Rugby Mode is coming January 27th

do you spend all day watching the numbers go up and down?

Nope, there is a graph that does it for me, it shows the last 5 days.

However, yes I keep screenshot (takes like 5s per week) for accuracy when some nooba pretend numbers are still going down (which is not the case anymore).

 

Why killing someone with the ball does not give extra experience? When we kill someone with the flag, it's 20 points.

I didn't check that. Are you sure about it? Maybe it is lower than in CTF but still noticeable. Edited by Viking4s

Will you be able to make rugby pro battles?

From Nives announcement post...........

Rugby mode will be available only in regular, non-PRO battles. A new button will be added to the Lobby, which will join you to a new Rugby match, and Battle List will also receive a new filter button for Rugby mode. Battles in Rugby mode will have a short name RGB. In PRO battles the new mode will appear at a later date — after we add the new updated maps to PRO battles.

Personally, I like Rugby mode. A few tiny things I would suggest as improvements.

 

     The ball is almost impossible to find when someone has it. With a flag, you essentially have a huge red/blue marker hovering above your tank that can be seem from miles away. With the ball, it is small (smaller that a turret might be) and not particularly brightly coloured. The first time I tried it, in Yorkshire, a map with lots of cover, I spent 3/4 of the game without a clue where the ball actually was. 

     Possible solutions: Make something more visible, maybe have the green ball indicator, but it only refreshes every ten seconds or so. That way, you actually can have a clue where to go. Alternatively, make a larger, more visible ball?

 

    Having the ball airdrop in gives druggers a minor advantage, in the same way that it is far easier to catch a gold with a speed, a DA, and a repair. Regular players cant necessarily afford to fully drug every time a ball drops, and so are less likely to catch it.

    Solution: Make the drop time shorter?

 

Criticism aside, I really like the new mode. It's quite different to any other, and should have some good eSports potential in the coming months.

 

Minor question, which direction does the ball fly if a magnum with 90 degrees presses F? And does a 45 degree angle make the ball fly further?

I checked, I got 10 points and nobody else damaged the player with the ball.

The mode doesn't look like it is finished anyway. If they alter it don't expect 20 as there is more ball carrier killed than flag carrier killed.

the ball is not visible when its on a corner of your turret because it turns somewhat transparent

and without notifications, no one knows who has it and the ball carrier can just slip away and get some free xp

There has to be some sort of bug going on, Tanki. If this is intentional, trust me it's not helpful at all for those that don't listen to the in-game sounds (I play in quietness sometimes, especially at night). Where are the written notifications for when someone takes/loses flag? Don't give me a reason to have my earphones with me all the time, I don't want to  :((((

 

 

The following are a must as well for rugby mode:

1) Have a small pointer on the screen showing where/in which direction the ball is IF you are too far away from it. (If someone close to you has the ball, there isn't a big need for the pointer). OR, if the person who has the ball is BEHIND you, then the pointer will be pointing the bottom of the screen. I'm sure I've seen this in other games that I suddenly can't remember. Basically, point should appear if ball carrier is not in line of sight or too far away.

2) [Name] has scored a goal! (red or blue depending on team / yellow or green depending on team)

3) And a minor change to make the language used more understandable: "[Name] has taken the ball" instead of "[Name] has captured the ball"

I got a high score of 936.

Nearly every time I enter I get a critical error, but for most of them I click Ok and go about the game. 5% of them result in a white screen, and me not spawning, but then I just tap the Esc. key and go back to the battle List.  Also, most strikers I see are combination jump and turret hackers. GOLDMODE_LEGEND was acquiring targets way to quickly for a m0.4.

And that :"TOUCHDOWN" noise has to go. Hearing it every 20 seconds is awful.

I don't know about you, but I've never noticed houses, trees, and castles on a rugby pitch....

 

Something about a huge, totally open expanse of green makes it quite easy to see...

I agree, they need to rethink all the RGB sounds, I say make them simpler but intuitive.

They should make it that you have to pass once to every team member so you can score.

I join battles to try finish rugby missions... and only the higher ranked people get the ball... :angry:

The problem is the RGB score and Crystal missions, there should only be EXP and Kill missions, for this mode at least. like:

 

Earn 500 EXP in RGB mode

 

and Destroy 20 tank in RGB mode.

I presume these notifications were removed with this update so can they be put back? It's an absolute pain to play without them because you don't know who's flag was taken without filtering through the kill list which takes too long. :LOL:

over the week max was ~40k

max was 45k friday

max was 48k yesterday

max is 46k today

 

So it doesn't look like 5xGB or Rugby mode effect - its more if the STD weekend effect.

 

However 40K during the week as to do with the addition of container in the weekly chain. :ph34r:

Get some brain, this is nothing to do with addition of containers or 5X Gold drop chance, the real reason behind such high numbers is =|>

 

Everyone wants to finish their super-missions, which will be removed once XT-skins release.

it doesnt matter about angle it will always fly forward and at the same speed and angle

It's always nice when someone talk to someone else like this.  Keep it up you are doing a great job.  :huh:

 

I'm pretty sure that there is only legend playing this game nowadays and the world revolve only around them. Flash news, it doesn't.

 

However this is partially true, this would contribute to a higher participation, but not to the extent that you are suggesting. lol 45k generalissimo & legend with super missions I'd like to bet on this odds. Not even 15k, more likely 1k. Not every legend/generalissimo fancy those super mission and once you have it it doesn't require you to play everyday.

Many players don't know how to play this complex mode, and the lack of notification doesn't help, but those druggers that know how to play have learned things like passing the ball to the enemy noob and then kill him or her for extra points. More reasons to only join the winning teams.

 

And the friend system needs to be revised, because of it you find battles with high ranking friends on one side and low ranking noobs on the other. Add to that the Finish top 3, crystal, flag and score missions and you get one sided battles most of the time.

 

When the battle is even it gets interesting.

 

The size of the ball I think is right and I don't think it needs a marker, just make the ball indicator blink and to make it brighter...

  • New game mode «Rugby».
  • 23 new paints for containers.
  • Added new daily missions «Earn experience» / «Earn crystals» / «Capture Flags» / «Score goals» for Rugby and Assault.
  • Disabled new super missions «Destroy 9999 enemies» and «Earn 99999 experience» from appearing in new daily missions.
  • Disabled battle notifications at the center of the screen.

So it wasn't a bug  :o
Now we have a better view but at least it was clear on what was going on, if our flag or the opponent flag was taken.
