Thunder nerf - too OP

Recommended Posts

I'm just sitting here using freeze/firebird/isida and never be able to reach the wasp.

Well, he's talking about any long range to medium turret, can easily kill a light hull

I would like to throw this point on the table:

Thunder is easily the most overused turret (besides isida). If it is the worst turret in the game, why does everyone use it?

What about Railgun?

What about Railgun?

It's a thunder thread. Plus, thunder is arguably more common than railgun. Theres no sure way to find out which one is more commonly used but most battles involve more thunders than railguns.

Plus, this does not counter my argument saying how thunder is extremely overused.

Thunder can suit many players playing styles. And Idk about everyone else but I have a thunder module to protect myself against my own self damage.

It takes the least skill out of any mid range turret.

Smoky - you have to keep your target in aim to do max damage

Vulcan - pretty hard to use without an isida, actually

Railgun - you have to worry about your aim getting knocked off

Shaft - longer reload in arcade, and has a scope mode

Twins (Plasma Core Accelerators) - Harder to lead shots with

Ricochet - Also harder to aim with due to delayed hit

Magnum - You have to visualize your shot instead of just clicking

Striker - Delayed hit, and has a salvo mode

People don't like paying attention when they play and Thunder is extremely simple to use. Shoot at anyone infront of the turret, and drive backwards when they spot you (people don't care about losing the kill)

i have Thunder M4, and it's usless in most battles even with ton of double damages because everybody have a 30% protection at least against it, i don't see why people want to nerf it even more.

yep

EVERYONE has thunder protection , it is annoying but it does not necessarily make it weak . Maybe it does for higher ranks but not for people in my range.

In spite of that I still use it , and with a decent internet connection i always manage to claim the first spot in my team .

So, things Thunder loses to, and these are from my experience. Medium hull tanks lets say.

Close range all, especially freeze keeping it from hitting late shots/Fire makes me self accidentally

Riccochet

Smoky

Twins

What it beats

Railgun

Magnum

Idk about shaft, probly not since it can one shot a lot of hulls.

Point is, Thunder does well in areas where it can hit people close together, but I struggle a lot when shooting one on one. Im not a pro tho

What do you mean? As far as I remember Ricochet was one of the last M3s to unlock.

and it's insanely common in my rank range , because it is one of the first M2 to unlock .

It's too weak. It really needs to get buffed.

it may not need a nerf , but it definitely does not need a buff . it is good the way that it is now

I love my Thunder, but one of the main reasons I don't play anymore, is that by the time you get down to Gizmo or Foot ranks, its all but useless.  You get mown down, chewed up and spat out, due to low dmg and reload times.  If you want to smurf it, smurf the low end versions, but at M3+ it really needs buffing not further degrading.

Aunty.

I think it's fairly balanced at most levels.  M1 (for example) might seem OP at first - but - it's got such a high unlock rank for M1.

Thunder might lose to some turrets in a pitched battle - but maybe that's not it's purpose.  The Splash is very important.  Many don't make enough use of it, thus negating one of it's important advantages.

- target packs of tanks - not necessarily for a kill but for weakening many enemies. Especially important wrt pack of flag defenders

- keeping under cover while delivering splash near an enemy - I killed many firebirds waiting behind a wall to ambush me - I just shoot at ground near them until they emerge - then finish them off with direct hit.

Generally I'd agree, but its been a long time since I thundered that early in ranks now.  On the flip side, don't forget every man and his dog at gizmo or foot has emerald in her, or his garage.... 50 prot vs thunder.  And that's where further smurfing it becomes a problem later.  I don't see anyone playing with it at these ranks, you just can't effectively.

It's cyclic though - if no one is playing Thunder, they are playing something else.

Lots of riccos being used so likely more ricco protections will be bought and equipped.

People are buying Magnum protections because it is annoying and OP.  If everyone has Magnum protection should we call Magnum UP?

I think no...

It is just a part of skill, Xp/Bp players do that often. (referring peek-a-boo-style)

I'm worried thunder deals less damage.

A random high damage system would be nice, Where 35% chance to deal like 1200+ or something.

Of course a thunder user would want a thunder to be OP

hell no , that would make it too powerful , I use thunder and I like it the way that it is now , I don't want it to be OP as well as UP.
