Anyway, Mr Hazelnut has analyst that will review the number of Magnum per battle and the XP gained. If the turret exhibit too much dominance, then it will be dealt with. Then Magnums lover can start to shudder and prepare eloquent speeches about all the good crystal wasted because of that. And others will rejoice.

On the other hand, if results shoes the opposite or it's average, then it's a perfectly balanced game, hey!

Consequently, nothing to worry about for the moment but carry on arguing on who is the most coward or the most skilled, and please continue debating.

I've now played on most of the re-worked maps.  My imrression is they have been homogenized and made very similar to all the other maps, just different graphics, not strategic values.  Many of the things that made a map have a "personality" have been removed to be replaced with like emplacements.  As I play more, I'm sure other stuff will pop out at me.

The first thing that strikes me is all maps have large bases now.

There are upper level areas on almost all maps now.

As has been said previously, many new spots for Magnum to camp n' lob...most maps.

I do think it is kinda funny how Wolfenstein has been noob proofed...all the castle "root" corners have been nerfed by putting barriers so the noobs won't flip themsleves by taking a corner to sharply.

Turrets got nerfed and homogenized with many now having splash damage or losing their unique characteristic (Vulcan lost gyro aim, Isida self healing, etc)

Hulls got homogenized; they all got closer to each others specs.

Drugs became ubiquitous and everyone now has overdrives...again a type of game homogenization.

Now maps have been made more similar.

The devs seem to want Tanki so simple that a raw newbie is competitive with a seasoned vet.  I guess they think it will make them more money, but I think it will just make players tire of the game more easily.

Massacre has a hole down the middle instead of to the left sides. CP point is more vulnerable.

The bases are actually from an OLDER version for CTF that put the flags inside (instead of exposed).

Having these new maps

- does rather suck for experienced players because you have to learn a lot of new approaches, hiding spots, firing points, especially for Shaft.

I don't think it takes a Genius to see that on some battles (Highway, Massacre, Year2042, Kolhoz) the Magnums earn more kills and better ratios than any other turret because of the difficulty of a non-Magnum attacking them (unless they hide poorly). You would have to fight your way through the whole schmeer. My rule of thumb is : if both sides have a Magnum, it partly balances...otherwise I just leave the battle rather than get killed with impunity by an OP.

* On most battles, Rails and Shafts are about equally balanced, and even Thunder to some extent.

ya shaft need skills I mean camping with heavy hull in their base with pin point accuracy with laser, doing almost nothing for your team (you mean, other than saving their butts from hiding rails and sudden head-ons?) requires skills. But on the other hand magnum is all about luck as you just need to press space bar and projectile automatically hits target.

You obviously need to play as Shaft to see the limitations: getting shot by wild rail shots, bombed by Magnum.

There are no such limitations for Magnum, but they can be vulnerable in smaller maps.

Rail is like an artform, but if they lost their auto-aim, they would suck eggs -- a real crutch for some players.

Hmm.  The more new maps I play the more I realise how ineffective a wasp now is.   It's time to go for a better-armourerd tank.

Future — summer only (no visible changes)

I just looked at this map and it looks so different, I wouldn't call this "no visible changes" lol

I must say I like the new Future more

I like it all, except for removing the hole in forest. It was one of my joys in life to see nubs fall into oblivion.

i only fell in accidentally once, and i happened to be using magnum wasp on my soanish account. I didn't die once till the end of that tdm and got 30+ kills... after that i just jump straight into that hole every time

I like Yorkshire, and am happy it is in the game permanently. CP mode seems balanced, which is good considering the Assault Mode version was wildly unbalanced. I just hope we get Assault Mode again for the Christmas holiday, either on Yorkshire or a new map.

I also played Highways, and while I noticed the base changes they didn’t impact me much.

Tanki does have a problem coming. Players are excited about these new maps - but MatchMaking will remove our ability to choose which of these maps we get to play. For once Tanki won’t be able to drag out the ‘just play PRO battles’ line, since new maps don’t exist in PRO.

There are about three threads about Magnum, Please keep this thread on-topic.

Massacre seems to bounce around the Wasp much more than before. There seem to be a few spots that look less bumpy than others. You'fe going along then the tanks suddenly stops dead like you hit a wall. That happened sometimes on the old Massacre too but it seems like there are more spots like that.

I appreciate the rails on Wolfenstein.
