It is with great sadness that we have had to close Tanki Online

Recommended Posts

Tanki Online has been a labor of love and we are deeply saddened, that due to various and mostly financial reasons, we can no longer sustain ongoing development.

Over the past years we have grown an amazing community and we will miss you all.

Your enthusiasm and creativity has been such a joy to everyone on the Tanki Online team.

Thank you to our loyal fans and members for all of your devotion and support over the years.

This is, of course, a fake news ...

yet, as I see the projects fast fading away, it may become a reality quite too soon !

I even dare to assume, that this NY well might be the last one for TO.

What does your second sense and intuition tell you - do you think that the official death of TO is mol imminent ?

I would support 65% of this topic

please don't ban me I just lied

Tanki had increased its updates over a lot and what's more i hate halloween maps because they are in DM format.

Pro passes are way to high.. and i need to concreate crystals on module now, headache X2 for me.

Over updates had ruin my idsa M3 in priyamjnv account.

Using shaft feels me like i am drunken it shakes a lot.

using hammer i feel like ... am i using ricochet ? it kills me over 20 feet far even firebird won't do it.

Hackers fly like bird and catch our prey... gold box

Tweaking all turrets... trying to fix which is not broken..

i just came to know that my B-day has arrived when shaft is Re-load its turret.

Test server Closed.. when it is opened.. loading...

loading... 5 mins later loading... 30 minutes later login appears . this was done in my friend's gaming laptop still slow..

Games partially dying

75% of the average 30k-40k are usually old players(high ranks) or old players who created new accs.

most new players don't stay anymore because it is harder to; make friends ; get crystals (if your inexperienced).

Unless your a old player like me who knows which turrets/hulls are good and which battles are good you won't rank up fast or earn crystals fast.

In 2013/2014/2015 the average amount of players were above 40k-50k and at around 70k-80k when there were festivals. Now the max you can get in a festival is 50k....

With no new turrets, hulls or features this game will die.

Tanki recognises this so they're trying to make as much money as they can, such as ; Ridiculously overpriced paints in the shop "$59 for a animated paint" "Goldboxes for $1" "Making drug kit 1500 only avaliable in the shop.

Always cracks me up when people say this game is doomed.

Get up to the legend ranks and see how much of the buyer packages are being sold....hugely expensive animated paint packages are being sold in their droves. The shop paints, loads of players have them now. Premium, tons of people have permanent premium. Shop tank kits, I'd bet they sell like hot cakes at MU sale time. If you have a a nice amount of crystals, buy a m3 kit and take advantage of the sales with earned crystals and you have an instant M4...Nice!. Gold boxes are big sellers too.

The entire currency system seems to ensure that Russians have cheaper access to high-spec equipment. Or a lot of them have been playing for years and have amassed powerful garages. To catch up ASAP the Non-Russians have to buy using their more valuable currencies, which converts into a nice lump of roubles.....Even if this whole currency theory is false, it still costs a heck of a lot of money to play catch up as quickly as possible.

Not to mention the drugs kits, Look at this topic.http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=339307

Discounting the guy at the top(looks like a glitch to me)The other 199 highest druggers(no pun) have used around 81 million drugs between them.

Divide that by the 7500 drugs that you get in a kit = around 10,800 kits worth of drugs used.

Some of those drugs may have been freebie drugs, most were definitely not. 10 thousand kits are worth a tidy amount of roubles, no?.....and that's without the many thousands of other drug kit buyers of all ranks that aren't on that list.

It's a lucrative game. If it wasn't they wouldn't be wasting money with continuing development and would have trashed the whole project when they had the chance(Tanki-X launch)....as long as it's lucrative, Tanki will survive.

The game will die soon because devs have no money and will force you to buy login pass every week

What are you on about, John? Tanki won't shut down as long as it is getting revenue of some sort. You should see the amount of buyers these days. To put it simply, more buyers = smaller chance of TO shutting down.

The Russians don't publicly divulge their income, net worth, gross worth or any other kind of worth. But I would venture to say that TO is a multi-billion dollar business. Either someone is getting mighty rich or they are supporting some other project behind the scenes that has nothing to do with Tanki. So, no, tanki is not dying, just full of financial surprises.

