Gerald had started searching Joseph at around 10 in the cold night. Seven cups of black coffee and 3 hours later, he’d still not found anything. He knew he had a shortage of time, but going like this was impossible. He decided to get some rest, and slept like a rock until 1 in the afternoon. Then, he began searching again. Gerald had no luck until he searched "museum thief," and miraculously found what he was looking for. At that moment, his phone rang.

“Yes?”

“It’s me, Gerald. How far have you gotten?”

“Well, not very far at all sir. I’m just trying to find out more about this Joseph Carter.”

“Well, I hope for your sake that you get it done. If you need any help like tapping his communications or his phone, give me a call and a number or an email.”

“Will do sir.” Eventually, time became irrelevant and Gerald was completely engrossed in his case. At long last, he found the email which belonged to this Joseph Carter. Gerald excitedly picked up his phone and called his boss.

“Sir, I need help tapping into an email please,” Gerald said calmly.

“Alright, what’s the email?”

“Sir, it’s gexjo@gmail.com”

“Alright, give me a couple minutes.” Gerald was disconnected from his boss momentarily.

“The password to that email is Bsajsj1@#%!AC591 Gerald. I think you’ll want to note that down.”

“Yes, sir. Thanks, sir!” Gerald managed to jot down the password and headed over to Gmail, anxious to see if this was going to work. He typed the password and success! The first and by far, most difficult part of his job was done. All he had to do now, was take some email with proof and that’d be the case solved. That was exactly what Gerald had found.

“Boss! I have a screenshot of this guy! I have some coded messages from him!”

“That won't work Gerald. It will get rejected if we try to call it proof because of all the increased photoshopping. I've found a place where we can meet him and get the confession. Come to my office." Gerald sluggishly got out of his house and to his office.

“It’s a brisk day, isn’t it Mr Gerald?” His boss said, digging into his pockets.

“Yes, though I sense it’s going to get a lot colder. Would I be right sir?”

“Well… yes. I’m sorry you have to go through this, but there’s really no other way.”

“That’s fine. At least I’m not dead.”

“Yes, you can be glad for that. Now, if we’re sending you into the field tonight, you’ll need to have at least some basic equipment. Let’s go to the armoury, shall we Gerald?”

“Wow, it’d be my honour, sir.”

Gerald walked into the armoury. It wasn’t quite as big as Gerald imagined, but it was covered with lots of different weapons. Pistols to assault rifles with Grenade launchers. His office had it all, which was rather strange for such a firm.

“Yeah, you can stop looking at the big guns for now Gerald. Now Mr Taylor, is the new pistol ready?”

“Yes sir,” a tall man with golden hair replied,”It’s ready. It fires 9mm rounds. If you can see your target, this thing can hit it.” Taylor said as he pressed the gun into Gerald's hands.

“Wow, that feels so… nice.”

“Well, it also feels like 50 grand. Take good care of it, Gerald, you only get one."

Gerald was quite excited about his mission, but a sense of fear also set in. What if he died? He knew it was irrational to think like that, but Gerald just couldn't help it, even when he arrived next to another car at the Montmarly museum in the dark of night.

“Gerald… I know you’ve never killed anyone before, so if It comes to you or him, you take that shot and you back to us. Although try to just get the proof and the confession, it’ll make everyone’s life a lot simpler.

“Yes, sir.” Gerald was now sweating profusely. Among the flood of thoughts that crossed his mind was the idea that he could die tonight. He took one last deep breath and opened the doors, and went into the museum.

“So this is the relic that has been asked for.” Gerald quickly turned on his camera with his clammy fingers and started recording what he saw when he heard the voice.

“It’s me again, Joseph from G.E.N.E.X. and today I’m going to take this relic. This video is proof that I was actually here and that this isn’t a hoax." Gerald managed to capture a video of Joseph holding the relic. Joseph, unaware that he had been recorded, walked towards Gerald. Gerald didn't know how to use his gun, but he knew full well how to lie.

“YOU THERE! WHO ARE YOU? HAVE HOW LONG WERE YOU THERE, LISTENING TO ME?!” Joseph raised a gun to Gerald’s forehead.

“Estoy mas confoundindo, por favour ayuda me,” Gerald replied.

“Oh! Estas de Espana? Si?” The man replied.

“Si. No hablo ingles, y no sabo donde you puedo vas ahora.”

“Te puede vas de la Puerta alli.” Joseph pointed to a door.

"Gracias," Gerald slowly walked out the museum, sweating like a pig.

“Gerald? Did you get it done?”

“Y-y-y-yes s-s-s-sir.” Gerald barely managed to speak.

“Good. That’s one task down, two to go.
