Someone said that "Tanki's birthday celebration is around the corner" I say, that Tanki's death is approaching fast. Only idiots will be playing this game where a megalomaniac dumbass thought that it is better for badly designed software to choose what map I will be playing and against whom.   so long tanki, it was fun while it lasted hope that your Soviet type of thinking destroys you just as it destroyed the Soviet Union.  до свидания

Almost in every PVP shooter, multiplayer online game exists matchmaking system, so it was already time to come in Tanki online ( after 7-8 years how much Tanki exist  :) ) Only problem it is how good this in Tanki will be good. Well we'll see it tomorrow.  I personally do not care for matchmaking system. I only playing this battle to finish my mission. It is only important to me that the PRO battle was left unchanged what they were, before this update.

I think this is a good opportunity to make new friends, and play with them on pro battles, if you dislike MM. I know that pro battles are mostly the same configuration, but you could do different - create battles with your own settings. Imagine playing on Deathtrack or Bobruisk again... without drugs... etc...

Wow! This is sad...so sad as our President Trump would say. I don't like the idea of this MM system regardless of what many are saying. When people can't choose, it becomes a dictatorship. When people pay (I have been a buyer for 4 people), it's like their right to vote and to be heard. I'm not discounting those who don't. But the fact is, when you put money into any establishment, the establishment exist because of you. Take the money away and the establishment goes into bankruptcy and eventually closes.

Nonetheless, I for one prefer Highways as a Map. I will often wait in line and that's due to the server merge which was a bad idea too. I like the idea of looking at the battles I wanted to go in. You guys want to address every complaint. There's just no way to address each concern people have like mults. I don't care about mults. It happens in every game...so what. What I do care about is having choices. Now, I have to wait, get in line and wait for some random map?

There has been and continues to be way too many changes in this game. I should add that this is more than a game for those of us who have met some really good people. For us, it's a community. Communities will welcome change but not destructive ones like putting a highway through the center of it which is what this is.

Some of you think this is good because it's changing with the times. Ok, here's two examples. First, my example of changing with the times means going from having a model T without headlights to having a newer model with headlights. The newer model kept all the good things about the original model T and added additional features to improve it. People can now drive at night and be safer on the road due to the lights.

Now, here's the example for those of you who like this update. You have the model T with the headlights but decide that headlights should be removed so as not to blind other drivers. You got so many complaints from the two or three drivers that got blinded by another driver that you felt it was time to address it.  It doesn't matter that the majority of drivers are pleading that the headlights not be removed, you proceed to have them removed anyway. Now drivers drive at night without the headlights and as a result, fatalities have increased. Sales have drastically decreased. But still, you claim the change is good.

In this game, players should be able to choose a map, plain and simple. The so called benefits of the MM system are not benefits. Instead, it's force feeding and that's no benefit as far as I am concerned. If I go to the local grocery store, I don't want to be forced to buy what's on the shelf if it's not what I want. I like Cheerios but the store is telling me I WILL buy Corn Flakes and like it!!! I got news for that store...NO I WON'T. That won't work in a democracy. But I understand this game is in Russia, so forcing people, denying them choices may be a way of life. In that sense, this all makes sense.

But when the smoke clears, I believe many people, beginning with me and my sons, will simply go elsewhere. I did like this game at one time...still do in some ways. However, force feeding isn't my cup of tea. Telling me I will eventually like what you're forcing me to eat when I clearly told you I don't like it or have a taste for it won't make me like it later. It doesn't make things better...only bitter. I think it's time to go.

If everyone is of the same rank or within 1-2 ranks of each other you can safely presume that both teams will have similar equipment and skill. Much better than the current system where ranks are quite far apart and everyone joins the winning team.

not really cause my friend had a garage as good as @Dont_Panic when she was my rank... but yea i suppose buyers do deserve to keep the advanatge they have over everyone else

The mechanism for even distribution of players and probably more optimised queing system. So in theory there should be minimal waiting time and near-perfect balance between teams. In theory. We'll see what actually happens tomorrow.

lets see how this 'perfect balance' goes

I'm very happy to hear this, no more M1's in M3 battles...Balanced game-play..I cannot wait to get on in a few hours and test this amazing system out for myself.  As soon as I saw this thread I was like "yes yes yes" about darn time.

Sadly this is not going to be the case...Tanki has said that rank brackets, even effectiveness rating are not what will make a "balanced" battle.  To them a battle is balanced if there is an equivalency on each side.  In other words, that M1 playing with M3s will be fine as long as there is another M1 on the opposing team.  This may not be too obvious in peak play times and the rank brackets may actually be fairly close, but in off hours, the "balance" situation promises to completely ruin the game for non-peak hour players.

Át last, waiting since last year, the deciding factor to whether I keep continuing to play non-pro battles or slowly fade away either out of tanki or into pro battles. I have high hopes for MMS, we'll see.  ^_^

My main issue is not being able to choose the map I want to play. This game is for free to play for other players and also people make choices whether to buy on this game or not, meaning they have every right not to get the choice of choosing any map they want to play away from them and that goes for casual players too. What if I don't want to play highway map? What if I don't want to play Brest or any other boring map? Either way, it is not that big of a deal because you can leave the map and be in the queque again?

They also said that the matchmaker will put as many players of the same rank in one battle and if it's not full yet, it will slightly widen the rank bracket to top it off. If many players are online, this shouldn't be an issue, if only few players are online, it might. However, since we don't exactly know how players will be 'matched', we won't know how well balanced it will be in terms of ranks until tomorrow.

then how will battles be balanced? what if one side has big fat drugers and the other side doesn't have any? I'm pretty sure drugs are the main reason battles are unbalanced... more than MUs or equipment modifications

well said...a couple of times already

+ if MM compares the rank level only, in lower levels can happen that poor M1 smoky users for example meet M2 opponets with the chance MUd already to M3...good luck with it

+ it will be fun joins battles for a couple of minutes because of the left ones

Giving players ability to choose map will greatly increase the time it takes for a battle to fill up, because not only do you need to find enough players of similar rank and skill level, but you also need enough players who want to play that particular map. With how little players Tanki has at the moment, map selection simply wouldn't work.

I'm willing to sacrifice map choice for the sake of fair battles, as long as the MM system actually does its job and properly balanced the teams.

Look, there are reasons why we choose maps. It's because different maps suit different tanks. Large, slow hulls perform best in smaller maps, and vice versa.

Similarly, turrets like Shaft require places you can get a good view and cover (Brest and Highways are best, Desert and Polygon are just about ok).  Turrets like Ricochet suit maps with perpendicular walls that you can bounce the plasma off.

So how does Matchmaker work for these? If I join a battle with Wasp/Shaft (my favourite), are you going to put me in a Massacre or Tribute battle? I'd leave immediately and keep trying until I was put in a suitable map.

I'm sure I'll find a map eventually, but it's going to be a very frustrating, time-wasting process. Is this really what you want?

My guess is that the wait in queue for another battle will be the biggest deterrent from leaving a battle.  So when you get plopped into Massacre with your tank combo of choice, you will either eat it big time, take the time to change your combo in garage, or leave the battle to wait in queue again.  My guess is most players will end up choosing to change equipment.  Sadly the days when you could choose a map that suited your favorite equipment are OVER...buy more equipment combos (hummmm, could this be Tanki's real reason for MM?)  You will play where MM sends you, or you will spend you life waiting in queue...or you will just ditch Tanki as a serious game and let it become a diversion game like solitaire or Agar.io.

So very sad.
