As many of you know, the official Tanki World Records page is a one-stop-shop for finding all the current Records set by our community in the game we all know and love. Today, we will review some of the quirkiest records, the judging process, the record holder(s) and how the records were achieved.

The Judging Process

Being a Tanki World Records Judge, I can provide some insider knowledge as to how the records are evaluated. I can tell you about all the deep, dark secrets of all the processes we go through to make sure each record is legit. :ph34r:

Are you hooked yet? If yes, then, well, you kinda just got baited :wacko:. In reality, the judging process is pretty boring. Basically, we operate using a one-year-old Forum PM created by (aka. lordmostafa - retired Forum Moderator and Facebook Moderator + ex-TWR Judge). We'd prefer to use Skype but someone *cough* Lukey  doesn't like using it, so we're forced to use the ultra-futuristic Forum PM. @Maf, @lukey0 and I are currently the Tanki World Records Judges, though Yisroel is still in our PM for some apparent reason.

Basically, someone posts in the TWR topic and if it is just a straightforward legitimate record, whoever owns the post containing the record, updates it. However, if proof is unsatisfactory or the record is controversial, we take it to our Forum PM to discuss how to proceed. For example:

Sometimes, however, we occasionally have some really deep, meaningful, existential conversations, as can be seen in the spoiler.

What you're about to witness has never been seen by the public eye. Discretion is not only advised but strongly encouraged.

I understand if you are still in shock after uncovering these philosophical truths of the universe but read on if you dare!

Interesting Records

1) Pacifistic Records
There are in fact some rather interesting records, too. Some records are truly mind-blowing, especially considering there is no real incentive for submitting a record, except recognition. The infamous pacifist, @Just_Heal, managed to claim two (nearly three) records from one submission:

4jbXWKnlR86xgwgiDshCkA.png

Unfortunately, the player is rather inactive but I will try to get in touch with them in future for an interview. In the battle, they successfully achieved the following records:

  • Lowest K/D in a battle (0.00303951367)
  • Highest Score with no Kills (4451)

They also nearly achieved the following record:

  • Lowest Overall D/L (currently held at 0.39)

They did not meet the criteria of being Warrant Officer 1 () or higher to claim the record.

The record itself would have taken a lot of persistence and sheer determination. To achieve the record, the player would have had to go completely against their natural instinct to attack enemies and instead solely heal enemies and attack the point. Of course, the fact that the record holder is only a low-ranker makes the record a little bit less impressive, for it is presumed that the other players in that battle were not overly skilled. Regardless, a high score was achieved but it seems that the tanker became quite the target - acquiring several more deaths than most others, which is further proven by the enemy team's slightly larger D/L's.

Back in April of 2017, @Cortana (aka. /Mr.Sarcastic) claimed the record for "High Fund Received with no Kills/Score" with an income of 5,083 crystals (non-inclusive of Premium). Admittedly, this was rather controversial as it could be (and quite possibly was) staged but was finally accepted.

2) Quirky Records
One of the most interesting records is the "Largest Pileup" one. 24 players successfully managed to stack on top of each other by utilising the Esplanade drop:

Obviously, this is quite an ancient record and even features the names of some iconic veteran Tanki players such as Holy Hero Alex and Saint-Hov. Most of the pileup would have been relatively easy but once the amount of tanks evened out with the height of the wall, they were entirely relying on precision, for if anyone moved too much, everyone above the threshold could collapse in one big heap.

One of the more unpopular and stranger records was the "Most 'Question of the Week' Contests won." This record is currently held by @Claudiu but is set at only four. This record is probably rather easy to beat for anyone who actively participates in those contests, for some are rather simple. This record was also set one and a half years ago, there'd surely be someone who beat the score.

One of the most interesting records is the "Highest Reward from one Referral." Personally, I feel that this record is difficult to achieve due to the sheer amount of buying and ranking up required to achieve it. The current record beat its previous counterpart by over 100k crystals.

Once again, @Claudiu enters this list with an interesting record. This time, it's for "Most Friends in one Battle." Essentially, he joins a Dusseldorf match with every single player also being his friend. He has 39 friends in the battle (non-inclusive of himself of course), leaves and immediately, another one of his friends joins.

3) eSports Records
eSports is heavily celebrated by Tanki Online and several impressive records show the competitive nature of it, @Lankbouv set a "record" for "First EN Player to receive Champion Paint." Technically, their record is legit but since it can never, in future be broken, it was moved to Archive.

The famous EN Clan, "All Kind" has the single most liked Clan page, coming it with around 690 total likes. They also managed to become the first Clan to ever win "Silver" paint

4) Event-Based Records
During celebrations, there are often changes to the Game's fundamental statistics, which makes it much easier to achieve records. @hahahahaha55555 managed to claim the records for "Most Gold Boxes taken in 12 hours," "Most Gold Boxes taken in 24 hours," "Most Gold Boxes taken in 1 week" and "Most Gold Boxes taken in 2 weeks" due to the assistance of boosted Halloween 2017 Gold Box drop rates. In the record, they managed to catch 143 Gold Boxes in 24 hours, 71 (hypothetically) in 12 hours, 201 in a single week and 256 Gold Boxes in two weeks. Though none of these records were accepted due to the unfair playing conditions, their record for "Most Gold Boxes taken during 10x Drop Rates" was accepted at 143 Gold Boxes in 24 hours.

