Lol, I remember tanki once saying that they weren't going to add any gambling features to the game... Nice though, I'll look forward to seeing videos of people buying the containers  :P

This is a very interesting addition to the game, even if it is temporary. Nice to see Tanki doing things like the other big games out there with such features (crates/supply drops etc.). Love the Black Gold Box idea by the way, you would never know, like you get a container just by getting a box in the battle and it turns out to be Flow, or Nightmare.

Thumbs up!

Strange, it's almost like EA and Blizzard had a kid together and named it "Tanki Blackfriday"

First of all, let me clear the air: I have no issues with lootbox systems or with real-money sales for Black Friday. I find this event incredibly disappointing, but cannot deny that it was well-played as a marketing strategy.

First of all, playerbase has increased activity since many people will be online trying to catch a "Super Box" essentially, which only have a small chance of worthwhile. Second, all the buyers waste money trying to get these containers which may or may not have anything of value. So yes, well done if you're just trying to get money.

But here's the thing: it's nice having ways to earn limited-edition paints that were from long ago, but this? This is just shameful. All the value that an exclusive paint has just becomes irrelevant because people who weren't able to get it now magically can. Just by using a lot of money. Is that really the kind of game this is? One where you can just get anywhere and do anything with money?

Well, I suppose the answer is yes. And perhaps if less time was spent on animated paints and assorted stuff, Tanki could improve gameplay and actually fix the hole that's causing players to leave left and right. I like the lootboxes, but despise having the old paints re-added in a gambling-estique system.

Like BlackDrakon said this is a good move on Tanki's part in the marketing aspect and, let me add, the cow milking aspect.

It is just another reminder that this is a company that can do anything for profits without any considerations for their clients.

The black container will mostly be a big distraction in battle, expect a lot of multing Dictators.

nice ^^ new paint is coming :P

Do you know what will be the chances of getting the rare paints? 1:1000 USD?

Tanki is just getting greedier and greedier. Open your eyes.

HUGE POINT!!!! I 100% agree it is not fair at all.

"Pay to win" is when the game has a powerful item that is available ONLY for real money and allows the player to easily dominate any other player, who doesn't have that item.

Please think about this and ask yourself, how do cosmetic items (paints) allow anyone to "win" and what does that have to do with "pay to win"?

The DEFINITION of Pay to Win from WIKIPEDIA is as follows:

In some multiplayer free-to-play games, players who are willing to pay for special items or downloadable content may be able to gain a significant advantage over those playing for free. Some critics of such games call them "pay-to-win" or "p2w" games.

Now I don't know about you, but I would qualify paying for special items like the black boxes which can give you large quantities of supplies would count as gaining a significant advantage over those paying for free.

Sounds remarkably like "Pay to Win" to me...

Not a big fan of the animated paint.

OMG. everyything are for buyers wow no discounts on shop -.-

We got a massive sale during Halloween (50% on all garage) and it was less than a month ago. And there will probably be a new big garage sale during Xmas.

Another pay to win day for buyers -_-

Actually most of them will get screwed, they will be buying container after container for a chance to get one of the better items and most will only get crystals and supplies, and they will think they have not luck. Luck doesn't exist and not all buyers are rich people, many are just addicted to the game.

Containers

One of the legendary paints no longer available for purchase anywhere else*

  • («Moonwalker», «Eternity» or «Red Suit»);

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no and NO!

Why on earth would you do this? Kill the reputation and uniqueness of these special paints! These paint signify the age and deadliness of the players who own them, they have experience and they certainly marked a special event in Tanki Online's history. Why would you destroy that? All for a little bit of money?

You might as well just add them to the shop for anyone to buy now.

Please do the right thing and remove those 3 paints from the container, add Shop paints instead, don't kill the past of TO, please.

I think the same. It's a very dumb move.

When I see someone with the Moonwalker paint, I think that this player was here in 2013, during the special farewell to Moon Silence.

Now, I will not be sure, this paint will mean nothing, it's not special anymore.

Everytime you say "buy the paint because it will be gone forever after that, blah blah blah." And now what? Eternity, Moonwalker and Red Suit, and the 2 animated paints are here again.

Why not put Moscow, Traceur, Chill Bro, Retina or Zombie while we're at it...
