December 28th Update: Assault Mode, Containers

haha they still can't get this figured out right , they had these same issues when it first came out with the Christmas map years ago.. why even bother having this in the game when it still don't  work .. scrap this battle...

But it also brings forth the Lt General to Legend ranks a bit quick too.

Had wanted Hornet M3 all along, but now I'm starting to realise up against M3s and M4s that's about as useful as an M0 Wasp......

While Viking and maybe Hunter are the most versatile M3/M4 hulls, followed closely by Titan for endurance, Hornet can do well in high rank battles so long as you use that speed to your advantage. Hornet and Freeze is especially effective since your greater speed is magnified by the slowing effect of your weapon on the enemy.

I like containers but i am not buyer so when containers stay in the shop they will never returned to the game? I think black boxes.

Because when they will returned it will be good for non buyers :)

Hornet can be used with long-range turrets, not close one, since it would be easy for enemy to blow you away with a single shot. Hornet best fitted with magnum & works well with railgun.

It's nice to keep X3 daily mission chain reward, but would you please set the daily mission difficult back? Now obviously it's X3 difficulty since the holidays on Dec 22!

 

"Earlier today, December 22nd, after server restart holiday missions were launched not according to plan. Some tankers lost mission rewards they didn’t claim yet, and some got their missions replaced with harder missions, but the rewards stayed the same."

Today I had a look at ASL battles, there were only two of them, and both were too high ranked for me (Colonel-Generalissimo, what a joke)

On the other hand, there are dozens of CTF/CP battles. I'll stick with my original decision to keep playing the other modes and never ever think of ASL again.

You're missing out some really great team battles. Time of day is what matters. I have seen up to 25 ASL battles at a time for my rank bracket.

The ASL mode update makes it too easy for the blue team to win now. All they need to do is equip double damage, storm the red bases, and destroy the red team before they can reach the flags!!!

 

If it were up to me, I would make the blue team earn points by; controlling the point and getting one point every time a red team member carrying the flag is destroyed.

What is the purpose of having a Blue team in Assault Mode?

 

Defending the point. Their ability to do so should be the basis of their score. After some consideration, I’ve decided this change is not only counter to the mode’s basic theme, but moreover ineffective in changing battle outcomes.

 

Why? Here’s a hint...

 

Blue team does not care how it’s score is calculated.

 

Blue team only cares about stopping red team from making it to the blue point with the flag. Isida trains, Twins, mines, and heavy hulls with Magnum, Rail, and Thunder protections are the way to go. The only place to make that work is at the point.

 

Trying to turn the Blue team into a TDM format is just not well thought out. Red would just use fast hulls to speed past rushing Blues and attack the undefended point.

 

Changing Assault Mode battle outcomes requires changing map dynamics. The Designers understand that, and the early Red favoring maps have largely been reworked, usually in favor of Blue. Changing the Blue scoring mechanism has had zero effect on outcomes.

The b;ue TDM-style point system has another weakness. The few players in the game the harder it is for Blue. I played in a game with only 3 players / side. The low density of players meant few kills.  But red still gets the normal points per capture.  

 

I think Tanker-Arthur might be onto something. Perhaps a mix of kills + a slow timer count.

          I don't like the idea of lottery and seriously Tanki needs to put a thought about its effects on the long run . I want to know what I pay for. I opened plenty and got 3k crys or 120 speed ups in most of them. To me looks like a cheap scam, no offence. Will not buy it anymore. I hope to see it removed from the shop asap, but it can stay in the game dropped by system in the battles. Otherwise, improve idea of " Containers " , it can be done in so many ways, customizable, to be sent to others players, etc.Thanks!

It is just like CS:GO. Containers are a way to make huge money for developers. They will not remove them from shop.

 

Some players are willing to buy 100 containers, just to get the new animated paint. And they keep buying until they get the paint.

 

Gold Boxes and Containers are a huge $$$ income for the devs.

But you want others to buy them and maybe even get hooked. I think there are a lot of poor kids buying them too when they should spend that money in something better. i know it's their choice, but it feels like Tanki wants to take advantage of that weakness of human nature..
