Will the new matchmaking be the end of tanki?

Depending on how they implement Match-Making, it could slowly wean me off "normal" battles and just into Custom.

At least for this account.  Gaining crystals quickly not as important since I don't have to worry about crystal-to-exp ratio.

Just upgrades and more Magnum modules (if they ever release any).

In my opinion the game will force a "grind then play for fun" mentality. Play a few mind-numbing matches using MM and then go do whatever you want in PRO.

There was NO variety under the previous system There'd be 40 Poly CP battle 20 Noise 10 Monty Carlo. I'd have to server hop 10 times to find one battle worth trying to play that wasn't a mindless grinder. Please. The current system is tenfold better than the old one.

I disagree. Admittedly, Polygon was always popular, but there were still more obscure maps you could find regularly. And if you couldn't find one you could always create one. With the current system, it's the same exact thing, except now the server chooses the maps for you. There are the same 10 maps in the rotation constantly. It gets very, very repetitive, especially given that a good number of these maps were and still are unpopular. Perhaps not all of them are meat grinders. But they aren't particularly fun either.

What is true is that the current PRO battle selection is always 90% meat grinders. PRO battles have stayed the same, but custom maps have died.

It will just be adding some rank brackets to the current system and removing the NP battle's from the

Current batlle list

so no fears , let's wait for it

I still don't like it even with the revelation that the battle list will still be there. Even if the PRO battles become free, I should be able to pick and choose my battles freely and not be punished by having to queue up for some BOT to choose what map I play. There are maps I like and dislike, and if it goes as far as penalizing you for leaving I'd say just remove the missions and chains altogether and add a single, unified system where completing a certain number of battles gives you a single container every day. I am not going to conform to some stupid, TI-82 level BOT's map choice to complete a mission. Doing this will only instill a mercenary attitude in people like me who want to enjoy the game casually without having to be concerned about getting a terrible match. The biggest draw Tanki has had for me has always been, and will continue to be, the casual atmosphere and lack of dedication required especially with the recent mission chain system. I love ya Tanki, but no homo. I'm not committing beyond our current casual relationship.

I'm a bit disappointed that the battle list to choose non-pro battles will be taken away, but I'm not going to rant about it, I'm going to accept the changes and the fact that Tanki is in development, and is trying something new out, it's worth the experience and time. So I won't assume the worse out of it just yet, it hasn't even been added to the game yet. Matchmaking system is a very successful system for a lot of games  and I do understand why Tanki would go for it. But I don't think this will be "The End" of TO, many topics have been created related to updates about it being "The End" throughout the few years, but Tanki is still here today..;p

I agree with the point that joining weak players with strong ones is not a good idea, at all. Normal battles, with drugs, most of the times do not relly on team work, which would be the thing averaging things out, but rather on individual play with ocasional OD sharing, thus it will probably result in weak players being just cannon fooder, as they are in today's battles, and get discouraged since they will no longer be able to avoid battles with high ranks.

On the other hand, that might pull them to try pro battles out (which will hopefully be free) which I think is very positive.

Anyway this all depends opon how much they stretch the diference beetwen players in battle.
