Nostalgia (Tanki during its first 5 years)

Oh man I remember the most common combination back in the days, Twins M3 + Wiking M0 and the paint Alien :D

This was one of my first goals to get, after that I aimed for Shaft M3 because as someone said earlier - it was OP and for example you could hold on silence solo one side without big problems.

 

Also the Hard style looked completely different, now we play mostly on full Vikings but in the past most of the players had Mammoth + Freeze/Rico.

Paints descriptions right now are pretty much the descriptions they used to have. 

Dictator: Strong as a Titan, faster than Wasp!

 

This also goes to show that the old game was actually pretty limited to what you could use, compared to now. If you were fighting Marshalls with a Titan and Twins, people would laugh at you and call you a mult, and you would be dying. Nowadays you can't go most Legend battles without seeing that combo. :lol:

 

Still, I like how the stats and costs scaled up linearly and evenly compared to each other. That was some true balance. It's hard to keep track of all the random and ever-changing stats and costs nowadays. Especially the costs; the fact is there was also no need to spend millions of crystals for "M4" because MUs did not exist ... once you bought M3 you were done! To some that might be boring, but it was fair.

 

I never liked that you could have all M3s by Lieutenant though...I was still struggling to earn Tier 2 M1s. :( I wasn't a smart spender back then.

Yes, they are from before the rebalance.

That was one major flaw, because then there was no 'drive' to continue ranking up, other than your own satisfaction. But then the prices would have also increased.

Supernick wouldn't tell me what music he was using in a particular video so I downloaded his entire video and transformed it into an MP3 file; to be used under this video... only to find out later that he put it in his description.

 

 

Aiii mission Brigadier... the tank I wanted for such a long time.

 

 

Somehow, the trees/bushes look way better then they do currently.

I agree! When looking at some older videos I was suprised to see how sharp everything was including the hulls. The colors pop aswell. The 1.100 update was designed to reduce lags by decreasing the resolution of prop-texture.

 

There is a noticable difference in how it was right after 1.100 and the current graphics though, I think they improved a lot. I remember how plain and washed out the colors were; like taking pictures with a dirty lens or american soap series (though without excessive saturation)

Back then, Iran was a heavy map to play on compared to other maps though. FPS was a lot lower when playing that map. Not sure if that had anything to do with the shadows.

Non- square hitboxes were (and still are) the reason to the lags.
