Updated maps and X3 Mission chain rewards

X3 missions are literally the only reason I'm playing this game until now tbh... wbu u guys and gals ?

Me too! Tanki is losing interest because of too many problems.  It seems that most of the higher ranks just log on to complete the missions and then they logout. I have several accounts at various ranks and I can find more battles at the lower ranks. The biggest problem for losing interest is that we cannot create battles for the maps we want unless we get a pro pass. I have not seen any non-pro battles on Monte Carlo, Berlin and other maps that were popular in the past.  Also, this push for the horrendous Matchmaking idiocy is driving a lot of old-timers away.  They keep trying to fix the lag but they know they made it worse by adding all this code to have the stupid battle buttons that dump you on a random battle  that is not even balanced! (oh yeah! I love getting destroyed with one shot by a fully drugged up Legend at spawn!). The only button you need is the Battle List with the filters on. Anything else on the main screen is useless.  But then again it seems the only way to get rid of the lag and the errors is to 1. get more competent programmers 2. move the homemade white box servers out of Hazel Rah's garage to a real data center with real servers and plenty of bandwidth!  Now, what are the odds of either one happening?

Ya but should a wargame like Tanki not have at least one slaughterfest map?

Sure grind away. Players grinding do not hurt me.

My issue is those games account for 95% of all Pro games. There's at least 5-6 grindathon maps and they dominate the Pro section every time I look.

On Black Friday there were a lot of people with Premium passes. I looked at the CP games. there were about 55 games active.. all of them on 3 maps. 40 of them Polygon the rest Noise and Sandbox IIRC. So I will take any improvement in adding diversity I can get.

this thread is not about Magnum

Well, I didn’t think so either until I saw that picture of the new elevated barricade box on Industrial Zone. Seeing such an obvious design nod to Magnum IMO makes those comments valid.

Splash damage?  A Thunder or Striker can't damage the magnum hiding in it's base behind a house. They have to expose themselves in order to make a shot.

No.  If you shoot a wall next to them, you can still kill them with splash damage without even seeing them or for magnum to expose itself.

That's one of the neat tricks I rely on with thunder - enemies think if they can't see me I can't hit em.

Wrong.

I've been on several maps today:

Solikamsk

The loss of the side alleys (and the supplies that were in them) means that's no longer a good place to go for collecting-boxes missions.

Had to find an empty Wolfenstein instead which was rare to find it with only 2-3 players.

Yorkshire

Hate it.  It's too tightly-packed for anything and too many bushes for the enemy to creep up and ambush.

I tried Isida, but I just got murdered by rampaging Ricos.

Tried magnum - that 7-second reload gave everyone and his dog time to have a beer, take aim, have another beer and then kill me.

Tried thunder but again reload is no match for ricos.  Lots of ramparts to go up, but you're shot down before even getting up there.

Serpuhov

Only a couple of silly road barriers seem to be the only changes.  Absolutely daft and pointless.

I thought we were getting NEW maps - that's what TO keeps saying we got.

But we didn't - just a few altered ones.

Yeah - I know how Thunder works.  I also know it can't shoot through a wall/building it is hiding behind.  Nor can it shoot over that wall.  It needs to come out from behind that hiding spot to take the shot. At that point it is exposed to return fire.

Magnum on the other hand...  can stay safely hidden behind a building - in it's own base - and lob a shot over that wall Thunder is currently hiding behind.  May not get a direct hit, but the Thunder is taking damage.

See the difference?

I'm starting to hate the map changes, why the developers felt the need to add so many camping spots is baffling. Oh wait, Magnum is Hazel's favorite turret, obviously they are all designed around that perfectly balanced, amazing addition to the game. I'm not entirely sure what they were smoking when the changed Industrial Zone - on the one hand they removed they removed cover from the tower on one side of the map, on the other hand they added a camper's haven on the other tower. What the heck.

There is nothing "RIP POLY" -- Its a fantastic new map. You just can't play in new Polygon. Only problem is it has too many buildings and concrete blocks inside small area which makes tough to move amidst mammoths. Also, due to so many obstructions, its becoming tough for striker to lock targets.

