I just use the Html5 link it kinda works but its still laging and sometimes it doesn't even load so the html5  still needs some work before its released.

Everyone who owns a 144hz monitor has to try this!

I've used it for a pretty long time now, works pretty much perfect for me. Seems like HTML5 supports 144hz monitors, which makes the game feel so smooth (if u own a 144hz monitor). Also the game overall looks more sharp and updated now. HTML5 is a step in the right direction, and this update will do tanki good in the future.

I have a dumb question. My tanki-playing device is a laptop with following specs:

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

CPU: Core 2 Duo T6500 @ ~2.10 GHZ

GPU: Mobile Intel 4 series express chipset family

I use the flash client for playing normally, but I'm curious as to which of my browsers could handle the html5? I have Chrome 49, Firefox 52 (final version for ESR channel) and opera 36. I'm assuming IE 9 is out of the question. Running the flash version on browser proved too laggy so I use the client where I get a solid 15-30 FPS. I used chrome 49 (it's the latest version that still supports vista) on HTML5 and it loaded Ok-ish but when i jumped into a battle it loaded, than my screen was just the interface and the bolted metal background, no gameplay whatsoever. I used the 'Inspect Page' function and i saw a couple of errors i don't understand, but some of them I think were linked to failure to show the battlefield. Any thoughts?

If this helps at all, here're my browser scores from html5test.com

Opera: 489/555 Chrome: 489/555 Firefrox: 474/555

I have a core 2 duo 3.09 Ghz with a gforce 610 (very bad graphics card, not for gaming) and I get 40-60 fps. I run Windows 7, which is lighter than vista so you will most likely get a slower speed with html5.

Slightly offtopic, but why are you still using Vista? Get Linux Mint or something because Vista is slow and insecure.

Cool, tkx! Well, I can't upgrade anytime soon. I'm currently saving up for a nice new modern laptop. But right now, I'm settling with what I have right now. After all, old laptop is better than nothing, right? Also, I updated my firefox and fiddled a bit with some stuff. I can run the html5 somewhat smoothly, everything loads, hoorah! except for the dreaded 'you've been removed due to inactivity' notification.

BTW, the laptop i use is roughly 8 years outdated, B) And, I may have minor disk corruption/other complications so I can't really allocate another partition of my hard drive.

I cannot get https://tankionline.com/html5/?resources=https://s.eu.tankionline.com&config=https://c1.eu.tankionline.com/config.xml&locale=en&lang=en to load in IE. It won't get past the loading screen in Edge.

It works on Chrome, but it unsatisfying, and some things distort. It loads in Opera, but it is glitchy, slow, and cumbersome. It also makes weird noises. Like the sound effects loaded are different or distorted.

Computer is an older i7 laptop with built in graphics, but also a high end graphics card. I'm never sure if the graphic card works with the browsers.

Overall, not satisfied.

HTML5 is no good.

What browser does Tanki recommend?

As I said, it won't work on IE or Edge, and it isn't functional for play on Opera. I played a couple more games on Chrome, which is okay, but it is astonishingly slow. Glitches, lags, button clicks that don't take. R-key doesn't work. G-key doesn't work. Entering the garage takes 5 times longer than the client. Sound effects are bad and volume is variable. (What's up with that?) No, HTML5 is a fail.

Forcing me to switch to HTML5 would be forcing me to forget Tanki.

No-HTML5-Firefx.jpg

I did a little research. As of December 2018, Edge, Chrome, and Firefox were considered good and comparable. Each as good as the other, with Firefox being the most compliant for HTML5. So, I installed Firefox. You can see the result above.

HTML5 is slow and many graphical features do not function. Totally unplayable in Firefox, much worse than Opera.

I'm being redundant, but the HTML version of Tanki will not try to load in IE, and it stalls at the load screen in Edge.

It's true, it's not the fault of browsers but the fault of Tanki that the HTML5 version sucks. All we can do is wait until it gets better.

I tried it a while ago with different browsers and just gave up. I suppose the devs will let us know when it's ready, although by the looks of things a lot of other (quite useless) stuff seems to be higher on their priority list.

Turn shadows off... it'll improve performance greatly.

one thing i like about html5 is that all the graphic settings in options are there... eg, shadows, fog, lighting etc

while when i play in flash the options for that are not there lol
