys at once.
