Holiday break from Daily Mission Chains

Gambling is any activity that includes two things, first you must pay real money, and second, you have no clue whether you will get what you originally want when you paid your money.

so yeah, i think that the containers fit really well in the gambling category, you pay with real money, and you have no idea on what you will get.

Tanki should at least give people the percentage of getting every item, especially the awesome paints since ALL players buy the containers JUST for those paints.

and why we can't get them using crystals ?

because it's a gambling, a real gambling activity needs real money, not in-game currency.

look at it every way you like that make you feel better about it, but Tanki do gambling now, as simple as that.

well then look at it this way.. your gambling with your life when you go and buy food in restaurants or even grocery stores , how do you know if the product inside the package is safe to eat . sure it says it but have you not seen seen so many items recalled due to issues in packaging or preparing them. same with restaurants not all are safe to eat in sure they have food codes to go by but not all follow the health codes of cleaning . seen so much in my time that it makes u sick to even eat out. but also not all people know how to prepared foods in the house also ..

so in other words life is a gamble no matter what you do ..

Nice video, you bought 25 containers and you got only 1 paint, i see that they reduced the percentage of getting rare paints already, and they will reduce it even more later i'm sure of it.

this is why i hate the concept of containers, Tanki now present gambling-like activeties to it's young audience wish i will never be cool with, you have no idea what you will get.

all of us want the containers just for the Legacy paints, nobody will ever want the containers for the x125 mines, so just make those paints on a salle on the garage for double theire original price and get done with it, and stop stealing kids money.  <_<

It's kinda worth it though, just the spectrum paint would've cost you $60 already... Now I've got the paint, 10 goldboxes, 30+ k crystals and some drugs for almost half that money

Thank you Nives and Tanki.

Like many players here, I enjoy doing Daily Missions without breaking my chain.

My 2 cents:

please in future, try not to repeat such mess on special occasions.. you are hurting your own reputation,  in spite  of all the hard work you do.

However, I appreciate your efforts to correct the mess every time.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all.

BTW, I almost voted Knives as best player of 2017...... almost  :D

Thanks for this change. I have one question though...

This:

"IMPORTANT: Before morning restart on January 8, you need to complete any 1 daily mission to keep the progress after the restart."

Does it mean that we need to complete and claim one mission on the 7th to save our progress?

well then look at it this way.. your gambling with your life when you go and buy food in restaurants or even grocery stores , how do you know if the product inside the package is safe to eat . sure it says it but have you not seen seen so many items recalled due to issues in packaging or preparing them. same with restaurants not all are safe to eat in sure they have food codes to go by but not all follow the health codes of cleaning . seen so much in my time that it makes u sick to even eat out. but also not all people know how to prepared foods in the house also ..

so in other words life is a gamble no matter what you do ..

Not a good analogy, a better one would be one where you buy a box with the promise that you'll get something from a grocery store: a box of canned soda; 1 whole chicken; box of canned beer; 5 heads of lettuce; 125 toilet paper rolls; 3500 lemons...

BTW, I almost voted Knives as best player of 2017...... almost  :D

It's not Knive, it's Nive ;)

Thanks for this change. I have some questions though...

1. So, there will be no changes to the altered missions that were completed and now aren't?

2. This, does it mean that we need to complete and claim one mission on the 7th to save our progress?

1. Unless something changes, current missions and their progress will stay until January 8th. It's close to impossible to alter for all.

2. To save your progress you need to complete just 1 mission until 02:00 UTC on January 8th. It can be done any day, any mission.

So what does this mean exactly? Can you re-state it again to make it clearer?

It sounds like TO is saying they are going to keep these ridiculously long missions all holiday period but don't bother doing them.  When the holidays are over the chain will still be intact where you left it. It sounds like they are saying: Do not play TO during the holidays.

As always, genius marketing from TO. SMH.

So the holiday "bonus" is ---- you get to LOSE your daily mission income. You get to LOSE your weekly payouts. But at least you do not lose your position in the chain.

This is acceptable to TO? This they cal a "fix".  The holiday "celebration" for me is to get at least 25k less income than I would during a non-"celebration"!

No, I am not going to spend three times as long playing TO every single day so yes my missions will go uncompleted and yes I will not get my weekly payouts. Wow thank you TO such fun!!!!!

What an inept gaggle of noobs.

Every holiday up t now there was a special mission: "Wear the holiday paint do XYZ' What exactly was wrong with that? The other missions remained normal. That gave players a special holiday bonus ... if they wanted it. It gave players the option to play normally .. as their time allowed. But for the biggest event of teh year they change it, put in a new triple-effort-for-all-missions system  that they obviously did not research or think through.

During the next daily reboot, return the Wear Holiday Paint mission system and junk this disaster!

