Custom Paint

Recommended Posts

Allow people to create their own custom tank paint design for a certain amount of crystals. I.E. For 10,000 ??? crystals a person can have their tank painted bright blue with black stripes and pink circles on the sides. Sports fans would pay the cost just to put their favorite team's colors on their tank. Prohibit letters and wording due to copyright laws.

Won't happen, because as soon as this is added, all other paints will lose their value. For example, you could just get a texture of some legendary reward paint (like Champion) and set it to be your custom paint, despite never even playing eSports.

At one time, way back when, you could paint your tank the way you wanted, but no one would see it...only you. To all others your tank colors would be one chosen from your garage or default green. It didn't last very long, though.

Not to mention the fact that it would be nearly impossible to monitor what custom paints people are using, as some may use profane things.

Well, it's still very much possible but a blockable offence.

Paints lost their value already

Paints lost their value already

Apparently, to some, paint is still valuable. In I&S someone (I don't remember who) suggested that the paints you own be scrolled across your tank during battle. Another suggestion was for your tank to respawn with a different paint from your garage. Some players liked the ideas. To them, the paint has value. To me, it shows the world how much money you wasted on paint.

Yes, there are some videos about that on YouTube. But, I have 2 questions.

How do you know if someone is doing this, since only the player can see the paint? And why it's a blockable offence? It's not a hack. I know exploiting a glitch or a flaw of the game is against the rules, but what is the benefit here?

Years ago, there was a tank game on the internet. I forget what the name of it was. It went defunct because the Dev abandoned it and didn't keep it updated.

Anyway, you could paint your tank any way you wanted it. It was a lot of fun and no one took undo advantage of it. You went into your garage, clicked on "Paint" and was a color pallet of about 100 colors, all the tools you could ever need. You'd have a split screen. One side was your tank, which you could move around with your mouse to see it from all angles. On the other side was a template of what your tank would look like if laid out flat on a table. That was your work space. You could watch what was happening on your tank as you worked on the template. When you got tired of your creation, you could delete it and start all over. It was a lot of fun and all for free.

I painted my tank like it was made out of red bricks, deleted that. Then painted flowers (one of my hobbies is gardening) all around it including the leaves and stems. The top of the tank was blue with white clouds. After while, I deleted that and made it look like a sunset (or sunrise). Another time I had green scales and another time I had a collage of geometric designs.

Many players painted the flag of their Country on the front, back and sides of the tank. Some painted their tank their school colors and drew a picture of their school mascot. Some paint jobs were very intricate. There was a magnifier, which enabled you to get those really fine lines right where they belonged.
