I just want to say my opinion about all of this.

I was surprised to see gold boxes dropping one after the other and the whole map was covered with gold box drop zones. It was amazing and I thought Tanki decided to surprise us with infinite gold boxes for 1 day. I caught 93 in total, playing for just under 2 hours. And then when I got the rewards, I was so stunned...in total I received about 1 month of premium, 130,000 crystals and 3,000 supplies, and several paints including the new one. I felt so happy to have all of this stuff. And I had 320,000 crystals, almost enough for an M3 kit which I really need.

 

I felt so elated and happy with all of this. Take it away and you'll make us so depressed and want to quit the game. For once the game was surprisingly fun, racing around collecting as many golds as I could. To see something so rare dropping every second was amazing. If you remove everything, you will remove our happiness. You will destroy my dreams, I was so close to that M3 kit  :angry:

 

Tanki I hope you realise what you've done and whatever you do, do not disappoint us, especially the free players. Don't destroy our dreams and ruin our happiness. If all my crystals are removed I will feel so sad :( You could at least spoil us like this sometimes :(

I think something went badly wrong and you got very very lucky.  It's 5.30 am UTC and it looks like they took the servers down to fix it.

If tanki did take back the rewards, every player online would be incredibly upset. At the same time, this is one of those situations where the developers need to realize they screwed up, fix their mistakes, and never let it happen again.

This thing tonight was a blip.  That's all.  If Tanki has any brains at all, they'll turn it into a positive and celebrate the anniversary of "The Gold Box Rain" every year with a few minutes of the same sort of event.

 

I say, "IF" Tanki has any brains...

you cant do this fairly thouhg. all of the people on tonight will be on every night this happens. and the people that are sleeping... I dont know if tanki is a big enough part of their life to wake up at 2 in the morning to catch a 5 minute gold rain...

I'd really like some posters to think about what they say especially with "it will ruin the economy" and the advantages to those who collect big bounties. 

 

Ok so what are you saying? Are you saying that because of 2 hrs there will be no buyers ever again? Really think. Let's say for instance, someone received 300k crystals. or 100k. Or 500k. or heaven forbid 1 million. 

 

Has this never happened? Do the players who previously achieved this break the game? No. They just spend it in the garage. And keep playing. 

 

Think what equipment costs. An m3 turret is 215000. An m3 hulls is 215000. To upgrade them to m4 is 400k x2. So EVEN if someone got 1 200 000 crystals, they are going to have 1 combo at m4. In time with upgrading. IF they wait for sales, they ll have 2 combos at m4. 

 

I hate to break it to you folks, but I have 3 m4 turrets, and 2 m4 hulls. And there are people with maxed out garages. 

 

Whatever happened to tank today... is not going to break anything. 

 

People will still play. Some quit, who will quit regardless when something upsets them. Like an update. A nerf. 

 

But i really don't see eye to eye with those who don't believe we will keep both opened and unopened containers. 

 

I don't think the bind for tank to remove things is as essential as some would make it seem. 

 

The entire essence of the game is to allow people to develop.

 

What might happen, is thje top five ranks get good equip like upgrade m3s to m4s... um ok? that happens. More m4s at legend? That does absolutely nothing to hut the game.

 

lETS SAY SOMEONE with an m2 turret is able to upgrade it to m3. At very very ver y early rank. Ok. so they will be op... um yes. And they will rank. And then they will be at a level over a short period of time where m3 is balanced. And then what?

 

Plateau. Game absorbs it.

 

So every comment about breaking the economy or balance of the game I'd say easily is mute. 

 

The only question is for those who have bought. Someone bought to get x y and z. And someone got x y z, and a  b c d e f g h i j. For free, cause of this. 

 

And person got a b c d e f g h i j as well. A buyer is responsible. Now. The only thing I could say, is that buyers knew what they were getting. They said based on what i could get, I'm willing to pay for x number of containers at y price.

 

If i were tank id say everything stays. But all buyers have chance to request refund. Or keep what they got, and you know what. I bet some would be fine to keep what they got... because they already decided they were willing to pay for it. What others get doesn't change it. 

 

I'm thinking people are worried probably over nothing. At a given point 2 hrs, tank decided to shut down because yes, there was a problem as we al saw that couldn't go on FOR 24 HRS RIDICULOUS. But that ability to update can be hit any time. So they cut in when they did, and everything is fine.

 

Just wait guys, I'm actually fairly confident we keep containers opened and unopened.

Just take back all the boxes! The "effort" you put in was only 15 mins-1 hour and the reward you got was worth more than 2 week of effort. Tanki should just take back all the prizes from the boxes and give all players a gift for the error because it is unfair for everyone who didn't get the boxes.

Why should anyone listen to you...  Lieutenant?  You probably don't even have two weeks in the game.

I don't want to complain but i wasted a lot of drugs when i realized what was happening. 

 

I didn't open many containers because i was focussed on collecting the boxes before sleep.

I can't help what people buy or don't, but buyers and non buyers alike were given this opportunity.

 

I don't know what tank should do. But removing everything is surely unwise. 

 

Is there downsides to those who paid, and those like me who get spectra for free? Not really. People who are willing to pay are willing to pay. You don't pay based on what others get or do not get.

 

YOU want to get something guaranteed. It has nothing to do with what others get. 

 

Now might they refund some money? Not sure. Buyers knew they were buying. 

 

If tanki is smart, I think they will just sock this up. We keep everything. Containers stay. Opened containers stay. 

 

There will be sincere post to address what happened if smart.

 

Perhaps a more formal response in time about what to do about other issues like buyers who paid.

 

I think it just adds for those who got in and had boatloads of fun playing tank. Surely they would realize this. That there was a mistake, but it pleased their customers. No smart company after pleasing customers tries to turn that POSTIVE SPIN sour. 

 

I just don't see tank punishing us... quite honestly.

Buyers unless they just bought and never played saw what was happening, and are still getting compensation.

...and, as far as the real buyers go, Tanki might consider offering them MORE of something as compensation if they decide they need to do anything at all.  Give those that bought containers in those two hours double containers.  In other words if they bought 25 containers between the original restart and the shut down give them 50 containers....they also got to log in and collect containers like everyone else, so they already may have many more than they purchased and will probably want to keep them just like the rest of us black box collectors.  I bet doubling their actual purchase and letting them keep the collected boxes would make all the buyers happy.

So...Tanki just pulled the emergency brakes on this runaway Black Friday event.

 

It was basically a wetdream of free crystals, supplies, golds, and paints that would utterly undermine the economy and remove incentives to play the physical game of Tanki.

Are people just making assumptions on what happened or do they know what happened because I keep seeing many people's opinions differ such as "There was a bug TO had to remove...", "TO is gonna remove everything and all the stuff we worked hard to get :(", "TO is crashed and it will take 2 hours to fix". What on Earth? If you don't know what really happened don't just blurt out something random. I don't even know why TO is doing this.

When server restarted earlier today there were golds dropping in all battles 24/7. They would give you containers, from which you could get a bunch of free stuff. So players collected hundreds of containers and got a huge amount of free crystals, supplies, premium, and some rare paints in the course of about an hour.

Tanki realized what happened and shut down the servers, presumably to fix the whole mess. Nives wrote it would take 2 hours. One can only imagine this is a bug, otherwise why would the servers be shut down?
