It's a lot more complicated than you may think. Tanki already has an anti-cheat system which stops dozens of different types of hacking software. But what happens is developers update it every now and then to block new types of hacks, while "hackers" make new software to bypass the updated anti-cheat, requiring devs to work on another anti-cheat update. So it's a never-ending battle, meaning that hackers can't simply be stopped with one big update.

 

You may notice that nowadays there's actually not that much hacking going on. The only thing really affected by it is gold boxes, but even then it's hard to tell whether someone was just lagging or actually using a hacked client. Compare that to the situation we had in 2012, where someone would join a battle and instantly teleport between bases, capturing 20 flags in 5 seconds...

 

So, while the number of hacks and their effect on battles may reduce, it's highly unlikely that they will ever be completely eradicated.
