Friends List, Cheater Reports changes

We thank you for your feedback on the new maps and will continue to test and balance them in the future updates, but before they arrive, we’ve made a few improvements to the Friends List and how cheaters are handled in battles.

 

Friends List

 

Let’s start with the Friends List, and how the new changes will help you avoid spam.

 

After server restart at 02:00 UTC on Thursday, December 7th, Friend Lists will have a maximum number of 300 active friends and 50 incoming friend requests.

 

This means that if you already have 50 requests in your inbox, and a player tries to send you a new friend request they will get an error saying your friend requests are full right now. At the same time, the list of all friend requests sent will be removed, to improve performance.

 

If you already have more than 300 friends, only friends that haven’t played for longer than 6 months will be removed from your Friends List, and if someone didn’t play for more than 1 year, their personal Friends List will be cleared automatically.

 

Friends List changes and 300 friends limit are coming to the game to reduce lag and improve server stability, since at the moment, all players in the game can look at the profile of another player and add extra work for the servers and impact ongoing battles, chat and Battle List.

 

We hope you will notice the improvement!

 

NOTE: After server restart at 02:00 UTC December 7th all friend requests (both sent and received) will be cleared, but this will happen only once, after the restart.

 

Cheater Reports

 

Right now we are also working on preventing most common hacks and to help stop the hackers we are changing how you can report these players.

 

After the restart at 02:00 UTC on December 7th when a player is reported for cheating in any battle it will no longer create a message in the battle saying a moderator is coming.

 

The reports will work as usual, and Battle Mods will join the battle to see who is breaking the rules, but after the restart it will be much harder for cheaters to run away.

 

With the update we will also add protection against jump hacks to the anti-cheat system, which will help us stop the hackers from stealing Golds in the future.

disagree with this one , seeing there have been players who are returning every year and now have to find friends all over again this is more a pain then fixing the issues it should be more then a 1 year who should be deleted not 6 months

--- will not hold my breath on this , seeing they have tried fixing this so many times and still nothing changed . biggest issue is more getting shot when gold drops by a rail gun.

I am so delighted that the developers decided to roll out an update which will improve the friends system, but what about the referral system for referral friends.

 

The referral friends system does not work. I tried it myself quite a few times and other players tried it as well and they complained about the referrals invitation which does not work. I don't understand why developers are ignoring the referral system, but this referral system really does need fixing and improving as well.

 

It would also be a good idea to have a friends category which players could organize their friends by playing style or other friendly goodies such as giving gold boxes to your friend as a present. For example, friends which help you best in battles can be organized as helpers.

 

By the way, I have seen quite a few times as well cheaters which are annoying because they use jump hack to steal gold boxes, and that also disturbs battles because other players often look at the jump. This annoying distraction will soon be removed, so jump hacks will never be seen again. Thanks for fixing annoying cheaters and jump hacks.

 

Cedric Debono once said in one of his livestreams, "that there are always loopholes and backdoors in Tanki Online or any other game in the world, and it is impossible to complete get rid of all the loopholes and backdoors". Cedric Debono has even mentioned that "even the world's greatest programmers and anti-cheaters cannot fully block the loopholes and backdoors which Tanki Online or any other game in the world has". There are no perfect game.

OMG tanki, Thank you so much. In normal battles hackers take about 4-6 out of 10 golds and in polygon CP they take about 8 out of 10. If you could stop at least a few of them that would make this game so much more fun, I mean, its no fun to have my Dic. on top of the stack and then have some noob with a hunter or hornet just fly up over me. Whats even more maddening is that right after they take the gold they leave so no one can report them. Also... polygon gold hackers arn't there to help the team, they just drive around and do nothing, then when a gold comes they just fly up in the air and take it. SO many people fly hack around this rank, IDK if they do it up higher but they do it a lot more than when I was a lower rank. Anyway, Thank you for trying to stop it.
