Change M3 unlock rank

I would prefer that all M2s are adjusted and unlocked at one rank, as well as they did with M3.

 

But this does maybe not solve the issue with the MUs that you talk about as well.

 

Not at one rank, they should be adjusted from Second Lieutenant to Lieutenant Colonel.

 

Freeze M2 gets opened up at WO5 plus a lot of M2 kits too. That's too early as what I saw everyone at that rank was M0s/M1s.

 

I got Voltage kit and managed to buy Rail's alteration and I was like earning 800-900xp without drugging.

Not really... Free players dont have to wait 3 months... They can just instantly MU to m4 during a 50% off MU 70%off SU sale... which happens all the time nowadays.

 

My friend master_of_disaster94 is a completely free player and thats excatly what he did... and he's been smashing legends since.

Not actual free-to-play players who exist in the real world.  No free player at LtGen has the well over one million Cry in cash needed to buy an m3 kit then MU hull, turret and module from 0 to 15 or 20 during one 50% / 70% sale. This is the rel world of free-to-lay tanki not some world of forum fiction.

 

I suggest your friend was not 100% accurate about never augmenting his in-game situation at the Shop. Less that 100% accurate seems to be a theme here after all.

 

Or perhaps I should say was impossible. A new account starting off with all this contianer income might be able to come close to that.  But only with great focus.

Well, actually, I think there might be a way, that is if they participate in newspaper contests, VOTW and QOTW submissions, and other events in the game.

Why not at one rank?

 

WO5 is much to early for M2s, I agree on that.

I think more about a single rank from to , where all M2s get unlocked.

It's not the unlock ranks that need looking at, it's the whole who-can-play-who scenario.

 

This was me two weeks ago with M2 being hammered constantly by four Lt Gens with full M4s.

No matter what rank you can get equipment at, there is no way M2's or below should be up against M4s.

That’s what I am saying but getting them to one rank may cause some kind of instability

In 2016, all M3 hulls and turrets became unlockable only at Marshal. Before that, the first M3s unlocked at Brigadier and the last M3 equipment unlocked at Commander. The motive behind this change was provide a solid end-game meta. The developers claimed that earlier unlocking M3s were weaker than ones that unlocked later, and by tweaking the parameters and having them all unlock at one rank would improve game balance for higher tiers. 

 

This created a huge gap between M2 and M3 players. Perhaps it improved balance in higher ranks, but at the same time it put those in the intermediate stage between M2 and M3 at a disadvantage. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't buy M3s and were forced to either pay for micro-upgrades (which at the time were more expensive) or buy kits.

 

Some time later, rank brackets increased, which in turn put M2 players at an even greater disadvantage.

 

Then came the MU update. Suddenly there seemed to be a way for M2 players to compete, since MUs cost the same as buying stock equipment. Everyone and their mother began to MU their equipment. We can already somewhat see the problem: if M2 players are running around with fully upgraded equipment, what was the point of restricting the unlock rank to Marshal?

 

Fast forward to the present day. Anyone who has some grey matter in their head is going to start upgrading their equipment as soon as they buy it, because there is no point in waiting to buy the next modification when MUs cost the same. Thus, battles are chock full of players who have 10/10 equipment. It has become part of the current meta to MU. Thus we have M1 players that are actually sporting M2s, and M2 players with M3s. Is this a good thing? I'm not sure but I'm leaning towards no.

 

The point is, there is no longer any point in restricting M3 unlock rank to Marshal, since the majority of players already have M3 level equipment when they should have M2s. So, why have this awkward intermediate stage? It's a low point in terms of progression, where you grind a lot without unlocking anything (except for modules). The increase in M3 unlock rank may have made some sense when it was introduced, but the game has changed. There is no reason for it to exist now.

This is no longer relevant after the modifications update. Developers said that the equipment gap is not so great, while the players who do have an advantage of high modification tanks at lower ranks will end up gaining EXP and ranking very quickly, thus restoring balance.

 

Idea invalid. Closed.
