Battle Moderator Spectators

Battles' Moderators are specially trained moderators whom you won't find playing on the battlefield. They are Tanki Online special force, hidden from the public eye, fighting against sabotage and other violations that may happen in our beloved game. They deal with players who have gone too far trying to spoil the fun of honest players by cheating, sabotage or inactivity. Battle Moderators can be found in the Chat with this icon beside their nickname: Icon_battle_moderator.png.

Battle Moderator Canditates

Tankers who decide to devote themselves to the tough and professional life as a Battle Moderator must first undergo extensive training. Battle Moderator Candidates can be found in the Chat with this icon beside their nickname: Icon_battle_candidate.png.

Modeless Spectator /Fake Spectator

Settings

As of this update, a modified form of Spectator mode can be freely used by any player! In order to use the “Modeless Spectator,” you will need to follow a few simple steps:

1. Enter a battle.
2. Find your desired position for the picture.
3. Press Ctrl + Shift + K to open the task tab.
4. Type vars.set cam_maxmove 0 and press Enter.
5. Press Ctrl + Shift + K or Escape to get out of the task tab.
6. Drive away from the screen.

Adjusting vertical camera speed

You can change the speed at which the view is changed when you press Q and E (or PageUp and PageDown) keys. To do that, enter a battle, open the console using the Ctrl + Shift + K key combination and enter the following command: vars.set cam_vspeed 0.5, where 0.5is the desired speed. The default number is 0.7. Increasing this value will make the camera move faster, while decreasing the value will make it move slower.

Attention: For the time being, any changes in settings will only be saved until the following server change, after which they will reset to default, and need to be changed again.

Guide

This “Modeless Spectator” can be used for aesthetic or strategic purposes. If looking to take some cool pictures without an official Spectator Account, refer to this Guide. However, by adjusting the camera settings, you can use the modified camera speeds to gain an advantage in battles. In the case of Magnum, you simply have to go to the spot which gives you the best view of the enemy base and enter the code “vars.set cam_maxmove 0” into the task tab. Then comes the difficult part; you need to move away and find a nice place to hide. Once you establish how far away you are from the place where your camera is rotating, you can fire away at unsuspecting enemies!

Here is an example of a great use of this feature on Lost Temple:
1. Drive to the location shown below and park in the same position.

2. Raise your camera to the highest position above your tank

3. Set the camera speed to 0, and tilt the camera back to a horizontal position (Q by default).
4. Find a suitable angle and make some practice shots to see where your shots land.

5. Shoot the other team in their base.

Please don't create topics with copied information that already exists elsewhere. If it's on the Wiki, then it's already available to players if they wish to view it, so there's no point having the exact same information in a topic on the forum. Besides, the guide to "fake spectator" can already be found in this topic.

If you want to post an actual guide that you wrote, you can use the Advice From Experienced Players topic.
