Mission Chains Update [April 27th]

Changes to mission chains not good! For battle length there should be new tabs like you want to play 10,15 or 30 minute long non-pro regular battle. 

The 10 minute battle sucks for several reasons. There should be a choice in battle times, 10, 15 or even 30 minutes. There will be some tankers saying piss on doing missions, even less players online. Great job :rolleyes:

put the battles back to 15 minutes . if players wanted 10 minute battles then let them do it pro battles then we all win. this is garbage having it at 10 minutes , its hard to get a full battle now and even with this short time you just get started in a battle and its over your not getting much time to play .. I know your cutting corners but not with this system for battles . cut corners on other things like removing old paints which are no longer being bought . cut down garage paints /  also put protection back on paint . this way more will buy , for now not many are getting paints in garage cause of this along with the over cost on them..

After playing many battles in 10min format, I think that this is a bad change.

In 10min battles the game became boring. I've seen the following problems again and again during these 2 days.

1) Many times, there is a team that makes 1 cap quickly. So the players of losing team start to exit the map. It makes the round unbalanced and the round ends early. Also the crystals are not so many.

2) If one team has less players and loses, new players don't join the game because of lack of time for a winning comeback.

3) GB doesn't fall so often.

4) Because of the problem (1), there are no battles that the 2 team fight for the win till the end. Personally, I've played only 1 battle that was a derby till the end.

 

So, in conclusion, the battles became boring. Also, there is a big decrease of true battle time(3-4 min out of 10) of strategy, killings and tries of capturing, because when a team gets the lead, the losing players start to leave the battle and the battle ends. While in 15min battles, the true battle time was almost 10 min(or more) of 15.

I think it's the worst change in battles. It's worse than the change that only pro-players can create battle(which change made many maps "die").

Some people like to talk big, and try to talk down to others, but when you check their profiles they have close to 1.0 K/D, and that after using a lot of drugs.

 

Don't judge.  What if they were Isidas that spent lots of time healing?

My K/D is below 1.0 for that very reason - most of my time before Colonel I spent on Lost Temple healing teammates and getting killed for it.

Now I'm killing on average 30-40 every battle with Twins but that doesn't count much...

As I predicted, many players are focused on picking up boxes, they are also helping, the ones I saw, but are not much help, luckily in those battles I guess enemies where doing the same. Won all my battles.

 

The problem with 10 minute battles is probably not that they are 10 minute battles, but that you find them with 6, 5, 2 or other few minutes left. But if there was some balance in battles, ranks, rewards and missions, I think it wouldn't matter much.

When you look for something you will see it everywhere. This smacks of perception bias.

LOL. This is a crack at me. k/d is a meaningless stat. Yet here you are assigning meaning to it. Flag attackers get kiled all the time. Fat Shafts that never move have sky-high k/ds. And so on. (Say ... it's nice a cozy here under your skin. B) )

You did not predict anything, stop acting like you can predict or know anything. What you've just said above happens every single day on Tanki. Yes people pick up boxes but they do not wait, stop making up false accusations and blaming innocent players who play in battles. You're seriously annoying with your bull crap.

Yet again, you made yourself look like a fool whilst trying to look smart with your irrelevant posts. Since when K/D has any explanation towards the person? He might have a good strategy earning good K/D and supplies does not show his personality. The only times I've seen people talk big are, with good facts and straight points unlike you with your irrelevant information, blaming innocent people. 

 

Come back with better facts before posting something useless and don't even dare to blame innocent people.

Ok, salt aside, I have a genuine reaction to this update:

 

It didn't work. I missed yday's missions on my alt (week 2 day 3), and got reset to week 1 day 1.

 

Anyone else had the same issue?

It's others what? You didn't finish your sentence.

 

How many of those that threaten to leave actually leave and actually never come back? Do you have figures for those? How many that players don't threaten to leave but leave anyway. Clearly numbers are declining and that's a fact and it's a sad because without players this game is useless. We need to retain as many as we can. When players are threatening to leave, that is a warning sign that should not be ignored and definitely not mocked. I'm guessing they don't want to leave but they're voicing their displeasure at decisions made.