Unity does not have browser support, and since the majority of players play TO in a browser, the developers decided to use Unity for a separate game. Currently TO is being converted to HTML5 and I think that is alright.

There is little doubt that the game is going to its end ... or may be is being forced to fade for reasons I cannot comprehend ...

I've been around almost since the beginning (joined in the pre-shaft era) and there is NO comparison between the gameplay back then, or even 3-4 years ago, to the current noobish situation, which vaporizes any desire to stay more than a few minutes in any battle !

The frequent, various and fundamental changes, each one more idiotic than the previous one, are ruining what players need most - stability and predictability !

Hardly someone in his clear mind will now be supporting financially an enterprise that is devaluing his money so often so cheap !

Add to this also the total technical incompetence of the current TO team - and you may guess what will be the outcome ...

(gosh - the office plankton in Perm now struggles for years just to physically maintain the game ... and those who created it, did it for 3-4 months !)

So, I have no official financial stats, yes, but basis my observations and experience here I am quite sure that TO is coming a bitter end ... less than a year I would say

@ @Stinger911...That pretty much says it all. You're right it's not just TO that is caught up in this financial balance. I've been playing some of the WarGaming games and they have a good balance. You don't need to spend a lot of rwm to fairly compete. It's absolutely possible to have a fun gaming experience without having to spend $$$ every month. Sure, there's are those who only spend, say, $10.00 to $20.00 per month, but at that rate, how long does it take to build up enough equity to buy a fully upgraded turret or hull?

I'm a Non-Buyer because I have rw responsibilities that are much more important than a game to put on a credit card. That means, I'm up against Buyers who have the money to waste. Therefore, Buyers already have fully upgraded turrets and hulls or have the money (crystals) to spend on the next MU as soon as it becomes available, while Non-Buyers are still trying to save enough to buy the 3rd or 4th MU on a M0. Buyers already have a fully upgraded M0 and are waiting until they rank up to buy an M1.

On top of that, you have the Protection Modules. Here, again, Buyers can buy fully upgraded Protection Modules as soon as the opportunity presents itself. Some Non-Buyers don't bother with Protection Modules, they would rather spend the crystals on a turret or hull. But those who do spend the crystals on a Protection Module, then they are up against a dilemma of which to spend the crystals on....a hull, a turret, or the Module. For fair competition, this game has become a Buyer's Market. A Non-Buyers recourse is to buy more supplies, which takes crystals away from what has been saved for MU's. It's a vicious cycle.

Let me rephrase what you said:

"I don't like the game, so it's going to die."

Still is kinda like a waste of time to have Tanki X IMO, I hope it doesn't end like Tanki 2.0, that's one of my fears about that

And I forget about that lol, but I think the game would be somehow slower, I have been testing some HTML5 3D experiments and some of them are slow, so I hope the HTML5 version would be the same as Flash

Tanki X has been for about 2 years now, I think we can safely say that it will be fine. Tanki 2.0 in it's most complete state wasn't really much more than a tech demo and didn't get anywhere near as far as TX.

If HTML5 had worse performance than Flash no one would switch to it.

Let me rephrase what you rephrased (will be a bit long, but will correctly reflect the reality):

"People like me (and my associates) don't like the game as-it-is today, so it's going to die relatively soon because it cannot sustain for long without people like me (and my associates) who are no longer supporting the project financially, because the core and essence of it have been destroyed because of the devs' stupidity and greed"

Hope clear now !

Wow! You and your "associates" are the sole source of revenue for the game! I never knew that you were responsible for the existence of TO.

They won't close TX, but TO is suffering from its existence. The profits that are made from TO, portions of them have to given to TX because ATM it doesn't have the player base/income to support itself. Thats why there is such a push to 'buy' in TO right now because they need to support two games at once.

I'd like to ask you the same question.

You have no figures or proof to support your clam that "Tanki is going to die."

The only evidence you have provided is that you and your "associates" (who I assume to be your friends) are dissatisfied with the game and will no longer support it. This is anecdotal evidence, and can't be taken seriously. You and your friends are not necessarily representative of the TO buyer demographic, and to base a pretty bold claim off of this is quite self-important. I notice this trend in your other posts as well.
