Find out what paint is best for you!

I have created a spreadsheet that shows you what paint is the perfect paint for you!

How to use it:

1. Download the file here: http://storiola.file...ts-defences.xls

2. Do not edit the cells from A1:O45. Editing them will make the file mess up. I tried to "protect" the boxes but to no avail. :/

3. At the bottom, on the cells B34:J34, there is a row of numbers. They are by default set at a number I think suitable

4. These should be changed to whatever suits you. Add higher numbers to the weapons you find annoying and need turret protection from, lower numbers for the ones which is not such a priority to you.

7. In the "K" column, the numbers will change due to the functions I put there (although the functions are very crude if you were an advanced Excel user). This shows you how suited for you each paint is, with the higher number graded with a higher coefficient.

8. The "M" column will also change to show how good value for money each paint is, with N and O ranking each of the paints.

An image of my result:

so in my case, the best paint is jade and spark, then emerald and then zeus. The best value paints for me are swamp, winter, roger, and alien.

A few notes:

-Make sure the numbers are sensible and relative to each other. For example, having the richochet coefficient as "1000" and having the rest of the coefficients at about 10 would mean that the paints with richochet protection would have huge numbers, even if it was only 5% richochet or something.

-Also, do not lift up the numbers for the sake of it. For example, just because everyone else says that railgun protection is epic, do not give railgun a high number just because of that. This is your chart, not anyone else's!

-Of course the more expensive paints will get a higher coefficient.

-Looks, of course, are not included in the ratings.

-Value is rated directly per price. This means that the 500 crystal paints are going to be considered as the best value, despite being absolutely rubbish. Thus, the value might not be the most accurate value there might be.

-Small protections (such as 5% and 10%) are absolutely rubbish in the real game but are weighted heavily here. As a result, paints with lots of small protections get weighted very heavily. A way to avoid this from being the case is to put "0" as the weighting on any weapons you don't want protections from.

Hope it helps! :-)

I have created a spreadsheet that shows you what paint is the perfect paint for you!

How to use it:

1. Download the file using this link

2. Do not edit the cells from A1:J25. Editing them will totally mess up the file and the point of it.

3. At the bottom, on the cells A27:J27, there is a row of numbers. They are by default set at natsu's numbers (albeit slightly edited).

4. These should be changed. Change them to numbers that suit what weapons you want to have turret protection from. For example, I would seriously like to have richochet, thunder and twins protections when I play: other weapons are not so prioritised for me.

5. So thus, I would change the coefficient of richochet (which is in the cell I27) to a high number, and the coefficients of thunder and twins to similar numbers, but for the other weapons I wouldn't put so high a number.

6. The numbers I would recommend would be between 0.5 to 3. So for smoky (the weapon I need least protection for) I would put 0.5, and richochet (which is the most important) I would put 3. However, if you want, you can use higher or lower numbers.

7. In the "J" column, the numbers will change due to the functions I put there (although the functions are very crude if you were an advanced Excel user).

8. The highest numbers in the row of the paint will mean that paint is the best suited for you.

An image of my result:

so in my case, the best paint is spark, then corrosion.

Now i don't want to be a bum or anything.

But isn't it obvious that one of the 12,000 crystal ones will be the best?

Good idea' date=' but it would be much more useful if it addressed cost as a factor.[/quote']

I thought that that would be obvious for people to work out, and anyway, I can't think of anyway to do that. If you could tell me of a way to do that using cell functions I would really like to know. EDIT: done.

Yes, but it wasn't so obvious that dragon is better than storm for me, for example. The point of this is not to find out which paint is the total best for you, but which paint is best for you to buy. For example, my budget would be 1k, so I should choose winter to use as my paint. Just choose the paint that is the best within your budget.

Also, could you shorten your quote a bit???

So you're saying that Swamp is the best paint if compared with price to worth?

obviously. It costs 24 times less than spark etc, after all. I mean, would spark be 24 times better than swamp?

Bumped because I've updated it all and because most of the people on the forum at the moment won't have seen the original and might actually recognise this for what it is ;)

i have no idea wat to do

Basically, download it, and put in weightings of how much protection from each weapon you need in the columns of the weapons. The rest should be self-explanatory.
