December 28th Update: Assault Mode, Containers

Anyone else have their missions changed last night? I think one of my pre-Holiday missions, which had been mistakenly changed, got reverted to its pre-Holiday state.

 

It’s a completed mission which I’ve kept unclaimed in case of a day I can’t play, in service of keeping chains going.

You must be new to the whole marketing business..;p

I know about marketing, that's why I compare it to scratch off lottery tickets.

 

Just because others do it doesn't mean you should, nor that is right. 

 

Or should we just accept our fate?

How can you completely remove those finish first missions? You already removed finish first 2x and 3x how can you remove even finish first just one time??

 

This was one of the few missions those lazy bums could never ever complete unless they actually put in at least a little effort in playing properly.

Finish 1st was the cheapest mission of them all. Join a game that is about to end because one team is empty. 2 seconds later mission completed.

Found another flaw / oddity in the ASL mode.

 

Just finished a game on Brest with only 3-4 players / team. We were red. We won something like 96 to 30. I do not know how many caps  I made but it was at least 6. I had 5 kills and 10 deaths.

 

I scored 88 pts, a teammate 85, and the next guy in the 60s or 70s. Didn't quite catch it all.

 

The top scorer on the losing team had over 200 and the next two between 100 and 200.

 

So the losers got about 2x the exp of the winners even though the lost in a blowout.

 

I do not know if this is a flaw, exactly. But it does not seem kosher.

Very true, but since we can't change how marketing works, maybe people should realize it's all tricks.

you also have to remember most players in tanki are under the age of 16 and have no concept of money or how  to earn it in the real world .. until they do they will look at it as a gambling system ..

I guess since we can't change something we should just accept it quietly and we shouldn't worry about the fools, the immature, the weak, the pray... after all we are animals and life is for the fittest of them.

 

I don't know why I think this way, can you believe I'm not even religious?

Indeed, I hope their parents will help and guide them with that.

 

I guess since we can't change something we should just accept it quietly and we shouldn't worry about the fools, the immature, the weak, the pray... after all we are animals and life is for the fittest of them.

A little, sorry about that. You don't deserve it, it's Tanki that I'm upset at.

 

But there's also my true feelings. I just can't accept the idea that we should accept things just because they already exist.

 

And I can't accept the reality that we are simple competing animals, something I already know.

If someone thinks a 3d model skin in an online game is worth 50 or 100 dollars to them, what is the difference if they buy it for a flat price or if they buy 50 or 100 dollars worth of containers?  When I was 15 I was working and making enough of my own money to pay Tanki prices. 

 

If you want something real to worry about understand we are living in the middle of a mass extinction crisis. World War 3 is just a matter of time and it will make WW2 look like a walk in the park by comparison.

With up to 10 tankers per team that's ~ 10% chance - assuming your team-mates not many levels above you.

So it's more than "at least a little effort".

 

And many just switched that mission anyway - so Devs removed something that was just being switched by default.

 

You fail to recognize that daily missions were meant to entice players to play daily.  Not attempt over days - which can happen once you play regularly in Legendary ranks.

I'm pretty sure that you could easily argue this as breaking Rule 2.3.19. (Publication of the information that can encourage the desire to participate in gambling games)

containers destroed the value of legendary paints !.

R.I.P tanki :( the devs dont and wont stop destryoing you by this sucks updates .

Legendary bought paints. Once upon a time everyone[1] had the chance to buy them if they had enough crystals and at the minimum rank. I think everyone has agreed to this by now; they are still legendary paints, but are distributed from the containers now instead of being able to buy them separately. The chance of getting them is still low, however since anyone that gets those legendary paints usually brags about getting them, it seems to everyone else that a large majority of players are getting them, even though that's not so true. 

 

 

The reason I'm saying they were bought is because if they were bought, they don't have as much of a rarity as paints that have been earned. By earned paints I mean paints like gladiator, veteran, impulse, helper, etc. Tanki would never stand as low as to put those in the containers. But since bought paints could technically be bought by anyone without certain requirements, without doing certain tasks, or without having certain skills IF everyone was rich, hence they are eligible of being put in the containers normally. They are still called legendary because the probability of getting them is probably 1 in 100, I think. 

 

And yes, the fact does still remain that they were available for purchase for a very specific time in the past, and I agree with the value some people hold with that. I know how that feels since I tried my best in HallowMINE to earn the Nightmare paint, and luckily got it, back when containers were still not a thing. However, we are not the specialistic analysts here, Tanki decided to put them very likely because there were more positive points to put them in the containers than there were negatives.

Assault FLOP Mode  :D  :D  :D

 

In its current state, I tend to agree.  This morning I noticed that there were only four or five battles to choose from and those battles were not full.  That's not good to start with when the other battle modes each have 30-50 battles at the exact same time.

 

The underlying problem is that the map largely determines the winning team.  I played Highways and again noticed that Blue team completely slaughters Red.  I didn't stay.  I then played Bridges and again noticed that the bridge above the blue capture point enables Red team to win easily by jumping off the bridge onto the point.

 

IMO balance of any Assault Mode map should slightly favor the Red team, but not so much that it is pointless in terms of crystal rewards to play Blue.  Let me explain.  Blue team is playing TDM, which is no different that playing most other modes.  This change IMO was a mistake, since half the battle can be played in any other mode - in other words there is reduced appeal of Assault Mode as a unique format for Blue team.  So, back to Red - as it stands Red team is the only unique play style for Assault Mode - the need to carry a flag one way for a capture and cover ally tanks while they make their journey, and follow along close enough to pick up a flag from a destroyed team mate before it auto-returns.  This is good stuff.  But many maps like Highways are merely slaughter-fests for Red team. This further discourages players from joining Assault Mode battles.  Even with a unique play style, no one is going to join a battle just to get run over and thus get no crystals.  Red team needs a fighting chance in all Assault Mode maps if this format is going to survive and thrive.

 

Alterniva, please consider this a plea to save Assault Mode.
