Gold box selection

Recommended Posts

If you own Gold Boxes, they are taken into battle with you the same as your supplies. Some players save their Gold Boxes for special occasions and don't plan on dropping them until that occasion arises. So, why take them into battle with you? A  player has 10 Gold Boxes and plans on dropping one during a battle he/she is going into. Why take all 10?

My suggestion:

For this example, let's say you have 10 Gold Boxes. You're going into battle and want to be Mr./Miss_NicePerson and drop one during the battle. Click on "Supplies" button. Scroll over to the Gold Box tab. Click on Gold Box and a numbered wheel appears with an "Apply" button. You choose number 1 on the wheel and click "Apply." A pop up window appears and says, "Do you want to take out 1 Gold Box?" At the bottom of the pop up window are the buttons "Yes" and "No." You want to take out 1 Gold Box so you click on "Yes." When you enter into battle you have 1 Gold Box, not 10. If you want to take all 10 into battle, you would click on the number 10 and proceed as mentioned above.

This is similar to when you want to buy supplies. But instead of saying how many you want to buy, you are saying how many Gold Boxes you want to take out.

Completely pointless. If you are facing an issue where you accidentally press "6" and drop your gold box when you didn't intend to, just use custom controls to change the key to something you won't accidentally press.

Pointless? I think it's pointless to take all your Gold Boxes into battle when there is no need to, since you have no intention of dropping them anyway.

Yes, I know about resigning keys and I did that. But that's not what this is all about. If you're going out for the evening and need some pocket money, you stop at the ATM. Do you take out all your money? No, it's pointless. You take out what you think you will need for that evening. If you need more, you stop at an ATM and get what you think you will need. It's also a way to save money (Gold Boxes) spend what you have. If you run out of money, then the evening is over.

In real life there's other reasons for not taking all your money with you. What of you lose your wallet? Or you get mugged/pickpocketed? In Tanki that can't happen, so the only way you could spend more than you wanted is through lack of self-control. And that's not a big issue for most players, so devs won't waste their time adding measures to prevent it.

Besides, the more gold boxes you use, the more likely you are to buy more of them with real money, so that's another reason for not implementing this.

Just go to your settings and remove the "6" key like I do.

I did that a long time ago. Just was an idea that hit my head. I wanted to see how far it would go and I see it hit the garbage can beside the desk.