No it isn't. The original Polygon was very well designed in the sense that though there were camping spots, they were not especially good and flushing out campers was relatively easy. Not the case in the new Poly. Second, CTF has been ruined.

I was opposed to the new map. But it is here. I am not saying go back to the old map. However, I believe there should only be one point in CP mode. That is what I loved about the old Polygon. Remove points B and C please.

There's a lot of whining going on, don't know why, haven't played them all yet, but those I have played are much better, and there also seems to be a decrease in lag, so far, but we will see on that.

Adding all the extra bits and taking some away has added a new dimension to many maps, and made the play less predictable, so well done Tankimen.

"Aleksandrovsk — summer and winter (no visible changes)"

Did anyone actually look! - several new control points added - and about time too, this is now a great map! ++ for that.

It's Christmas day 2016 in Yorkshire - I'll say no more - new map my a...  foot  - what a swizz :-)

All in all good job imo.

Hey Nives, Re: all the new competitions, very cool, just two observations you may want to consider.

1. For gawds sake allow light AND medium hulls in everything.

2. Allow an assortment of turrets

3. Change the times a bit - i.e. 5.30 - 8pm utc

----------------------

The thread seemed to have drifted into a slanging match about Magnum, and as a user I have to agree it has slightly spoiled some games on the smaller maps, and would not be sorry to see it excluded (or limited) by design from maps like noise, and silence.

That said, a Mag is only as good as the team that will let it play to its potential, with a weak team mag is not good at all.

Likewise, a good team, with the right tactics, can make mincemeat of Mags, because if they are not allowed to play, then they are a liability.

1v1 it is not much use against fatties with da or those with prot, just like many other turrets!

BTW, if any turret needs sorting out it is Railgun - It kills without aiming, and at ridiculous angles, while parallel with the target, and even directly on top of it - yes that too!

Food for thought everybods!

IMO So far TO has scored more hits than misses with the map updates.

If really like marksmanship and a challenge get Striker. It is probably the hardest turret to use well.

If all you want to do is blow up enemies without a challenge, get Magnum. It is the easiest turret to use.

Highland is ridiculous now.

___

Polygon CP is now more one sided than ever!!! It's a joke. It's either a 100-3 real fast, or a early finish. And funds are low.

I want the X3 mission chain rewards to stay in Tanki Online permanently.

The two bases on Highland needs to have both a double damage and double armor at hand. By having only one double damage on one base and another double armor on the other base is not enough. Both bases needs both supplies at hand for players.

I am using Shaft on Highland, so I would suggest that Highland was to be made wider so that Shaft players can get a better view in zooming mode (sniping mode).

Overall highland is much better than I was previously. Please make the changes that I mentioned below:

1. Highland - Make map wider.

2. Highland - Add both double damage and double armor on both camping bases.

Highland.jpg

Those are the two camping bases which I am talking about. The bases with the corner wall and the white building on the opposite side of the corner wall. Those are the bases which needs to have both a double armor and double damage supply drop zone.

Hey guys! This is my 4th acc so plz don't dismiss me bc of my rank :) My opinion on the changed maps is as follows:

Brest - Stupid idea, that entrance was the best ever for stealing the flag with overdrived wasp

Bridges- like the new blocks, give more shelter after stealing red flag

Forest - helpful

Highland - I LOVE IT It is so much funner now (YES FUNNER IS A WORD)

Industrial zone- I really dont care

Rio, I like the new stuff, the new ramp to lead high up is THE BEST I mine the ramp and shaft down, its awesome! Seems to be a little too much open space tho, and I liked the flag better when It was up, but now that it's down I can jump down and get steal the flag w/ overdrive

Yorkshire - I WAS SO DISSAPOINTED!!! For all of you who played last christmas, you might remember Yorkshire being the EXACT FRIKKIN same map as the christmas one, minus the big Christmas tree in the middle, and Christmas decor.

Overall, I like the uppdate, but Yorkshire was a disapointment.

Thank goodness that the developers announced in V-Log 154 that the Assault Mode would become a permanent feature of Tanki Online on the recently reworked maps. This is something that I always wanted to have (Assault Mode), since the last two years, on the Happy New Year Celebrations.

