Inactivity time only starts counting after you get into the battle

Valid

White it makes sense to have a timer that overlooks your loading process (so this should stay), it could make sense to improve the way it is done. Like to make it less depending on the time it took, but more depending on a time estimation that it would take.

Tanki should count total inactivity time to then compensate teams with more inactivity time by blocking or allowing new players to teams.

That way, your 3 minutes it takes you to join a battle would be compensated to your team.

I think it should stay as is. You are still hurting your team by taking a long time to load in, so it's not fair to others, even if it's not your fault.

Your loading times are unreasonably long if you get kicked due to inactivity before loading in . . .

I was using a gaming maptop and super wifi when this happened yesterday. I cleared cache and it still happened. I am in north-east france, closer to the servers than most players.

If you can tell me what i need to do to  not take an unreasonably amount of time to load I will listen, but for now I'll just have to demand that i don't get punished for somethig that's out of my control.

Use the client if possible. It might kick you in the first 2 - 3 battles you join but after that you won't experience the problem again. I use the client and my battles load in 10 - 20 seconds and my internet is far from the best.

You can do a speed test of your connection and see if it's your connection. Check the Help site for instructions.

I was told by one of the Mods (don't remember which one) to do the speed test from where you live to the Netherlands, that's where the server is.

How should I know?

I am pointing out that > 2 minute load times are unreasonable, which I'd say is pretty objective. No one said you were unreasonable or whatever, not sure what the fuss is all about.

It just hit me... DON'T clear your cache! Why? During the long loading times, the game is trying to download all the props, map files, and textures needed for the map. When you clear the cache, you are DELETING those files that the game downloaded. Keeping the files will make the game load FASTER once it has downloaded the prop libraries and tank models it needs.*

*Exception: You can't get past the loading screen when you sign in after an update.

well you can clear the cache, but thereafter you should enter some random battles, to get the props loaded.

Then you can scout for battles that you really care about, and enjoy the shorter loading time (as you filled your cache again).
