Declined RenamePass Should be Added to the garage

Ok, i already posted a similar topic, but it got declined so fast to the point where somone would think i posted a stupid "let us share crystals between accounts" type of ideas so i will post again regarding the same topic but with more details.

 

we NEED an update that add the RenamePass to the garage to be purchasable with crystals.

 

like other players said, most people write a stupid nicnkname for theire account when they start playing Tanki and when they grow older & wiser they start to really hate theire nickname, my idea is simple and very easy to be added (it's not as hard or complicated and STUPID as the overdrive for hulls).

 

I know Tanki is a Business and i do respect that, i do understand that they need a constent cash flow, so I'm sure 250k crystals is a fair price for the RenamePass in the garage, because buyers will not waste 250k but they will prefer to spend 18$ instead so Tanki get money from it's buyers, but in the same time if there is a desperate Free player with a really ugly nickname will have chance to get a RenamePass if he want it bad enough to spend a corter of a Million Crytals and he will be happy too.

 

Tanki must understand that some free players will NEVER buy items from the shop, no matter how bad they need it, not because they are cheap, but just because you can't turn every player into a buyer, especially for a browser MMO game with graphics from 2011 that the majority of it's audience are young kids that can't effort to buy good PC's in the first place, i really wish your Marketers understand that.

 

P.S: players that already like theire nicknames or crazy buyers please don't poison this thread, this is a serious issue and really effect the gameplay like the member said, our nicknames are one of the most importent aspects of our identity, ALL players should have the right to Edit it if they want to.

Sorry, the decision doesn't change. Nicknames are still just a cosmetic aspect of your account, and having a "stupid" or otherwise undesirable nickname does not prevent you from being able to play the game. And since it's not something essential, it's fine to have it in the Shop.

 

I know that many other games provide the option to change nickname for free, but those are mostly pay-to-play games (ones that you buy and download to play them), so Tanki needs to use this feature as a source of revenue. If you are really desperate to change your name without spending money, there is an alternative, but much more lengthy and complicated way to do it for free. See details here.

I've talked to . He's not sure that such an option works anymore.  Apparently support told him that with the introduction of the rename pass, such other options do not work anymore.

i confirm it, the "Aplication for paid nickname change" for 100 000 crystals doesn't work anymore, i filled that page with all my details last week, but the technical support said that they can't change my nickname anymore and that i can only change it via rename pass for 18$.

@Maf your methode will never work, i got few cheap bundles of crystals and premium time from the shop over the years, so my waiting time is gonna be 3 years not 300 days, so it's not an option for me, i'd rather buy the damn pass instead.

 

but what about free players ? do you think they will wait for 300 days without playing just for a free nickname change ? and what good that will do to Tanki ? aren't you supposed to have more (not less) players online ?

 

and why this idea get declined way too fast ? there is a fair room of editing in the curent rename policy and you know it, you know how many ad updates our developers did until now ? a lot, and the current rename pass is one of them, at least make the idea "Under Review" not "Declined".

If they are dedicated and patient, then can wait 300 days. But they might just run out of patience and buy the pass, and that's revenue for Tanki.

 

No one is gonna abandon the game just because they can't change their nickname.

 

By the way, why didn't you change your name for 100k crystals in the 3 weeks devs provided for it after the nickname pass was announced? It was plenty of time to save up 100k.

Devs clearly said that they do not plan to add the rename pass to the garage. Therefore idea is declined. There's nothing to debate here, sorry.

I was talking about Maf's method of waiting and then taking your own nickname, giving yourself a free change.  Not sure even that option works anymore.
