Cheaper Alterations

Recommended Posts

I started this topic because it annoys me how expensive the alterations are.

Have you noticed, all of the M1 alterations are 12,000 crystals more expensive than Thunder M1, the most expensive M1 turret?

And for the M2s, the M2 alterations are only cheaper than Hammer, Striker, Magnum, Twins, Thunder, Shaft, and Smoky. Every other turret is at least 3 thousand crystals cheaper than their M2 alterations (Railgun, Firebird, Vulcan, Ricochet).

And by the way, Freeze and Isida M2 only cost 61-62% of their M2 alterations.

What I’m proposing is to drop the price of M1 alterations to about 30,000 crystals or so, and drop the price of M2 alterations to about 75,000 or so.

Because let’s face it: the Alteration is more expensive than the actual thing.

Your idea makes sense, but we do not accept ideas for reduction of items' prices. Alterations are so expensive because they heavily impact the turret's gameplay, whether it's M1 or M4. So buying an alteration is somewhat similar to buying a whole new turret, only at a much lower price. You're not expected to buy an alteration as soon as it unlocks. Alterations are more of an end-game feature, for when you're bored of playing a turret the way it is.

Don't forget that you can get alterations at a discounted price during holiday events.

In addition, remember, you can always rent an alteration before you make the decision of purchasing it completely. This will allow you to make up your mind that whether the alteration you're buying is worthy or not, and can save you from wasting crystals on alteration you won't like after you've purchased.

You got your math wrong when you said that the m1 alts are 12k crystals more expensive than m1 thunder. The difference in pricing is exactly 11,400 crystals with no discounts.

I was estimating.

Oh, Okay, that makes sense.  :)

Tbh 80% of the alterations offered in-game make its turret much stronger than it was before. Take the freeze 2x range, ricochet 2x range/speed, railgun increase power. They all benefit the turret more than they decrease its capabilities by a wide margin.

However, I would like to argue that the prices for alterations should not be the same for each one at its modification level. For example, freeze has this m2 alteration that is called "Corrosive Mix", which basically gives freeze 10% damage increase while getting rid of the freezing effect. It costs 100k crystals. IT'S TERRIBLE. What's the point of using freeze after this? Anyways, this is a heap of crystals to waste just to unlock this feature. However, some of them are very good, like stated above. Not all of the alterations should cost 50k or 100k. The corrosive mix, for example, should cost 15k crystals. Some of the m2 mods are so bad that they should cost only about 10k (Railgun's should cost 100k, those are OP). The good/decent modifications should cost in the range of 30-70k crystals. And the absurdly OP modifications should cost 100k. The devs should also take time into balancing the modifications.
