Intergalactic battles: Chaos

“And who might you be?” Simon’s frustration had gotten the best of him.

“Why do you care?” Marie retorted.

“Well, if I’m attempting to kill your boss right here, I think it would do me good to kill his savior too.” Simon leveled his gun at Marie’s head.

“Railgun now AI!”

“Railgun ready to use.” replied the cheery AI within a second.

Marie quickly fired a shot which just missed Simon’s head. Though that happened, it managed to vaporize the computers it hit. Simon knew that Marie might not be able to hit him, but her willingness to do so still scared him. Simon quickly escaped from there.

“Sir, I’ll get you to-”

“Save it. We both know that the dagger punctured my heart. It’s only a matter of time before I drop dead. I declare you … the captain of the ship.”

“That won’t stop me from trying to save you, sir. AI, get the flight systems online again. The repair should have done the trick.”

“Attempting to activate flight systems,” Ai paused, “Activation successful. Flight systems online.”

Marie instantly flew out of Simon’s ship and got back to hers as quick as she could. Now, the battle looked even more hopeless. Ivan’s crew was almost spent, and even without their armor, Simon’s army was still a force to be reckoned with.

“Ted! Ted! Here, take Ivan! He’s hurt badly. He said that Alex stabbed his heart with a dagger!.”

“Woah, Woah. Slow down Ma-”

“Just do it now Ted! Explanations can come later!”

“Alright, alright.” Ted put Ivan on a stretcher and slowly hauled him off to the medbay.

Marie flew back to the front with guns blazing. A few minutes later, her crew was cheering for her as she soared in the safety of the sky, the rocks and knives of her enemies couldn’t scratch her. One by One she almost picked off the entire army. Hope was rekindled.

“Marie, I just wanted to tell you that-”

“Louder Ted! I can’t hear you!”

“IVAN'S NOT GONNA MAKE IT!”

When she heard that, something inside of her broke. Ivan was the toughest person she knew. He’d taken far worse and lived to tell the tale. Her emotions took over and soon she found herself in the medbay.

“Quick! Is he okay?”

“No. He’s lucky to have been alive this long. We can’t save him though, he has no time that dagger damaged his heart’s valves, the blood is flowing-”

“Ivan… I’m sorry that I didn’t come earlier. Thanks for helping me all those years. I would say a lot more… but that would take longer than you have. Rest in peace, sir...” Marie’s voice trailed off. Tears broke from her eyes.

“Death catches up with everyone eventually… I guess mine caught up with me sooner. Save the crew Marie, don’t let my sacrifice go in-” Ivan’s breath faded.

“Ah good! I wanted a more violent end to that Ivan, but I guess that'll just have to suffice.” Simon menacingly walked into the medbay. Marie immediately reached for the A-22, only to realize that it wasn’t there. She grabbed out her electro sword and with a beeping sound it started up. Simon pulled out his own electro sword, a much bigger electro sword, it’s handle covered in gold.

“What a good day! Two people I hate, dead on the same day!”

Marie was mad. After losing her mentor, she couldn’t think straight. She leaped at Simon and tried to punch him. With success, she caught her enemy off guard. Simon was taken aback by Marie’s courage. But Marie wasn’t done. She extended her leg in one, swift movement and landed a hit straight on Simon’s face again. Simon fell back.

“That’s the best you can do is it Simon?”

“Rule number one of fighting enemies. Never ask your enemy if that”s the best they can do,” Simon got up again. Marie her fist at his face. This time he dodged and smashed his elbow into Marie’s rib cage. Marie howled in pain. Marie tried to punch again. Simon caught her punch and bent her wrist.

“If that’s what Ivan taught you, it’s pathetic. I guess he realized that he shouldn’t make his students stronger than him or equal to him.”

Marie was on the floor, curled up and in lots of pain. She mumbled something to Simon.

“Speak up. I can’t hear you when you whimper,” Simon kicked her back.

“He didn’t make me as strong as him...but he made me as fast as him!” Marie rose from the floor, a dagger in her hand, and lashed it across Simon’s chest. After slashing a few times, the dagger dug into Simon’s chest. He grunted in pain.

“Good… I planned for this Marie…” Simon opened his jacket, revealing a dozen or so neutron grenades, with a clock counting down from 3 minutes. Ted reached for the A-22, and Marie punched his face, leaving him unconscious.

“AI, flight systems! I’ve had more than enough of this crap.” the boosters of her damaged A-22 suit fired up, and soon enough, she was flying high. Then, she heard a very, very loud explosion, followed by the sight of her destroyed ship.

An interesting piece! I'll be sure to read the other sequels. Although I wouldn't call it ground breaking, I am enjoying this much more than the Batman series.

Yay! Thanks Destrod! I know this isn't a Tankiverse Fanfic, however I have realized ways to improve the plot holes you mentioned. I would tell you what the potential plot holes were, however if you don't seem to take an issue with it I feel that it is best to leave things.