You don't lose anything, it's exactly the opposite and I wish you read all of the announcement.

- If you don't play, you will not lose the chain and are free to return January 7th for 1 mission.

- If you continue to play during the break, and finish daily missions, nothing changes for you.

For example, previously you would complete 3 missions for x1 reward. Now, you can get a harder mission, complete it under the roughly same time limit and get x3 reward. How is this unfair, if you don't even need to worry about time?

P.S. You just copy-pasted your message from another thread  -_-

Yes, they screw it up, but this is a good solution, not perfect for any side, but you have the option to continue with the missions and play or take a break.

Yes. you are not getting income by not continuing the missions with the hard mission, but you're also not ranking up. You can still do the missions though, I just wanted to focus on a Supply mission, got only 20 of 30 in 3 battles, but surprisingly I completed a 900 exp in CTF and I'm very close to complete 1500 exp in battle.

Just remember to make at least one mission and claim it before the 8th so you can keep your mission chain progress.

Have some nice holidays. :)

PS: I had to change with crystals I think a DM mission and Finish 1st x3, two or three changes.

LW is saying that with normal missions he would complete the missions every day and get those rewards. Then at end of week he would collect the larger bonus for more rewards.

But because of the way Devs have messed up the daily missions by making them 3x as hard for basically the same reward - those daily missions are no longer worth the time it will take to do them.

Players are being "discouraged" from completing the missions.  So net effect is that there will be ~ 1 less week of collecting rewards since many people may not complete the chain over the week.

FYI... those rewards given for missions last night were not "x3 rewards".  They were mediocre at best.  I've seen way better rewards almost every day for months compared to what the system gave me last night.

You clearly do not understand.

Without the "celebration" I complete 1 to 3 missions / day. I gather those rewards. At the end of the week I get a weekly bonus.

With the "celebration" I complete 0 missions / day. I get nothing..  When 7 days pass, I get nothing.

Over the course of one week "celebration" I obtain at least - at least 15k fewer Cry than I would otherwise.  Now do you see my point?

No, it does not take the same amount of time. I just completed a "celebration" mission that took my 5 full games to finish. That was my easiest misison of the three. In a normal system I would have at least one mission I could do in one battle.  One hour fifteen ,minutes is a longer commitment than 15 minutes.  And maybe I do not want to play an hour plus of one single mode, Maybe like most days I want to finish one mission not three.

Capiche?

Furthermore this announcement from Tanki is telling me to not play go do something else.  Niw this is probably good avice. But it is a terrible marketing tool. It is in TO's interest to entice players to play. Here we have them telling us to not play.

All because of damage control attempts at a dumb decision to begin with, that being the decision to triple the requirements t finish every single mission.

Once again, what exactly is wrong with the Wear Holiday Paint type missions? If they had kept that I could just change out of the Wear Holiday Paint mission and play normally... you know .. the way I enjoy playing.

But hell, my sense of fun isn't the important thing I guess.

PS: You of course I did. I did not know this thread existed when i made the OP;.

With the Frosty contest you can do the 3 missions, claim 1, continue the chain at least to complete a week, do 400 kills or more to get containers...

We have options now.

Since daily missions were added to Tanki Online, I never skipped one day and never broke the mission chain. However, I will continue to complete daily missions to always get bigger and bigger rewards.

The point was replacing daily missions with something that takes 3x as long means there's a good chance people just won't bother with them.

And the Frosty contest "option" is basically a boring wasp-fire event.  Sure a bunch of people will spend a LOT of time over the next week trying to accomplish that.  And good for them.  But for many, we just don't have that much time to devote to a game.

Completing a couple simple missions/day for 1/2 hour was enough to complete the mission chain over a week.  This week - not the same.

As always, Wolv groks. Like a good chess player he thinks more than one move ahead.

---

To the mods and anyone who cares:

The reason I gripe is because I want to support this game financially. When I started I was impressed that I could so so fairly by buying paints (no real effect on combat) or GBs (actually helps other players more than the buyer).. So early on I did buy several GBs and a few days of Premium too.

Then the customer relations fiascoes started to roll. The bad programming bugs became SSDD. And worst of all, what seems to me deliberate misleading announcements. At best we are talking major 2nd-language difficulties.

Every time I see TO do something good (eg 3x weekly rewards which helps greatly in the game's broken economy) I see two of three mis-steps. Half done projects like alterations. Bugs that go un-addresed for months (Vulcan overheating). OP gear left without a single attempt to better the situation (you know what I'm talkin' about).

Yeah I gripe a lot. That's how it works in a vendor-customer relationship. I want to feel good enough about this game to support it,. Every time I think maybe TO management has turned the corner, I am soon proved wrong.

Merry Christmas. Happy New Year.

It's a fair concern.