 

Sabotage was one reason for these changes. It wasn't the only reason but it definitely contributed. There are so many ways to deter this. One example would be to reset a player's mission chains if they're disciplined in the violators section. It's a deterrent that would work with many, especially if they're on week 4 or week 10 as it is now. And before you find work arounds, I said one example.

 

10 minute battles are so easy to influence now. I could enter a battle and stay in the corner of a map for 4½ minutes then leave. Or I could just run around a battle collecting repair kits for 10 minutes, destroying the occassion tank as I go. It's crazy one player is still allowed to ruin a battle for 9 other players.

 

Punishments for violators need to be much harsher. These are killing the game, these are ultimately why players are leaving, even if they don't realise it. Violators will be the death of this game and while many have warned against this, decision makers within tanki are too stubborn to acknowledge it and it won't get fixed with matchmaking either because they're just creating new reasons for people to leave.

 

If only...

I agree with much of what you say. Of course others may say they are leaving and actually do it.

 

I was talking about very specific emotional beings that were threatening to leave a few days ago, now they act like they are the best at Tanki basically calling others stupid just because they are complaining or posting feedback. I think it's just so they can feel better about themselves. When I see this beings whine, really whine, I just let them do it without saying a thing.

I was only talking about those that think they are so better than others. There's nothing wrong with having a low K/D. But K/D is an indicator. And we should take into account Isidas.

The mult issue was, is and will always be there. But is is also a cry wolf by unhappy players, it is more talked about than actually experienced in battle. Anybody is a mult (noob player) or a hacker (pro player) nowadays.

I quit battles much more often now. Simple, really, there is just nothing to get invested in with a 10 minute battle.

 

Seriously, if I don’t like the way I get killed, I’ll quit and find another battle rather than be bothered with changing a protection module or trying to rally a team. Just not worth it.

 

The above sounds negative, but it’s actually really cool and liberating. Don’t like the battle? Don’t care! Bail! Have a small collect crystal mission? Just join battles already in progress. They’ll end soon and you can collect. Rinse and repeat. Battles full? Wait a few minutes - they’ll cycle!

 

I almost joined the ‘less battle fund’ bandwagon, but there are exploits to 10 minute battles to compensate for this. For example, it’s MUCH easier to join a losing team and turn the battle around. That’s a crystal gold mine, if you’ll pardon the mixed mine metaphor.

i'm referring mainly to the ones we never buy .. if you all ready own it they can't remove it. its the ones that you don't own that i'm talking about..the ones you refuse to own cause they have no good in general .

Don't be afraid of feel bad about quiting battles, I even tell others that I'm quiting, so they can decide to stay or leave, and sometimes I tell others to quit too, when battles are one sided.

 

It's better to quit with a cost of 30 or 40 exp than end the battle with a cost of 200 or 300 exp with very little rewards.

Shorter battles does not influence the crystal earned. You play 3 battles of 10 minutes and you will have the same amount of 2 battle of 15 minutes. In both case you will have played 30 minutes and earn the same amounts.

The only positive effect is that it take less time to do " finish on top 3" mission :D

Nope cuz people leave more in 15 min, you get more fund

Developers should had a sound to announce that the battle is close to an end. That would have been useful before, but it is more relevant now. Probably a  different sound than the early finishing battle and about 1 minute before end.

This is true for any battles length, the found is split in the end among the remaining players, and more is given to the wining team.
The system is the same. Do the maths with 2 battles of 15 minutes versus 3 battles of 10 minutes. 
Remember it's about fun, and a bit about crystal too, but mostly it's a game, and it's not about scrounging.

I think the game is headed in the wrong direction, unless Tanki is planning more economic affecting updates it's not good for anyone.

 

If you Devs are planning in changing container rewards, it will be understandable, but please let us know in advance.

 

Compensations will be welcomed.

alright dev's tell me what the point is in playing now everytime we join get 1 flag or a few cp points other team leaves this is completely boring now