What the developers need to do is to create one map called "Assault" with only one flag and one control point. This map must have a big open space in the middle and a few wall where the control point and flag bases are located.

This map "Assault" must also be made available to pro battles as well.

I am also very delighted that developers announced in V-Log 154 that the containers and black gold boxes that we had on Black Friday 2017 will return. That's good news! I hope that black gold boxes and containers will be added to the game permanently.

I just want black golds and containers to become a permanent feature of Tanki Online just like overdrives.

Please: Permanent BLACK GOLD BOXES & CONTAINERS.

I didn't know that making a map "Wheelchair Accessible" counted as making a "new" map.

The Tanki version of a "New" Porche would be a 1968 VW Beetle.

The Tanki version of a "New" Kate Upton would be Phyllis Diller.

The Tanki version of a "New" T-14 Armata would be a 1917 French Renault FT.

Seriously, is this the best Tanki can do?  Because if it is, it SUCKS!

Instead of taking some perfectly good maps and screwing them up - how about some actual NEW maps.

Provisional Definition:

New: "Something we haven't seen before.  Original.
Not a crappy copy of something that already exists.

Dumbing down the maps to the point that your blind grandmother can navigate them does NOT make a more interesting game. I get the feeling that what Tanki really wants to do is cram all players onto one map, lock them in and squeeze them until their blood, gastric juice, aqueous humor and money dribble out.  Making maps bigger does not make them better.

Tanki's overall grade for the new maps:  F

Instead of the effing "ram and cram" system, go back to letting people pick  servers and battles.  Stop cramming people into these nasty maps, give people a choice what battles to play - and whether they really WANT to play a game with 19 other people.

Little Willie has almost everything wrong.

The maps are a mess.  Magnum is one of the more difficult turrets to use (but more fun for that very reason).  Styker is only slightly harder to use than thunder - with similar effects for one-off shots.

There shall not be any hackers.

Having black gold boxes and containers added permanently will not cause hackers to hack the game.

On the first day of Black Friday, the continuous gold box drops were a glitch. That glitch was fixed a few hours later and the claimed rewards during the glitch was removed from players garage.

Developers learnt from this glitch, so in the future this problem will not trigger again.

by having permanent containers and black gold boxes, will not cause hacker to hack the game because loopholes and backdoors to hackers are being closed all the time.

If you find any kind of violations, please report them in the violations section of the forum.

Yeah we report hackers (check my profile, banned some recently). But they stole us the Black Golds. They got rewards like crystals or paints in an unfair way.

Yes they are banned one month. But they will return in the game after one month with their brand new paints.

Developers didn't learn diddley squat from the "glitch".  Tanki still does a lousy job of testing and finding bugs.  If they had any REAL intention of fixing bugs, they'd have a bug track page that showed pending bugs, status, resolution where everyone could see what's broken and when it gets fixed (never).  Instead of fixing problems like the  "your turret will no longer inflict any damage" bug, they introduce CRAP that nobody wants/needs.  The Unified Battle List is one example.  Now instead of being able to play a game 1 on 1, or even in small groups, everyone is herded like onto maps revised for players that had to be made BIGGER to hold more victims!  The one actual "new" map (of the 20 or so promised) is a rehash from an xmas map from a year or so ago.

Face it. Tanki hasn't a clue.  More than half of all code changes introduce "features" nobody wants plus bugs.

The jump hack is well known.  No fix.

The battle lists still display battles of the wrong kind. Never addressed.

The "can't pick up that box" has been around for years - never fixed.

The "you're a ghost" bug still crops up from time to time.

"An error occurred". - Who hasn't had that one.

And those are just bugs I know of off the top of my head.  If I really thought about it, I'd probaby think of a half dozen more - plus a dozen "improvements" that made the game a lot less fun.

If they had "learned their lesson" they'd be fixing this stuff and they'd stop making changes that diminish the game.

They haven't.

And they aren't.

All the gold box rain showed us was that when Tanki screws players, it's okay.  But when Tanki screwups BENEFIT players, Tanki becomes a thief.
