[Issue 76] How to Be Funny and Cool on the Forum

Is amk an evolution of mk? In case any of you came here in the past year and a half, I created mk and all the writers have taken it because people think I am cool and I don't need this guide.

On a more serious note, while I appreciate the sense of humor you have, I know that you can do better satire. Remember, the goal of satire isn't to be obviously satirical at first, but rely more on wit than strikeouts and obvious fake facts. Obviously, however, there is a certain line that we must pay careful attention to, lest we make satire easier to understand, which would, in affect, remove the strength of satire in our arguments as it would only cause discord if everyone understood the satire that is, in fact, being used, preferably without others noticing, which you yourself mentioned. It is also important to take into account that the other goal of satire is indeed to trick them, as it can really only be through the profuse failings of others trying to understand satire that it is highlights the much more subtle messaging that is the requirement to trick people and thus making it more amusing. It is only through the use of repeated, if slightly uncommon, strategies that we must, in fact, reiterate the importance of being intelligent without being smart, and only once said work is done, and it has been proven to work, will satire here work and it will make out points even stronger.

Think about that.

wow, wb bry! If you were anyone else, I'd probs just post an quick "amk" in response to that^ to stick with the examples I've given in the article, but since you actually gave valid and constructive feedback, I'll answer. lol

I agree that there's a line to be aware of in satirical writing, but I also consider it to be mainly subjective. It varies with the target audience, and the point you're trying to make. In this "article", I decided to skew the writing towards the humorous side, sacrificing the subtle, satirical method for something that would be more approachable for readers of all ages and English levels.

I realise that most English-y people probably didn't enjoy the low quality satire, which is why I put in Kaisdf's totally not inspect elemented response to this article.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback, and good to see you back :)

also, idek what amk is, it's just something people in all the cool clans used to say and I thought it was super annoying <__<

The best part about this is that you missed my satire at the end ;)
