Does paint affect which player you attack?

So when I'm playing deathmatch battles (or any battle really), and let's say I'm using firebird. If I see a guy with a pretty low pain like lava, and it has a good 25 protection, but I also see a guy with zeus, but with 0 protection, I tend to go for the lava paint because the paint makes me feel like that's an easier kill. Does this happen with anyone else?

There's now two separated things:

Paints (for decoration purposes)

Modules (for protection against turrets)

I know that but even tho zeus can have 0 protection against me I still have the mindset that it's extremely hard to kill and go after someone else

When I where green, I get killed less. When I wear some more expensive paints on an alt, I get killed

people i target for no reason

1) people from rival clans
2) anyone from a clan that's not mine or my ally
3) my enemies
4) drugers
5) shop paint

I noticed that happening as well. Whenever I wear a flashy paint like Red Suit/Steak/Rustle, I always get noticed easily. Must be something to do with flashier paint = more experienced tanker/buyer = more of a threat.

For that reason, I just use the Winter paint these days. It looks good but doesn't attract too much attention.

Doesn't matter to me in  the least. The enemy is the enemy, no matter what color the tank is wearing. In DM I try to look for a tank being attacked and come in for the kill. A kill is a kill no matter what color the tank is wearing. The paint is the least of my worries.

Buyer here.

Yep, I get targeted when wearing my money paints. While I was wearing Nightmare... jeez, it was like wearing a giant bullseye.

I don’t target buyer paints. Golden rule and all...

But I absolutely target what I perceive as nooby paints. Yes there is stupid legacy psychology at work. Sure you may have an M4 combo, but if you’re a Legend tooling around a map wearing Spark or Corrosion I’m gonna think you’re an easy mark.

Non-Buyer here.

So, you think because I'm wearing the default paint, that I'm a noob? Paint is a big sign that says, "This is how I waste my money. I have nothing better to do with it than to buy this useless paint."

Some players are Non-Buyers because they have more important things to do with their money, like every day needs to survive. And this makes me a noob? How Dare you!!!

Chill Bro ........................ see what I did there? :D

How dare I what? - draw conclusions about your capability based on what paint you wear? Judge a book by it’s cover? Dude, your cover is all I have to go on. Sorry, but I am going to do that anyway, right, wrong, or indifferent. If you come at me as a Legend wearing Green, I’m gonna think you just fell off the turnip truck. Maybe you will kill me, but I’ll still think you’re - well - green.

and dude, the entire point of this entire thread is how silly judging players by their paint is. I agree, and moreover admit to being guilty of just that. And for that, I draw hate from you?

so like one of my lesser used Buyer paints reads, Chill Bro (now, you know exactly what I did there)

I would have thought it's the opposite - a sensible person, including Legends - would use a paint that lets you blend in and not be a target.

Soft Flowers used to be my go-to paint but I found it just got me killed quicker - players would come from the other side of the map just to kill me.

Now I use Cedar so at least I'm only killed for being cr4p.

Yeah blending in works, but some of the inexpensive cammo paints are even better than green. I also use Metallic and White to blend in against walls. Works surprisingly well, even in crowded maps.

But you know what works best? Doing nothing. Staying absolutely still. I have no idea what it is about the human brain which ignores danger if it is not moving. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve let an enemy drive right by me, doing nothing until his interest is taken elsewhere only to attack him from behind.

I've never been lucky enough to do that.  Even hiding in the bushes the big health/team bars over yourself and the enemy are too much of a giveaway.

It's one of the things I look for.

Those health bars disappear over long distances, so if you’re in a big map, and want to use an untraceable weapon like Smoky or Thunder, a cammo paint in brush can get you a high DL rate.

No, it doesn’t always work, but in battles with a lot of flashy paints, going low profile can get you out of a few deaths. Just choose carefully. Well known paints associated with low rank like Forrester might get you singled out by enemies, drawing even more attention, not less.

Case in point - Spark. Pretty paint. Almost a Zeus lite. I spent my mid-rank life in fear of Spark because I knew it meant my Ricochet was not as effective. Now that I am a high rank, I still instantly recognize Spark, but now my reaction is more like “hey, what’s that M2 guy doing here? Must be an easy kill.” I’ll think that without even checking their equipment. Like I said in an earlier post - that sometimes backfired on me.

Paint protections doesn't exist anymore, they were transformed into modules

Oh, and also

Xxxx lol

Nice

The paints can hide the people easier. I go for the tanks that stand out, not the one s that blend in, like green in forest

To the OP's question, a resounding YES.

Drugs and a shop paint? Bring it on.

Never met a drugger I couldn't kill over...and over....and over again.  It's why I started using Freeze to begin with.
