I really want everybody reading this thread to think carefully about what I'm asking. Put yourself back 2 and a half years; that's when I started playing Tanki. Some aspects of the game were not as good. There was no striker or magnum. There were no missions. Crystals were hard to come by. I would say, a year later was the hey-day of Tanki. We had missions. Crystals were easier to come by, and most importantly, the game was a showdown of skill. Almost every winner of a Tanki game deserved it. If it was a CTF game, they played outstanding defense and defense. They didn't win because of having more supplies. The game at that point was a joy for me to come home and play. I went away from the game a while; three months. I came back, and my jaw fell open. Every tank in sight was using a supply. People's tanks were lighting up blue every now and then. And there were new guns. I thought that was cool, but as I began to play for the first three days, it wasn't the same. I had SO many supplies, but I didn't want to use them; I am a firm believer in no supplies, except for the ones dropped on the ground. It was a shame to play and I stopped. I came back today, only to find more of the same thing. The game overrun by the players who spend money. Now, I know the game needs money, but it was doing okay when supplies weren't THE THING in the game. The new matchmaking system is setting us up with players that are way better than us, and the option for the main battles is as small as Donald Trump's hands.

Why do players wanna go back lol?

Currently I have left TO for a while because I think the game needs much more improvements (more updates).

I'm playing TankiX because I think it's is more advanced and developed game, but I will definitely start playing TO after some months/years.

Same here. I just loved the good ol' days when you just logged on for 20 minutes and said, "Wanna get in my way, you're dead," and just enjoyed the game with no drugging, just drop-downs. They want people to switch to TankiX so they're trashing TO.

The past is the past. You can't go back, leave it at that. If we could just go back, we would never learn.

Yes, Tanki was great, but it's still good now, no? Supplies might be a little too common (even for my liking) but they are almost practically handed out for free with the x3 mission chains. Even free players can earn hundreds.

This is the Deves first game, so they are making mistakes, but this isn't the final product. Hazel said soon the game will see some major changes to make the game more enjoyable for all parties. We just gotta wait it out for the moment.

How does that make any sense? The same company owns both games, why does it matter which one people play?

Is my poll bias at all. Please let me know. I don't want to be bias.

Maybe not bias, but more options will be better. For one I dislike Magnum because it is OP.

Well first I was like 'too much druggers and not enough NS battles because everyone does missions.'

Now that I think of it, you'll gain more crystals than ever before. It's just that the game is becoming increasingly more difficult for new players with all the items, kits, mu's and missions.

There are much more things to buy and much more things to waste your crystals on aswell. Lots of luring is going on with all these sales and events, at the same time I've rarely seen MU's on a decent discount.

All this new stuff might be a little overwhelming to the average newbie. There are no guidelines; atleast not given by the game itself. To me it seems T.O. wants you to buy as much items as possible.

If someone does know how the system works from the beginning though, I think this person can have a massive advantage in the M1 stage and will only be slightly underpowered in the midranks.

There are too many variables that need to be taken into account besides the ones mentionned above, we can't ever come into a conclusion about this game.

Except for the devs.

Tanki-X has it's own issues.  Buyers still dominate - as much if not more than Tanki-online.

It might look pretty but the gameplay is not better than tanki-O.  Different? Yes.  Better?  - a matter of opinion.

Knowing what we now know with a new account makes a HUGE difference.

Turning your turret and not buying all the m0 and m1 equipment gives you a significant advantage.

I think a large part of this comes from more of a vague feeling of "nostalgia" than any concrete update somebody can point to and say "this is when TO stopped being good."

Everyone longs for the "good old days"...but what defines the "old days" is different for everyone.  Some think it was before the smart cooldowns....but what exactly was better then? Some think it was when you could create your own battles- but the battles are objectively more full and varied now.

But one thing we do know: that we had more fun then.  The game seemed more "enjoyable", "friendly", and "relaxing", that we know for sure.

But here's the thing: Any game has a period when we really enjoy and cherish it, and the natural tendency is for the game to become more boring over time.  We search in vain for this "novelty" and wonder that we first had when we joined the game, not knowing that it is impossible to get back.  We try to re-construct what Tanki Online meant to us back then- but it means a different thing to us now- the original wonder is lost- and the innocence can never be regained.

I know at least for me the game is less fun now than 3 years ago.  But 3 years ago drugging, the bane of my TO existence was a bigger problem.  3 years ago I had much less friends than I have now.

It is important to recognize that this is an important part of the nature of games, and the feeling lies entirely on our side.  It is not anything caused by the developers or due to the progression of the game.

That's why TO is falling- because older players, unless it is a real part of their life, naturally leave, while TO is not doing a good job of attracting the current generation.  Speaking of which, what happened to the ads?

As long as there is people paid to look after the game it's still on.

TO had no purpose for a couple of years, but a year ago started a revolution that is transforming TO.
TO had 2 eras so far, the crystals box, followed by the second era that we have now, and the next is MM to come early next year.

TO is erasing or modifying one by one the relics of the the second era (friend list, battle list, servers, odd maps,...) to implement the third era.

They're still developing this matchmaking thing?

Ohh my.

The game is SO out of balance. Some turrets are ridiculously OP (like magnum and shaft) some are ridiculously underpowered (like hammer and Vulcan.) The managers know nothing except make more money.

boi what you saying about hammer?

Hammer is literally one of the most OP turrets

IMO you don't need to spend money regularly like in TO.

Just buy a good crystal package on 50% off, unlock all modules and start playing..... once you reach in Gold league, you will start receiving gold league containers which helps alot in upgrading modules and making tank powerful.

I did the same and now I'm at 25th position with around 5000 reputation points.

I would disagree here. Whatever P2W aspects modules might have are nothing compared to hardcore druggers who have fully MU'd equipment.

Hammer isnt weak right now IMO. I would say Vulcan and Striker.

From Wikipedia:

"An object in the technical sense of the term "free fall" may not necessarily be falling down in the usual sense of the term. An object moving upwards would not normally be considered to be falling, but if it is subject to the force of gravity only, it is said to be in free fall. The moon is thus in free fall."

Roughly 40,000 peak numbers online for the Christmas Celebrations, need I say more. So sad so sad. I remember when it went well over 100,000, and after New Years there is always a big drop in players. I think they'll have a hard time getting even 30,000 during peak times then. Even the forum posts are drying up with most posts being made by relatively new players. (At least that's what I've noticed) I wouldn't be at all surprised if Tanki goes belly up next year because they still continue to put out bad update after bad update and players keep leaving.

Of course it's not the fault of Pony Tail Boy and the rest of the Dev's.......Yeah Right! LOL
