Bring back old poly , highland and some other maps

As u know tank developed some maps which I guess were'nt really successful (I am guessing)

Highland and poly used to be my favourite map but now =(. Poly cp was soooo nice only one point , everyone in it fighting dying and everything .

And highland is like okay buy still b4 it was better.


U can enlarge other maps but bring back poly and highland.

We do not accept ideas for bringing back removed features.

 

The maps were changed to make them more balanced and improve their gameplay. You can still play old versions of the maps in PRO battles.

Does TO honestly think that the new Polygon and Highland have better gameplay and more balanced? If anything, you just motivated camping and making the game slow.

Highland especially, don't know who decided it was a good idea to put two camping areas accessible ONLY to the team on that side.

It's definitely more suitable for 20 players, and the multiple CP points vary the strategy a bit, as opposed to everyone just blindly going in the center over and over again.

Highland especially, don't know who decided it was a good idea to put two camping areas accessible ONLY to the team on that side.

Imagine that you are a Shaft player... The devs just made Highland playable with Shaft and I really like this new Highland.

Sure it does. Now imagine you are not camping and actually trying to play the game like a normal person. It's really bad level design to have those spots inaccessible. The current gameplay on Highland is half the team camps, half the team plays like it's a meat-grinder. I am exaggerating of course, but out of all the maps in the battle list it is probably the worst, save Brest.

I have poor equipment so I get high rewards only with Titan Shaft and Hornet Isida. My Smoky and Ricochet get sniped every time.

I don't care if there are 20 players. 15 of those players are probably campers. On the old Polygon, all 14 players were actual players, not campers, as compared to the 5 real players in the new mode. Plus, multiple CP points is boring honestly because you could just avoid enemies by attacking another point. When everyone is fighting for the same objective, it's much more interesting and engaging. Plus, I can only find 2 or 3 new Polygon battles on the list at a single time, as compared to the 7 or 8 old Polygon battles at a time.

The "upgrades" to maps like Highland, Polygon and Highways were just terrible. Same goes for Silence. I have been trying ever since the change was introduced to start liking them, but no. I have played them and I still do not like them. And, most likely, will never like them.

 

Highland expansion allows for more campers to play, mainly magnums. Also shafts are more favourable in Highland. The modification changed the game tactics too much for me to enjoy the map anymore.

 

The decision to remove the back alleys on Highway was also a very bad idea. This map was already highly suitable for campers (magnum, shaft and to a degree, rail). There was always the possibility to sneak behind the buildings and create some confusion on the enemby base. Kept everyone on the toes. With this feature gone, the map is boring. Camping, camping and more camping. So I just quit playing that map also.

 

Polygon was ruined. Absolutely ruined by the redesign. You say that now it is better suited for 20 players, could be. But why the map should have up to 20 players in the first place? Part of a map balance is the amount of players allowed and for some maps 20 players is just too much, regardless of the game mode. Polygon was a well-played map since it was so well known and fun as it was. Tacktics were learded and different enough to allow variable gameplay. The extension parts water down the original.

 

You also say that the old maps will not be returned. Why? You almost sound like a politican who cannot admit that a decision was not necessarily the best one, but are incapable of admitting that. Why not have the old Polygon and a new one beside it? Samo goes for all the "upgraded" maps. There are no obstacles in having the classic ones beside the new maps. It is just a matter of choise and it seems that the choises were made without the consent or approval of the players. That is your choice of course, but it is a slippery slope.

 

There are also maps, where the changes were for the better. Like Massacre, adding the base was a good idea. However, making the sides wider with rather large out of map region was not the best decision but I can live with that. Also other maps had small changes, but for those I have no opinion.

Players also liked the map because of this feature. In addition, team play was also a key here. Attackers went for the CP and snipers etc. stayed out of the center zone. It used to be a map with battles on several levels and team tactics. Now it is a map just any other, without any special tactics. Having different maps does not mean that the tactics must be the same or nearly same for all the maps. And why Polygon must have 20 players? Part of the map balance is considering the max amount of players for each game mode.

Every map has 20 players now since it makes it easier for developers to balance gameplay around that number. That's what they said a while ago.

It is not so much ease of work but rather preparation for MM system. The devs decided that matchmaker battles will have 20 players and last 10 minutes. For this reason some maps were modified to fit this requirement. Old Polygon is still available in PRO battles.

 

Of course, this doesn't explain why some decent 10v10 maps were not included in the current quick battles list and why the modifications were so inane.

1 point Poly CP shouldn't have existed in the first place. It's pretty much a fire/wasp meatgrinder battle.