During April Fool's Celebrations of 2017, @stanzhang claimed the records of "Fastest time to catch 2 Gold Boxes" as well as "Fastest time to catch 3 Gold Boxes." These records were at 2 seconds and 14.5 seconds, respectively. Evidently, the increased Gold Box drop rates made this record easily achievable, as well as the fact that the match was held in Firebird+Hornet/Wasp mode to further increase the Gold Box's chance of dropping.

Additionally, @T.Y.P.H.O.N managed to rack up an enormous income of 404,023 crystals during the heightened x5 Battle Funds. In this record, the player also managed to beat their own previous record of 5033 kills, achieving a nice round figure of 5555 kills. In this long battle, they also successfully set the record for "Most kills in 30 minutes" at 388 kills in 29 minutes and 37 seconds.

Due to the recent opening of the "Crystallizer Contest," players have sought to rake up massive amounts of crystals in a single battle, in hopes of it being multiplied as a reward. This has caused players such as to find an extremely long battle and play it for hours on end. He managed to end up with a total of 4467 kills to 1268 deaths in a Dusseldorf DM match:

This was a smart choice for a battle because DM funds grow equally to that of CTF and CP but the fund distribution is very different; the highest scoring people get a significantly larger ratio than that of the people who made few kills. He knew he would place first by the end, thus allowing him to get a massive chunk of the fund. Conveniently enough, I also managed to get into contact with him.

Interview with AbsoluteAlpha

@Marc: Hello! So, recently, you managed to break some massive records - "Highest Reward" and "Highest Score" in one match, what was your motivation to do this?

My motivation was the Crystallizer Contest. This event is a great way to gain a lot of crystals when you have a very big reward. If I manage to get first place, my reward, 202k will be multiplied by 5. That means I get 1 million crystals from the reward and 400k from the battle itself. I also took around 10 golds in that Dusseldorf match, so I could be potentially walking away with around 1.5 million crystals! If that isn't value, I don't know what is!

* * *

@Marc: Sounds amazing! What combinations did you use throughout the match? There were several players with large protection against you, was that tough to combat and if yes, how did you manage to do so?

: I'd say that around 80% of the 14 hour long DM match was played with Rico-Viking M4 + Clay (fully MU'd of course). When the victims of the battlefield decided to use protection against me, I simply went in my garage and chose another turret to use, such as Twins, Freeze, or Hammer. Viking was a must for me because it is perfectly balanced for a battle as long as the one I just did.

* * *

@Marc: Would you still have attempted this challenge if you did not have Premium?

: Yup! I still would have attempted this Contest without Premium due to the Crystallizer Contest. I would still manage to get a lot of crystals either way.

* * *

@Marc: Have you attempted these kinds of feats before?

: Nope, I've never attempted something like this before. My previous highest reward before this was something around 30-40k I think.

* * *

@Marc: This seemed like a very long match! Do you know how long it lasted? Also, could you please, in your time, explain how long you played for?

: The entire battle lasted 840 minutes. 840/60=14 hours (quick maths). I started at 8AM in the morning and the battle finished at around 10PM in the evening. I prepared my nutrition the day before. I had chicken, rice, veggies, 3 litres of water and some fruits and protein shakes.

* * *

@Marc: Wow! You were really well prepared! I can imagine it must have been extremely concerning that everyone might just leave half way through. Is this why you chose DM as your format, so the match wouldn't be one-sided and cause players to leave? Did you drop some Golds as incentive to keep people in the battle?

: Yeah, I prepared really well. I bought 20 golds so I could interest people to join from the start. When the fund was around 150k, people kept joining because they wanted to see the fund. I also had some friends who posted the battle link once in a while. My only fear was something like a fatal error.

* * *

@Marc: What if everyone decided to leave mid-way? Did you make sure that the battle had auto-finish on so that you wouldn't have to wait for it to finish?  :lol:

: I already knew the map wouldn't be just me. People won't let such a big fund auto-finish. I was also dropping Golds for players during the Battle so there was a constant incentive.

* * *

@Marc: What are you recommendations to anyone who wants to try this in future? I imagine the mental aspect must have been exhausting!

: My recommendation is to make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection. Also make sure you stay healthy, eat, drink and move once in a while. The main thing is that you need to have a solid reason to finish the map, otherwise you will regret making it so long!

* * *

@Marc: Thank you very much for the Interview! Good luck in the Crystallizer Contest!

: Thank you! Bye!

That's all, tankers, can't wait to see you in the next installment!

Lol was yisroel a former judge?

Yup.

You forgot to mention the secret behind why we use a forum PM.  :ph34r:

We'd prefer to use Skype but someone *cough* Lukey  doesn't like using it, so we're forced to use the ultra-futuristic Forum PM.
