Updated maps and X3 Mission chain rewards

Magnum wins!  Seems like the updated maps were generated with Magnum in mind.  

 

Tribute has a new Magnum slaughter point as does Highland.  Even Massacre has barriers to keep Mags safe while lobbing slop shots at the opposition.  So far so bad, but time will tell.  I predict lots of complaints about even more Magnum advantage.

Polygon only needs 1 control point, not 3.

All maps "need" just one CP. Maps are "better" with more tactical options and requirements. Thinking is good for the soul.

 

I can see people multing in these teambases just waiting forn a gold to drop.

You are probably right. I don't know why such players just don't play Sonic or some other platform game. Then they can catch all the dropping shiny things they want.

 

You need to update the previews of the maps in Non-pro battles. They still feature the old maps.

 

Yes, it's a mix of Massacre and Farm. Kinda stupid gameplay now.

Just got off a Massacre CP game. Actually two games. Both featured Magnums exactly where you two said.OTOH elimination of the side-to-side ridge means Magnums cannot just lob shells over it while Rails and Shafts sweep the ridgetop clean. Now there will probably be aiming angles at most hiding spots.

 

I wish there were a dozen maps lie Massacre. The uneven terrain makes for a sense of realism. You have tl learn to hide in plain sight. Like actual tanks look for the "hull down" firing spot.

Honestly, almost all the new maps favors Magnum turret. I like to ask developers the reason of adding extra territories in Massacre map coz it became too tough to defend flag. 
 

at html5 test server there was summer yorkshere... its green and ugly  :(

Have you lost your brain ?? Summer theme of Yorkshire map is fantastic & extremely hard for shaft to detect targets bcoz too many bushes will help you hide & smash enemies.

 


The new map called Yorkshire looks too much like Kungur and similar maps. It does not resemble Yorkshire at all, and should be edited again to make it just like Yorkshire. Adding Yorkshire landmarks would be the appropriate thing to do to make it resemble this England city.
Does it looks like Kungur map ?? You go inside and find it out or wear new spectacles. Its the same New Year Christmas map.

If U can't play in new Massacre map, then don't join. Its easy to blew away those magnums with your own magnums. Just block those two entrances in extra added territories back with mines, & slaughter magnums inside. Its very easy and fantastic. Only problem is Massacre map becomes too large to defend a flag for 10 players with Magnums keeping in mind.

Awesome update!! I love the fact that X3 Mission chain will continue. Hope it is permanent. New maps are cool as well. Really love the new Massacre (will admit that shooting from one end to the other with a rail is a true test of skill and eyesight (lol).

In Rio new map, we know where red flag lies in old Rio map, there why did developers add stairs to go above that ramp ??? Its heavily favors Magnums of blue side, they coming from blue side top & settles in that top of old Rio map red flag & blew away everything below in new red flag Rio map.

 

Remove that stairs to go up please!  :angry:

There is nothing "RIP POLY" -- Its a fantastic new map. You just can't play in new Polygon. Only problem is it has too many buildings and concrete blocks inside small area which makes tough to move amidst mammoths. Also, due to so many obstructions, its becoming tough for striker to lock targets.

Magnums now have advantage overr other turrets on majority of altered maps

I agree with that, it seems thats what most of the changes were made for. Other than increasing the size of the map to fit more players obviously.

Yeah we've lost all the supply boxes on Solikhamsk that were in those alleys they deleted.

That was the best map for collecting boxes for missions.

Not any more.

I do not understand the logic here...

How can they conclude which maps are the most popular when that stat is based on how frequent the game lobby creates those battles and not the actual players?

If I misunderstood, please explain...

 They don't analyze which maps get created as such. They'll analyze which of those maps get played on the most. Some maps will disappear after one round already, while some others keep filling up and stay for a whole day. 

what happen to the sandbox map?

I can't find that map anymore please can anyone put that map back on the rest maps so I and everyone else can play that map again asap... 

Please someone has to put that sandbox map so everyone can play and enjoy the game.

 Sandox is far too small for 10 vs 10 game play and since it wasn't in the non-PRO battle list, it wasn't altered either. 

i am having a problem entering the new maps where there are changes in props, but no problem in other maps! 

help! :(

Clearing your cache helps with that, since it still has the old maps stored. That interferes with loading the new maps.

I haven't played all the maps, but here are my impressions so far.

Changes I liked:

Tribute, Year 2042.

Changes I disliked:

Polygon, Industrial Zone.

 

The number of camping spots added on most of the maps concerns me.

Industrial Zone: I like some of the stuff, like the bigger platform. Taking away that trench into that building is bad though. That building is just boring now. That whole end of the map is boring now.

 

Year 2042: NO.

 

Massacre: Awesome - far more interesting

 

Polygon: Awesome - far more interesting

I have very, very strong feelings about Silence. To be more precise, I have very strong feelings about Magnum. To elaborate:

 

I really like the redesign. It makes Silence look aesthetically pleasing, adds much needed space and variety the to map, and somewhat mitigates the advantage blue has over red. I'd argue it is the best of the redesigned maps.

 

Except whatever good aspects the new Silence has are completely trashed on by Magnum. Seriously, **** Magnum. The enlarged and protected spawn areas are great for gameplay with all other turrets, preventing spawn camping. But they also make a great spot for Magnums to camp, as if we didn't have enough such places already. As a result, whichever team has the most Magnums wins, because they just shell the enemy base nonstop without EVER having to take damage. Now, one could argue that the old Silence suffered from Magnum spam too, which is partially true, but because there was minimal cover Magnums weren't that difficult to take out. Now it is simply impossible, because of all the hard cover, and to add insult to injury, those spots are littered with drop zones.

 

TL;DR Silence redesign would be great, even excellent, if the piece of trash Magnum wasn't in the game. Welcome to the new Noise!

First impressions:

 

- I don't like the new RIo, it will favor Magnums and Thunders

- I don't like the new Polygon, new players will get lost and abused there by the experience players with new accounts.

- The barriers added in various maps favors Magnums, and other turrets with heavy hulls with Isida behind.

- Massacre doesn't feel right. Someone said you need skills and good eyesight, I say you need a fast computer, fast connection and a large monitor first.

- The rails in Wolfenstein... why that way? maybe try with round rails as if trying to prevent tanks from going up.

- Tribute, Osa, Red Alert, Construction Zone, Barda, Bridges, Forest, Serpuhov, Brest, Silence and Highland seem good, except for the Magnum barriers in some of them.

-The new barriers in Highways should be a little deeper or make more room between the houses and the barriers.

- Yorkshire is a little boring, too wide I think.

- And Year 2042 CP favors blue team because all they have to do is control point A and B to win, you could bring point B to the corner close to the bridge. Thanks.
