Why I don't play Tanki like I used to

Well, let's base this on a skill level, with 1 being best and 10 worst. I'm about a 2. Most people I play with are from 6 - 9.

You can see how this is problematic, right? I'm usually carrying my teams since they can't do jack and I don't have many drugs. I'm not going to point fingers at who sucks and doesn't, but most players these days are just horrible, which is sad for the middle ranks.

Middle ranks are tough. If you stick it though you'll come across more skilled players, but be prepared with a lot of drugs.

I know. I can't wait to get to M3s. It's gonna be epic

Nah.

Battles you'll see over next couple ranks will be just as good (or better than) battles at the top.

In upper ranks everybody and his dog will have 50% protection against your favorite turret(s) and you'll be pressing 2-3-4-1 and 5 a lot.

And you'd be surprised (maybe not) by how many Gismos/Legends don't know how (or just won't) use OverDrive...

It's depressing.

Unfortunately feels more like a grind than anything - strategy?  Ha.  If only we could communicate same language with team-mates...

May get better once I stop caring about missions and just do Pro/Custom battles.

Make the game more challenging for yourself then. Don't look where you're going when taking their flag back to your base, test your map knowledge. Use wasp M0 in all battles. Idk, be creative...

Seriously though, all battles are basically 2v2s at best, pitting the druggers on each team against each other, with everyone else just getting in the way...

See this is why I love the friends system and the highly customizable NS battles. They're scarse but you can form teams of excisting friends.

I've always been a solo player, playing on my own in normal battles. Not that long ago, I realized how much better the experience became when I joined NS battles with everything off... Including that stupid overdrive. When I get to make battles though, I enable MU's because I have my favorite stuff at M4 :D

Without overdrives, the battles usually take longer and are more tense. Just take a look at the average battle in the list. Chance is pretty high you'll see a 2,0, 3-0, 5-0 or 9-0 match. Overdrives and drugs take away much of the skill and strategy that there's left in this game.

At one point, it was a 10...THE go-to game. Then some updates came along that seemed to be geared more towards buyers. My interest in the game started dwindling. We were told that everything was going up in price. A "0" was added to everything. Players were complaining. We were told that the economy hadn't changed a bit. The blue crystal boxes would now contain 100 crystals instead of 10. What they didn't tell us was that the crystal boxes fell less frequently, making them harder to acquire. When one was seen falling, the game almost came to a stop while players tried to grab that one box. It was almost a precious as the Gold Box is now (to some players). The economy had changed. It was about that time, I think, buyers started becoming more frequent. Then the crystal boxes disappeared and the Gold Box was introduced.

The next update that was a game changer for me was the separation of the modules and paint. We were told it was for the betterment of the game and the players. To buy the paint and the module would still cost the same. Some players were paint collectors and didn't care that much for the protection it gave. Others choose a protection but didn't like the paint that came with it. Now you can buy the module and the paint is worthless.

After the introduction of OD, my interest has dwindled even more. It was introduced to give non-buyers an even chance with buyers. But OD doesn't last as long as personal supplies. Many players who depend upon supplies to win, use OD to supplement to their own supplies. They use OD while waiting for their personal supplies to recharge. That's why some players won't share their OD. The only good thing about OD is the ability to heal other players. One of my other accounts is an Asida. Because of the use of alternating between OD and supplies, I don't heal as much, which reduces my XP earned per battle. I'm topping off health bars instead of actually healing.

My interest in the game is now down to 2-3 and is quickly going down to 1-2. Instead of playing for hours, I now play 1 or 2 battles and call it quits. On occasion, I may play for an hour, if there isn't anything better to do. I spend more time in the forums than I do in battle. That's getting pretty bad when the forums are more interesting that the game.

OK. I'm done ranting.

Maybe there are a lot of bad players, but it doesn't stop them from killing you and making you frustrated. Especially when you are outmaneuvering a Rico who doesn't turn his turret but he kills you anyway.

Oh yeah. Quit the game before you realize how much time of your life you wasted.

Playing a game for fun in your spare time isn't a waste of life. Everyone needs to relax and everyone enjoys relaxing in different ways. Of course, too much of a good thing can be bad too.
