Your best battles?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Describe your best battle across all your accounts. Whether it's great because of your D/L ratio, the adrenaline rush you got in it, or a rare occurrence, tell it!

I'll start: Just now, on my alt, 105_Sherman, I was in a CP match on Highlands and my team was doing pretty well. However, just as we crossed 80 points, the other two members of my team left, leaving me facing three enemies. I fought my hardest and ended up with about 40 kills and 20 deaths, but the enemy had won by 3 points at 64-61. I did, however, leave the game with 73 crystals whereas they had ~30, ~20, and ~5 crystals. If any of you three are out there, GG. And if the other two guys from my team are here... Thanks for the glory.

This is the longest battle I've played.

I don't like such long battles, just entered to check the new paint and played till end :p

It was balanced battle and I really enjoyed it. We were chatting too during battle.

I had one particular time I remember on Highlands CTF. I attacked the base, took the flag, and instead of running out the conventional way, I went to the back of their base and hid. After killing a couple guys who saw me go there and followed me, I waited for supplies to recharge and escaped. But again, I didn't go the normal way. I went to the side of the map and literally barrel-rolled down the side of the hill, landed on one of the thin lower ledges and drove out of there. Had some close encounters and had nearly zero health at least twice during that attack, but still managed to cap, and we won with a score of 1-0. Probably the best game I ever had.

Another funny thing happened just yesterday. On Esplanade TDM I spent a good 20 minutes trying to get this one shaft out of his hiding spot. He was behind that small pillar thing on top of his base, which allowed him to shoot anyone who appeared on the top floor from the opposite side of the map.

Not even joking, I spent a total of maybe 10-15 minutes actually sitting in various places and trying to find the best angle to hit him (with magnum), but I just couldn't get the right spot or got killed just as I was about to get it.

But then, near the end of the second round I pretty much gave up, and on my way to the enemy base (I was on the bottom middle area) I just launched a random shot in the general direction of that camping spot.

AND I HIT HIM DEAD ON!!!
It was his only death in 2 rounds! So satisfying :D

once i was at monte carlo 2 flag ctf, i had over a hundred kills and 0 deaths. suddenly everyone on my team started leaving, the enemy team captured 1 flag and took the second one but hid it in their base while spawn killing everyone on my team. everyone on my team left except me. they continued for 5 minutes, my k/d was about to drop below 1 when i started inviting all online clan mates. a few of them came, unfourtunately they were all thunder or smoky users, unsuitable for monte carlo. sill outnumbered more than 2 to 1 somehow we managed to steal the enemy flag and then return ours. unfortunately we failed to capture the enemy flag and it got returned after 30 minutes. there was no auto balance in the battle so the noobs on the enemy team we managed to kill over and over left only to be replaced with other people. i looked at my friends ratios all below 1 and started to feel bad for inviting them, they were all marshals to commanders with only 4000-7000 deaths on their profiles, i must have caused them to lose a lot of k/d... we continued fighting, and we managed to capture an enemy flag finally making it 1-1. In the end the enemy finally managed to steal our flag, they captured it as soon as they could this time, my friends must really have frighened them.

i have always been prepared to fight any battle to server restart, but i told myself if i was ever going to do something so pointless again i wont ever invite my friends. i made them spend more than 2 hours in a battle that was doomed from the moment they came...

In my earlier days of Tanki, I used to have some very exciting, exceptional battles. But for the last 1-1/2 to 2 years, there haven't been any that really stands out. Too many are blowouts and overruns towards the beginning of the battle and the losing team quits. Half way through, the winner has already been determined.

There was a time when losing teams didn't quit just because the other team was a few points ahead. They stayed and fought. Sometimes, the battle was overturned and the losing team won by a very small margin. Those were the exciting battles, the ones that got you adrenalyn up. Now most battles are drug wars. The team who can drug the most and the quickest are the winners.

Anymore, really good battles are far and few between. A good battle is one that is close throughout the battle, both teams taking the lead back and forth. The winners are determined in the last few seconds of battle by one flag made in the last 30 seconds breaking a tie. TDM is won by one or two deaths. CP is won by a small margin. I rarely see those battles, now.

If we're talking K/D here, I'd say my absolute best was a Massacre TDM using Viking-Striker.

The key? A personal isida slave that stayed a close but safe distance behind me (avoiding splash) the entire battle.

Went something like 55-0.  I was on the ridge between the RK and DA drop zones.  It also helped that the entire enemy team was composed of Mediums with medium/long range guns.

The nice thing about using Striker in Massacre is that the lack of clear obstacles makes it very hard for others to shake a lock.  Only Shafts and Rails can take us out and for this battle the 1-2 of them were utter noobs.

was on my lower account

i was a vulcan with at time isida support, sometimes freeze support.

was on death track

was using titan, and was t d m

the enemy team was very heavy with light hulls. wasp and hornet. there was the odd medium hull a couple vikings, 1 hunter maybe. no dictators.

and there were no large hulls.

i camped in and around the spot facing the team that has those two buildings, on the platform where they spawn, there is a ledge that overlooks it with good cover. i had over 50 kills, but i don't remember final number. but i think at the time my vulcan was op for the rank at mu level. i slaughtered every light hull in seconds on spawning, and hunters and vikings also quickly fell or taken down by teammates.

firebirds, isidas, freezes, rails, they fell to a rain of fire.

i died a ridiculous few number of times. there was one point in middle of battle where i will not lie... i felt embarrassed at how good i was doing.

half the enemy team had escape my spawn zone slaughter, but i thick there were 4 light hulls that kept respawing in same spot. so i killed the same 4 hulls 4 times in a row each. they literally did nothing but spawn and die and spawn and die and spawn and die and spawn and die.

i think i blushed, and even apologized in the game chat and suggested their team take heavy hulls.

i don't remember exact kills or deaths, beyond a few and over 50, but i know my d/l number hovered around 18, always below 20 but it was crazy.
