Assault Mode arrives December 13th

Tried AS with smoky / titan. Blowout, left. Blowout, left. Blowout, left. Blowout, left. Blowout, left.

 

Joined a CTF game. Had fun. Played another. Had fun.

 

I think the novelty of AS mode lasted about 30 minutes for me. I'm not going to give up on it yet but so far am not impressed.

 

 

The real reason is blue kids forget defending & goes on to attack as well as left the bridge above unprotected which helps red players to jump from bridge & quickly capture flags, otherwise Bridges map favors blue side if playing with brain. 

 

Agree with you. 3 points for flag capture against 1 point of blue is absolutely unbalanced to far extent, they need to close the gap by increasing it from 1 to 2/3 to make the game balanced. 

 

 

I played AS for about 5 minutes then decided I would never play it again. It's like no effort whatsoever was put into this mode, they stuck the bases on seemingly random parts of the map and placed spawn points around them. Take Highland AS for example. Blue base is in the middle of the map, red base is where it usually is in CTF. It takes about 5 seconds to drive from red to blue. What kind of a design is this? What is wrong with putting blue base at the end of the map, instead of right next to red base?

 

 

red mode is too easy in assault mode. 

 

when there are few points splash damage turrets ar just overwhelmingly powerful. 

 

thunders, strikers, magnums, all target the point

 

a few people score while defenders are wiped out. 

 

the game needs tweaking, but is interesting at times. 

 

but when it gets into gear, defenders i don't think can hold. just have 4 magnum constantly pounding the point. a few tanks scoring etc.

 

 

Blue needs the option to return a flag just like in CTF. 

 

Any competent Red team will have multiple tanks with flag-carrier so killing the first carrier is basically futile - the follow-up tanks just pick it up and finish the cap.

 

AS mode has multiple flags so it's not like Red doesn't have another flag already on the way.

Winners arent based on the side they are on!!! It is about the team and how well the coordinate their attacks or their defense.

Either team has a completely fair chance of winning. I like this mode because it promotes gameplay as a team. It is very hard to win this if you just have one or two good players who don't know how to play as a team (unless they are REALLY good... like me XD). I have not been in even 1 blowout in assault mode so idk what these people are talking about. While this mode may need to support small tweeks (base positioning, minor rules...) it is very good and easy to win on both sides if you have the good team.

 

One way this teammate thing could be implimented is if tanki starts playing players that speak the same language together, ie, russians with russians, usa with usa....

Unbalanced for both red and blue team depending on map (nice to see some adjustments to some of them, though I don't necessarily see yet how they'll help an average attacker like me) and skill/experience of players in each position (that will change over time). Seems that the tanki team has been fixing some issues since morning, which is good. It's a great new mode, I like the idea behind it and I loved it in the past new years events, so I hope tanki team takes their time to improve this mode or the new maps as much as they can for a good balance in this mode. 

 

 

If they can't, I suggest they modify Magnum then, because I feel like that's the number 1 turret which is causing unbalance in all matches, including in the other modes.

On Highland the bases are literally a few tank lengths apart. So much for a fair chance. And my point was that Assault mode was implemented poorly and inconsistently across the maps. Most the maps currently aren't suited well for AS and they didn't even bother changing them, let alone putting the bases in logical places.

Weird hybrid of CP and CTF, difference being the blue team can't return the flag which is ridiculous. Campers on both flags and points, hardly any combat involved, except Magnums blowing each other out. Surprisingly, many battles are balanced but I won't bother playing this again.

I can't help but feel like the red team has an advantage on small maps, but the blue team has an advantage on large maps. Using this reasoning, I believe most people will join the blue team on large maps or red team on small maps, or if they get randomly put into a certain map on a certain team, they'll leave. Other than that, it's a great concept.

I agree that some spots need to be adjusted slightly for the bases, but it is still possible with good team coordination

Not really on all maps. Have you played iran? It is so worse red wins within a few minutes

I didn't find assault mode in tanki online .... they said tomorrow it is comming but i didn't see.

They will be the Special mission in assault mode?

AS mode needs a lot of reworking at the moment. The points system simply doesn't work. Either the flags on some maps need to be moved around a lot, or the maps need to be changed to fit AS mode, or the whole game mode needs to be reworked completely. Because at the moment there's very few truly balanced maps - most are either too easy for red, or too easy for blue.

Blue side was playing “with brain”. Noob red team still won.

 

But as I said in my original post, players need a few days to adapt to this mode of game play. If Alterniva, makes big changes based on today, all that will happen is that the game will overcorrect and map balance will shift like a pendulum to the opposing side.

I haven’t played on Highways or Highland, but based on what I’ve read, I have to agree. Placing either the flag or he capture points in the middle of the map feels like a mistake.

Tanki Online international video blog - pilot episode

 

This was Tanki Online's first YouTube video, launched before Friday weekly V-Logs were created on the official Tanki Online YouTube channel.

 

 

Over the course of, since the release of Tanki Online, this amazing 3D game has made huge progress in both the way it functions and its updates.

 

Assault Mode is still one of Tanki Online's amazing progress in integrating new features. I am so proud that Tanki Online has manged to grow from a small game to a huge game which is sill growing day after day.

Yorkshire seemed designed with Assault mode in mind - once the defending formula was worked out (was just brutal initially) was decently balanced.  It had enough paths to ensure there were no complete bottle-necks.

 

But most current maps are not really designed with that in mind.

 

Kunger was silly - with only a couple approaches it became the mosh-pit Polygon CP used to be.

 

The capture-point needs to have more than a few approaches while also offering cover for defenders and a minimum distance from the flags.

I have discovered a flag bug in Assault Mode. When trying to return a flag on the blue team side, the flag goes through the tank. Flags are automatically returned as well which is not suppose to happen.

I've noticed that the flags disappear at a certain allotted time. I'm pretty sure this is planned, but not conventional.

 

Also, I had a weird glitch. Most of the bridges in battles became invisible (I'm pretty sure I looked like a pathetic noob, falling off and hitting the pillars). I'm not sure if this is relevant to ASL mode, because I never tested anything else or if it is just my computer.

That's not a bug, that's intentional.

Is it me or the game is very laggy? My ping is 20 but all tanks are lagging from times to times...

 

Btw, it's not possible for the defending team to return flag.
